Actions Underway

• Hawaii is a state funded court system.  Although Hawaii’s budget was not reduced in FY09, restrictions were imposed in September 2008 on hiring and travel to ensure that we could meet our fiscal obligations.
• For FY10, the Judiciary’s budget was reduced by a net $9.4 million (6.3%) relative to its FY09 budget.  While the precise impacts of this budget reduction are not evident at this point, it will certainly adversely impact Hawaii’s ability to serve the public in the same manner as in recent years.
