Each year (beginning in 1994) the National Center for State Courts publishes a report now entitled "Future Trends in State Courts." The purpose of this report is to support the strategic planning efforts in the court community.   Each publication contains several articles written by NCSC staff and court experts from around the country. Individual Future Trends articles published since 2001 that relate to this topic are listed to below.


Trends 2006 H. Ted Rubin.  Juvenile Justice Systems Are Issuing Accountability Report Cards to Their Communities.  The article describes the issuing of report cards for juvenile accountability pilot projects in Bend, Oregon; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; South Carolina; and Cook County, Illinois.  According to the author, the successes of issuing juvenile accountability report cards may make them more widespread in state courts.

 

Trends 2005

David S. Leitenberger.  Richland County Model Reentry Court.  This article discusses the comprehensive nature of the Richland County (OH) Reentry Court Model.  It describes the court model's functions, partnerships with other government agencies, and core elements.
