Welcome to the new Judicial Salary Resource Center. The National Center for State Courts (NCSC) has published an annual Survey of Judicial Salaries for more than 30 years, and this Web site reflects a transformation in its systems of data collection and storage to make the data more timely, accessible, and powerful. Please note that the move toward a more-modern Web interface does not mean that NCSC will discontinue its print editions.This Web site is meant to serve as a supplement and continuous update to their content.

Due to the increased ease of data tracking and presentation, the Resource Center compares and ranks two additional position categories nationally: the presiding judges of intermediate appellate courts and the presiding judges of general jurisdiction courts. NCSC will use the same analytical tools and comparisons previously performed only on justices of the courts of last resort, the associate judges of intermediate appellate courts, state court administrators, and the general jurisdiction associate judges on these two additional judge types. In addition, the salary database will still present available salary data for judges of limited jurisdiction trial courts and quasi-judicial officers. We will remain open to adding other positions for ranking and comparison.

NCSC’s staff members are currently adding historical data to the database, so if the specific data desired are not yet available, we hope to make them available soon. You may access the current salary data from our most recent issue of the Survey of Judicial Salaries or browse through the Archives for past salary data.
