Actions Underway

• Connecticut is a state funded court system. Connecticut’s budget was cut by $17 million (less than 4%) in FY09 and anticipates a reduction of $20 million (less than 4%) in FY10.  Connecticut has imposed a hiring freeze and has established an early retirement program for judges.
• Connecticut is moving towards a system of electronic records, filing and signatures.  It is also implementing videoconferencing capability and moving towards audio digital recording of court proceedings.
