Court Technology Conferences Presentations

In conjunction with its leadership role in the Court Technology field, the National Center for State Courts has hosted Court Technology Conferences (CTCs) since the late 1980s.  Presentations from these conferences are highly respected in the court community.   NCSC has preserved and digitized these conference papers since CTC4 held in 1994.  The conference presentations this topic are available through the links below. 

 

 


CTC10 - 2007

 

Hough, Bonnie et al.  Technology and the Access to Justice Crisis. presented at the Tenth National Court Technology Conference, Tampa, FL (October 2007).  The session will serve as an introduction to the Public Access sessions by providing a broad strategic perspective of the need and potential solutions for the courts as well as outline the critical role that technology plays both on it own and as part of those strategies in overcoming the justice to access problem by providing information over the Web, assisting with preparation for court customer friendly filing of cases, the development of training and support programs, and support and encouragement of pro bono and discrete assistance programs.

 


CTC8 - 2003

 

Staudt, Ronald W. "Self-Represented Litigants and Electronic Filing". (presented at the Eighth National Court Technology Conference Kansas City, MO October 2003). Refers to the advantages and disadvantages of Electronic filing, especially pertaining to those people representing themselves.


CTC7 - 2001

 

Staudt, Ronald W. "Access to Justice- Meeting the Needs of Self-Represented Litigants, A Consumer-Based Approach". (presented at the Seventh National Court Technology Conference Baltimore, MD August 2001). An examination on the proximity of the courts to the litigants, along with tips for closer interactions.
