This article discusses the merits and disadvantages to private mediation and court-appointed mediation. It focuses on "the Settlement Program of the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District." The article notes that "the settlement rate achieved in the program compels the conclusion that the program has been an unqualified success, particularly given the limited resources allocated to the program and the minimal regulatory constraints of the program. The analysis will use the accepted conceptual framework of mediation as the basis of inquiry into the program." (KF9084 A15 M5)
