CASA PROGRAM ASSISTANT: Superior Court of Arizona, Court Appointed Special Advocate Program, Mohave County, Kingman, AZ. Duties: Under general supervision, undertakes, performs and provides a variety of clerical, office services, secretarial and related support associated with the operation, functions and coordination of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program. Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED AND three (3) years of relevant, progressively responsible clerical, customer service, secretarial or closely related experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. PROGRAM ANALYST: District of Columbia Courts, Family Court Social Services, Washington, D.C. Summary: Incumbent assists the Deputy Director and Senior Attorney Advisor of the Family Court Social Services Division in tracking effective accomplishment of duties and responsibilities necessary to ensure timely and effective case screening/assessment, initiation, processing, management and supervision. Duties: Conducts data/caseload analyses, designs and produces on-going statistical reports, maintains oversight of the division’s utilization of databases, and undertakes specific targeted research studies to support the division’s research and technical assistance functions within the Family Court of the D.C. ADMINISTRATOR OF FAMILY AND INVESTIGATIVE SERVICES (COURT SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR-A): Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa. Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Family and Probate Court Services, the person selected for this position will be responsible for the management of both the Family Court Services and Probate Investigations Units including the supervision of Family Court Services Mediators, Court Investigators, Probate Examiners and clerical support staff. CUSTODY EVALUATOR: Superior Court of Arizona, Mohave County. Summary: Part time position within Conciliation Court responsible for performing professional level work. Duties: This position will include conducting interviews, analyzing results of psychological and other testing, consulting with relevant professionals, preparing and submitting written recommendations to the court regarding custody and parenting time. Qualifications: Equivalent of a master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in marriage and counseling, social work, psychology or related field and 2+ years progressively responsible counseling and family system related experience. Domestic violence and child abuse training also required. Salary: $23.68 per hour, 20 hrs per week (2007).

COURT EXAMINER I: Fresno Superior Court, California. Summary: The Fresno Superior Court has an opportunity for the Court Examiner I – Family Law classification. Duties: The incumbent will ensure the accuracy and completeness of case files; compliance with all legal statues, court rules, and policies; and reviews with the judge to ensure compliance with procedural requirements. In addition, will be responsible for reviewing the less complex case files before and after court sessions for accuracy and completeness of forms; determining what actions need to be taken; reviewing case files to assure timely follow-up of legal requirements; maintaining case files and possess strong customer service talents. The incumbent must have effective organizational, extraordinary time management, and record keeping skills; good oral and written communication skills; ability to interpret and apply complex laws and regulations; knowledge of, and proficiency in legal research and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with judges, court staff, at all organizational levels, and with the public. STAFF ASSISTANT TO THE FAMILY COURT: District of Columbia Courts, Family Court. Summary: The incumbent provides clerical, administrative, research and some limited analytical support to the Office of the Family Court Director. Duties: This includes data entry for the Family Treatment Court program, reviewing, researching and analyzing information produced through reports on Family Court performance. Interacts with other Family Court staff to resolve data and performance related issues. Oversees the coordination of the Family Court’s “Hooked on Books” program. Assists in the preparation of requirements or instructions for processing and compiling collected data, including editing, coding, and hand tabulation of data. CASE COORDINATOR, CENTRAL INTAKE CENTER: District of Columbia Courts, Family Court. Summary: Identifies through the Integrated Justice Information Systems the existence and status of all cases in the Family Court involving the same parties and/or members of their immediate family or household. Duties: Coordinates and facilitates the assignment of related cases to the appropriate judicial officers. Ensures the accuracy of party and family identification information in Family Court cases. Reviews abuse and neglect cases for compliance with the federal and local Adoption and Safe Families Act (ASFA). Participates in and develops protocols regarding the Courts Special Projects as assigned. Provides direct supervision to outside contractors, as needed, as special projects are implemented within the Family Court. ASSISTANT FAMILY LAW FACILITATOR: Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa. Summary: The Superior Court in Contra Costa County is recruiting to fill two Assistant Family Law Facilitator positions in support of the Court’s new Family Law Expansion project. The Family Law Expansion project is designed to provide expanded services to family law litigants. Duties: The individuals appointed to these positions will perform a wide variety of duties under the supervision of the Family Law Facilitator including but not limited to: providing educational materials to parents regarding the process of establishing parentage; establishing, modifying and enforcing child and spousal support in the courts; distributing necessary court forms and voluntary declarations of paternity; providing assistance in completing forms; preparing support schedules based upon statutory guidelines; providing referrals to the local child support agency, Family Court Services and other community agencies and resources that provide services for parents and children; mediating issues of child and spousal support and the maintenance of health insurance; drafting stipulations agreed to by all parties; preparing orders after hearing and judgments; preparing tentative rulings; reviewing paperwork, examining documents and advising the judge on the readiness of cases; and performing other duties at the direction of the Family Law Facilitator. Qualifications: Possession of a law degree from an accredited law school. Law courses taken and successfully completed in the areas of family law and California community property law are highly desirable. Membership in the State Bar of California. Work experience in the practice of family law (as an attorney or in another capacity) is highly desirable. COURT CONCILIATOR SUPERVISOR: Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County. Summary: Conduct conciliation counseling, mediation/negotiation and family assessment/evaluation, including conferences with parties, attorneys, relatives or other individuals involved in conciliation proceedings. Duties: Refer clients to community services. Conduct premarital conferences.  Develop and present in-service education. Complete administrative assignments and related work, including public relations activities.  Supervise thirteen conciliators, review their work, write performance reviews, track continuing education units, prepare goals for units. Responsible for monitoring performance of goals, tracking work performance, enforcing attendance and dress policies, knowing departmental policies and procedures. Exhibit leadership and professionalism as a representative of the department and the court. ATTORNEY ADVISOR: District of Columbia Courts, Family Court, Washington, D.C. Summary: Attorney Advisor position requires deep knowledge of the ASFA and Child Welfare statutes. Duties: Reviews records for compliance with all statutory timelines outlined in federal and District of Columbia Adoption and Safe Families Act (D.C. ASFA). Participates in the preparation of summary findings and documentation of improvements required by the family Court and related agencies to comply with the requirements of the ASFA. Develops case specific plans for remedial improvements with specific goals and timetables. Provides to the Family Court monthly progress reports regarding the status of designated case groups as to compliance with ASFA timelines. Reviews all related cases and prepares summary of nature of cases and disposition. Monitors and tracks changes in legislation that impact abuse and neglect cases. CHILD PLACEMENT REVIEW (CPR) BOARD MEMBER: Superior Court of New Jersey, Union Vicinage. Summary: The Child Placement Review Board (CPRB) is a legislatively mandated judicial volunteer program in the Family Division of Superior Court. Boards are made up of citizen volunteers who are appointed by the Family Division Presiding Judge to review the cases of all children placed outside of their homes by the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS). Duties: Child Placement Review Board members review DYFS case plans and conduct in-person interview to determine whether a child’s medical, educational, and therapeutic needs are being met in foster placement. Additionally, Board members make recommendations to judges with respect to the division’s long term case goals for the child. The Union County’s Child Placement Review Boards meet once per month in Elizabeth, NJ. Qualifications: Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, is required to complete a basis 12 hour CPR training curriculum as well as a 6 hour Orientation to the Court Training. Applicant must complete a minimum of 5 hours continuous training each year and must be able to serve one year on the CPR Board and attend meetings on a monthly basis. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language is mandatory, and the applicant must agree to take an Oath of Confidentiality. COURT SERVICES SUPERVISOR 2: Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex Vicinage, Family Division. Summary: Under the general direction of the Family Division Manager or other high level supervisor, the selected individual supervises, monitors, coordinates and oversees a team of specialized staff who perform data entry related activities. Duties: Provides customer service, tracks cases for case management purposes, oversees special projects, reports progress and resolution of problems in achieving goals and objectives to higher levels of management; conducts formal work performance evaluations with team member and recommends and/or implements personnel actions. Leads a case management team; develops and formulates procedures and/or practices to ensure efficient court/unit operations. DIRECTOR, COURT PROGRAMS: Family Court of St. Louis County, St Louis, Missouri. Duties: Family Court of St. Louis County is seeking a Director for its Court Programs Department currently composed of 3 managers, and approximately 30 staff. Position reports to the Family Court Administrator. The position is responsible for the planning, development and coordination of programs and services intended to support the core activities of the Family Court. In conjunction therewith, the position directs the activities of the Family Court’s Community Programs Unit, Family and Clinical Services Unit, and Domestic Relations Unit.  The position conducts analyses of services needed by departments; modifies staff assignments or reassigns staff to maximize effectiveness; provides guidance and direction to Court Program Managers regarding the most efficient and effective delivery of services to the public; develops community collaborations and partnerships; writes/administers grants, etc. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or a related social/behavioral science is required; plus at least eight years of professional experience providing social work, psychological, or other treatment or program services to juveniles and families, of which at least five years should be at the management level; or any equivalent combination of training and experience; previous experience in program development and coordination is highly preferred; prior research experience is desirable. COURT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT GRANTS MANAGER: Family Court, District of Columbia Courts. Duties: Incumbent provides programmatic and research support to the Office of the Director. Assists in all aspects of development related to a variety of Court Improvement Project (CIP) initiatives such as data exchange between the Child and Family Services Agency and the Court, the development of interdisciplinary training programs, and the creation of special training programs for attorneys in child abuse and neglect cases. In addition, the incumbent will coordinate the tracking and monitoring of expenditures of grants funds in relation to reporting requirements. The position will function as a grants assistant to the Court Improvement Project and related activities. Works with the CIP Project Manager in the preparation of required reports for each of the CIP grants. Assists the CIP Manager in other special projects assigned to the Office. COURT EXECUTIVE 2B (Family Division Manager): Superior Court of New Jersey, Ocean Vicinage, Toms River, New Jersey  Duties: Under the general direction of the Assignment Judge and Court Executive 3b (Trial Court Administrator), plans, directs and administers the work of the Family Division.  The Court Executive oversees Vicinage XV court operations; formulates and directs the implementation of Judiciary Plans, programs, policies and procedures; and manages Judiciary resources. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 2 (CONFIDENTIAL): Morris County Courthouse, Family Division, Morristown , New Jersey .  Summary: The Morris County Family Division is seeking a high motivated individual to serve as the Administrative Specialist 2 Confidential.  Duties: Under the direction of the Court Executive 2B (Vicinage Chief Probation Officer), the selected individual will be responsible for providing Vicinage-wide administrative support to the division. COURT EXECUTIVE 1A: Office of Trial Court Services, Family Practice Division, AOC, Trenton , New Jersey .  Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a highly motivated individual to represent the family division in the design and implementation of the new automated child support system (NJKIDS), The Child Support Training Institute and The Learning Management System.
