Kick Off to CTC5!

The National Center for State Courts will present its Fifth National Court Technology Conference (CTC5) on September 9-12, 1997, at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan. The only national conferences devoted exclusively to court technology, CTCs draw thousands of participants, including judges, court administrators, and technology specialists, from across the country and around the globe. More than 2,500 justice system professionals are expected to attend CTC5.

CTC5 will open on the evening of Tuesday, September 9, with an insightful keynote address by Cheryl Currid, one of America's most respected technology analysts. Presented by the Forum on the Advancement of Court Technology (FACT), Ms. Currid will discuss her visionary ideas about how courts can use technology more strategically and smartly. In a second keynote address, held on Thursday, September 11, Dr. Shoshana Zuboff, author of In the Age of the Smart Machine: The Future of Work and Power, will share her provocative perspectives on how technology affects our work and our organizations.

CTC5 will offer the most well-rounded educational program ever. New SuperSessions will give you the conceptual tools you need for the future and will preview court technology in the next century. Accomplished judicial practitioners, the best minds in research and academia, and leading innovators from the private sector will use state-of-the-art technology to conduct more than 20 educational sessions. Sessions will cover imaging and electronic document management, the Internet and public access, videoconferencing, voice technologies, smart courthouses, courthouse security, and client/server technology.

CTC5 will present the world's largest exhibition of court technology products and services. The two-day exhibition in Cobo's Oakland Hall will feature more than 125 leading vendors who will demonstrate the technologies and tools that are revolutionizing today's courts. New Showcase Theatres on the exhibition floor will give you an even closer look at the companies and products you want to see. Exciting prize drawings will close the exhibition each day.
