Alabama

Alabama Supreme Court.  Alabama Appellate Mediation Training Manual.  October 5, 2004.  This is a comprehensive training manual for the Alabama Appellate Courts Mediation Program.  Included in the training manual are slides on the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, appellate mediation time lines and flow charts, mediation forms and applications, and general guidelines for effective mediation.  (KFA512 A43 2004)

The Alaska Court System provides information about mediation in Alaska. This site includes consumer information, a link to state bar resources, and downloadable court publications. 

Mediation; Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and the Alaska Court System, December 1999. This online booklet includes ADR issues for lawyers and clients to discuss, definitions, how to get a case to mediation, how to locate and select a mediator, procedures, lawyer’s role, cost, confidentiality, plus information about early neutral evaluation and settlement conferences. Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Alaska Court System, December 1997. This lengthy report includes summaries of state and federal programs, information on how cases are referred, qualifications of neutrals, funding, and proposals from the Alaska Judicial Council. 

Resolving Disputes Locally: A Statewide Report and Directory, April 1993. A “comprehensive overview of dispute resolution organizations functioning throughout rural Alaska in early 1993,” this report includes a history of tribal dispute resolution, directory, explanation of the interaction between state and tribal courts, and Alaska Judicial Council recommendations.
