PATERNITY AND CHILD SUPPORT SECTION SUPERVISOR: Family Court, District of Columbia Courts. Summary: Incumbent is responsible for assisting in the management the operations of the Paternity and Child Support Branch. The Branch is responsible for the adjudication of cases involving paternity establishment and child support, its enforcement and the secure maintenance and storage of records resulting from these activities. Duties: Incumbent is responsible for supervising the Intake/Calendar or Docketing Section and its staff. Ensures that the Intake/Calendar Section is operating efficiently in accordance with branch policies and established procedures thereby providing quality assurance of the integrity of the Court’s docket and files. DEPENDENCY COURT CASE MANAGER: Juvenile Case Management Unit. Summary: This is responsible court case coordination work with an emphasis on tracking compliance with Adoptions and Safe Families Act (ASFA) and Florida statutes affecting dependency division cases.  The position is responsible for maintaining databases, serving the court by collecting and reporting on case/program data, facilitating child support orders, domestic violence injunctions, interacting with other Courts System personnel and the community to facilitate case management. The primary focus of this role is to assist the court in providing accountability for the implementation of all relevant court orders and service plans consistent with the child’s well being and permanency outcomes. Duties: Attends court sessions or hearings to obtain pertinent information to facilitate expeditious case disposition and tracking. Networks with parties before or after the court hearing to retrieve or provide information that may be useful with, and not limited to the follow-up of the case, case flow, Chapter 39 compliance, child support, and other relevant court issues. Provides assistance to judges in the management of caseloads, maintenance of database for open cases; monitors open cases and advises the judge of cases needing attention. Reviews and compiles information of pertinent issues to track implementation and provide case status reports to the court. Networks with court agency partners regarding status of court orders. Networks with other branch courts as needed regarding court case specific information. Identifies events and trends that negatively impacting case flow. Assist with Dependency Domestic Violence cases as needed. Assist with Dependency Child Support Orders as needed. Assists with other court matters as needed, including identifying family law companion cases or other court related case involvement. As needed or requested by the judiciary, provides information that may assist in contacting outside agencies. Prepares notices, summons, schedules hearings, and determines whether to set an appropriate hearing or proceed without a hearing and prepare appropriate court order or correspondence. Assists the court in eliminating duplicative or redundant orders, meetings and services, via court reports. Review of client case status via Odyssey, CJIS, Miami-Dade Police Department, on-demand, Corrections and other court related data systems. Attends and participates at meetings, in trainings and court related events. Performs related work as required. Qualifications: Graduation from a four year college or university with course work in business, court or public administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or related fields and two years experience in court calendaring and case coordination work involving familiarity with the laws, procedures and operations of the courts or Master’s Degree. UNIFIED FAMILY COURT PROGRAM MANAGER: Unified Family Court/Complex Litigation Division. Summary: In accordance with a mandate issued by the Florida Supreme Court in May 2001, the Unified Family Court was established as a mechanism to provide a comprehensive, coordinated approach to handling these complex matters (“one family, one judge”), with the overall purpose of promoting judicial economy, ensuring consistent rulings, and eliminating duplication of resources. Supervision for the Program Manager is under the Division Director, who is responsible for the identification, coordination, and transfer of all related cases pursuant to the circuit’s Administrative Order, and for carrying out the vision of the circuit’s UFC model. Duties: Handle daily operational issues as they arise relating to UFC, including the transfer of cases,  and the coordination of cases between the multiple system partners and users; Handle inquiries and notifications of related cases from the judiciary, court staff, litigants, and attorneys for possible transfer and coordination of qualifying UFC cases; Review daily UFC Reports and Notifications of Related Cases in order to identify cases for coordination and possible transfer to UFC; Prepare orders for transfer, and provide summary information on related case histories and activity; Coordinate active/pending and related closed cases so as to avoid the issuance of conflicting court orders; Act as liaison between the multiple court divisions which have related matters either closed or pending; Provide judicial support, coordinate court calendars, provide resources and service delivery, and other related duties; Conduct case management of UFC caseloads, measuring status and outcomes;  Analyze activity reports for the purpose of efficient and effective case management; Track, compile, and analyze statistical data and measuring trends in the form of reports; Facilitate front-end outreach for filing of UFC cases through the legal community, Daily Business Review, Court Website, etc.; Research best practices in other jurisdictions for local adaptation and implementation; and Other such related administrative work as necessary to support the operations of the UFC and the UFC Advisory Board (FLAG). Perform related work as required. Qualifications: Graduation from a four year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public administration, psychology or a related field; graduation from an accredited law school and Juris Doctorate degree preferred. Five years of professional experience in the court system with dependency/delinquency/family law/domestic violence issues or comparable agency; substantial dependency experience preferred. Salary: $45,303 (2012).

MEDIATOR – FAMILY COUNSELOR: Mediation and Conciliation Court Services. Kingman, AZ. Summary: Position is responsible for performing a variety of divorce mediation, counseling, parent education and related services to parties filing a petition for assistance from the court regarding child custody and parenting time. Qualifications: Ideal candidates should possess a Master’s Degree in Mediation/Conflict Resolution, Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or closely related field from an accredited college or university; two years progressively responsible experience in family oriented mediation, counseling, family counseling, or closely related experience; and a minimum of six hours of domestic violence training and six hours of child abuse training OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Salary: $1,559 - $1,636/biweekly (2011).

FAMILY COURT MEDIATOR: San Bernardino Superior Court. Summary: Under direction, prepares court reports after providing professional counseling and investigative services related to the family law matter, including child custody/visitation and premarital assessments to individuals and families referred by the Superior Court. Performs related duties as required to meet the needs of the Court. Duties: Conducts child custody recommending counseling to resolve child custody and/or visitation disputes and to assist parties in formulating parenting plans. Provides crisis intervention and short-term counseling services to families and individuals experiencing family relationship difficulties by using individual and group counseling techniques. Completes risk assessments to rule out domestic violence, child abuse or any other safety, health or welfare concerns that may affect family members safety; addresses problems identified and refers parties to community agencies for long-term counseling when necessary. Examines court case files and court computer information systems to obtain pertinent data for assessment. Interviews parents, minors, and other case related persons (i.e. school officials, law enforcement personnel, social service personnel). Obtains, reviews and evaluates medical and mental  health records and other pertinent medical information; may recommend for psychiatric or  psychological evaluations. Prepares court reports with recommendations that integrate an  understanding of the laws relevant to family law; develops custody and visitation agreements; may be required to testify in court regarding same. May supervise one or more interns working at Family Court Services. May speak before community groups to further community acceptance of the program.  Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Psychology, Marriage, Family or Child Counseling, Social Work or other related behavioral science and two years of increasingly responsible professional child custody investigations, family or mediation counseling or psychotherapy experience in a setting related to the areas of responsibility of the court or any combination of training and experience that could provide the desired knowledge and abilities.  Salary: $63,814 - $81,536 (2011).

STAFF ASSISTANT: Family Court, District of Columbia Courts. Washington, DC. Summary: The incumbent provides clerical, administrative, research and limited analytical support to the Office of the Family Court Director. Duties: This includes, but is not limited to, data entry for the Family Treatment Court program, reviewing, researching and analyzing information produced through reports on Family Court performance. Works under the direction of the Family Court Coordinator and with other staff to assist in the preparation of the Family Court annual, monthly and quarterly statistical reports which include editing, compiling, coding and hand tabulation of data. Oversees the coordination of the Family Court’s “Hooked on Books” program. Assists in administrative functions relating to special projects within the division. COURT EXECUTIVE 1B (ASSISTANT FAMILY DIVISION MANAGER): Superior Court of New Jersey, Morris/Sussex Vicinage, Sussex County Judicial Center. Newton, NJ. Summary: This individual will assis the Family Division Manager with the administration and management of daily operations in the Family Court of Sussex County. The selected candidate will offer creative ideas/solutions with regard to conflict management and will demonstrate strong technical skills in the areas of case processing. SUPERIOR COURT COORDINATOR: Summary: The incumbent will work as part of the Unified Family Court providing program support in dependency cases. Duties: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: identifying, reviewing and evaluating dependency cases at the time filing and cases where the dependent youth are also in juvenile offender status; reviewing petitions, motions and orders for sufficiency; monitoring case processing deadlines; identifying case issues, including services and service gaps; coordinating treatment and other status reports. Serves as the primary liaison between the Court, parties and other participants and will develop and influence relationships with stakeholders that support the program. ASSOCIATE DEPUTY DIRECTOR: Family Court Social Services, District of Columbia Courts. Washington, DC. Duties: The incumbent assists the Deputy Director in providing leadership and guidance in critical areas throughout the Family Court Social Services (CSS) Division including, but not limited to: information and technology enhancements, analysis of legislative measures impacting the Division, and development of documents designed to enhance understanding of the DC juvenile justice system and the role played by CSS. Serves as an experienced member of the Division’s senior management team, lending assistance and support toward the accomplishment of goals and objectives. Provides oversight and supervision for CSS’ Contract Monitoring, Data and Financial Analysis Unit. Provides oversight, direction and senior level review of referral and invoice processing, routine monitoring of contract services, and contract expenditures ensuring that: referrals are processed within appropriate timelines; services are delivered in accordance with contractual agreements; and vendors are monitored for compliance. FAMILY COURT MASTER: Second Judicial District Court, Washoe County, NV. Summary: The Second Judicial District Court is seeking a dynamic candidate for the position of Family Court Master. The Court Master presides over hearings and assumes case management responsibilities over cases involving juvenile delinquency, dependency (abuse/neglect), child support enforcement, paternity, domestic violence protection orders, out-of-state custody orders, guardianship matters and other family issues as assigned by Family Court judges. Duties: This incumbent is responsible to process applications for emergency protection orders including interviewing applicants and preparing orders. The Court Master will process all motions pending in assigned cases including such matters as domestic violence, contempt, modifications, and requests for hearings. This person who fills this position will serve as liaison to the Protection Order Advocates Office as well as other community agencies involved with areas related to case assignments and family law matters such as law enforcement, prosecutors, municipal and justice courts, and CAAW with the goal of working toward a consistent, community-wide response to issues affecting the Court. In the course of this role, the Court Master will be required to review court reports, CASA reports, psychological reports, substance abuse evaluations, IEPs, and letters from interested parties applicable to pending Court matters. COURT EXEUTIVE 2B: Family Division Manager. Bridgeton, NJ. Summary: Under the general direction of the Assignment Judge and Court Executive 3B (Trial Court Administrator), plans, directs and administers the work of the Family Division. Duties: Court Executive oversees Vicinage XV court operations; formulates and directs the implementation of Judiciary plans, programs, policies and procedures; and manages Judiciary resources. Prepares and analyzes case processing statistical reports; prepares and administers the budget; prepares supervisory staff and performance evaluations; recommends disciplinary and/or employee recognition actions; and determines goals and objectives. COURT EXECUTIVE 2B: Family Division Manager. Newark, NJ. Summary: Under the general direction of the Court Executive 3B (Trial Court Administrator) and in an executive component relationship with the Presiding Judge, the Family Division Manager (Court Executive 2B) will be responsible for leading the staff and operations of the Family Division. Duties: Management of approximately 47,000 – 50,000 cases annually of Child Abuse and Neglect, Juvenile Delinquency, Dissolution/Non-Dissolution and Domestic Violence. CASE MANAGER: Family Services, Second Judicial District Court. Washoe County, NV. Summary: Under general supervision, performs complex and highly confidential case management work in the District Court Family Services Program (currently recognized as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Mediation and Peace Center) involving the assignment, supervision, and review of referred court cases, including the work related to volunteers of such programs; may facilitate the expansion of supervised visitation and exchange services of the Peace Center program. SITE LIAISON: Model Court, Permanency Planning for Children Department, Child Victims Act Model Courts. Reno, NV. Summary: The focus of this position is to serve as a Model Court Liaison to the national Child Victims Act Model Courts and to support the development of other potential Model Court jurisdictions. CHILD PLACEMENT REVIEW (CPR) BOARD MEMBER: Superior Court of New Jersey, Union Vicinage. Summary: The Child Placement Review Board (CPRB) is a legislatively mandated judicial volunteer program in the Family Division of Superior Court. Boards are made up of citizen volunteers who are appointed by the Family Division Presiding Judge to review the cases of all children placed outside of their homes by the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS). Summary: The Judiciary of New Jersey, Hudson Vicinage, is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic professional to lead in a challenging environment. FAMILY LAW OPERATIONS MANAGER: Superior Court of California, County of Orange. Summary: The Family Law Manager position is located at the Lamoreaux Justice Center in Orange and is responsible for the management of 110 staff members through two deputy managers and nine subordinate supervisors. This position provides oversight to Family Law Operations which include: Court Services, Case Processing, Electronic Records, Physical Records, Filing County, Court Child Support Unit and the Office of the Family Law Facilitator. It also provides support to 17 Bench Officers and Reports Directly to the Executive Director of the Lamoreaux Justice Center. Duties: Plan, organize and direct the activities of Family Law operations. Manage, through two deputy managers and nine subordinate supervisors, staff that provide direct support and services to the Bench and to the public/court users. Evaluate department needs and formulate/administer plans, policies and programs in support of organizational goals and objectives; assist in budget planning/administration. Collaborate, support, and confer with the Family Law Supervising Judge in formulating policy, establishing new procedure, implementing new case flow management ideas. Establish and maintain standards and ensure legal compliance. Administer grant funded programs including the AB1058 Child Support Commissioner and Family Law Facilitator Programs. Act as liaison with judicial officers, law enforcement, county agencies, the Bar, AOC and other organizations on Family Law matters. Monitor and analyze proposed and chaptered legislation, Judicial Council form and rule changes to determine impact and implementing new policy/procedures as necessary. Participate in discussions regarding the development and implementation of the California Case Management System for Family Law. Oversee the hiring, development, training and discipline of staff. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience as a Court Operations Manager with the Superior Court of CA, County of Orange; OR Three years of court management experience; OR Three years of professional experience with a statewide or nationwide organization that has responsibility for policy making in a court or court related environment. Desirable Qualifications: Significant management experience and expertise in the field of Family Law; Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in business, public administration, criminal justice, behavioral science, or closely related field; OR Any combination of education, training and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities required of this position; OR Completion of the Institute for Court Management’s Court Management Program (CMP) certificate program or the Court Executive Development Program. FAMILY COURT ADMINISTRATOR: North Carolina Judiciary, Judicial District 14 (Durham, NC). Summary: The person in this position has overall responsibility for Family Court under the direction of the Chief District Court Judge and Trial Court Administrator. Duties: This person will supervise Family Court staff and the operations of Family Court including: case management, programs, policies and procedures, timely preparation of reports, and customer services. In addition, the Family Court Administrator will serve as liaison between the court, community agencies and volunteer groups, work with the Trial Court Administrator to ensure appropriate court time is allocated for Family Court matters, and coordinate alternative dispute resolution (ADR) programs and services. MASTER – FAMILY LAW: Family Division, Prince George’s County Circuit Court, Upper Marlboro, MD. Duties: This Family Division Master is an officer of the Court assigned to assist the Circuit Court judges in handling matters within the Family Division Case Management plan. The Master will also be cross-trained to handle matters within the Family Division Domestic and Child Support Case Management Plans. The Master will conduct scheduling conferences, hearings and review of domestic, child support, family and juvenile law matters in accordance with the applicable Maryland Law and Rules of Procedure. Qualifications: The incumbent must be a practicing attorney in good standing, admitted to the Maryland Bar, with a minimum of five years experience in the practice of family law in Maryland. Prince George’s County residency preferred but not required. Although this position serves the judges of the Prince George’s County Circuit Court, it is a state position. MEDIATOR: Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa, Family Court Services. Summary: The Superior Court in Contra Costa County is inviting applications from qualified applicants interested in a position with the Court as a Family Court Services Mediator. Under direction of the Family and Investigative Services Manager, incumbents provide mediation services in custody and/or visitation disputes as required by California Family Code Section 3170 as well as custody evaluation services as appropriate. Two years of experience in counseling or psychotherapy, or both, preferably in a setting relating to the areas of responsibility of the family court and with the ethnic populations to be serviced. (Additional post-degree counseling and/or psychotherapy experience is desirable). License is not required, although possession of one of the following professional licenses is desired: a valid license as a LCSW, or MFT issued by the State of California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, or a valid license as a Psychologist issued by the State of California Board of Medical Quality Assurance, Psychology Examining Committee. Knowledge of: principles and techniques used in family mediation and the function of mediation services in the courts; procedures and techniques used in child custody and visitation evaluations; general knowledge of the law, regulations and court procedures governing the operation of family court services programs in California and of community resources available to clients. Ability to: analyze and evaluate complex interpersonal and family relationships which requires the application of specialized counseling skills; effectively communicate orally and in written form; and prepare reports in a clear and concise manner.
