KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION SERVICES ANALYST: National Center for State Courts, Williamsburg, VA. Summary: The National Center for State Courts (NCSC), a national court improvement organization, is seeking to fill the position of Knowledge and Information Services Analyst in Williamsburg, VA. The position is responsible for responding to requests for knowledge, information, and data related to the state courts. Duties: Duties include providing technical assistance to courts and responding to inquiries regarding court policies, procedures, and processes, financial management budgeting and other court specific issues; and identifying and analyzing information relevant to emerging trends in court administration. Qualifications: Applicants must have an advanced degree in public or judicial administration, public policy, or a law degree and 2-3 years relevant work experience; or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Demonstrated experience using on-line and web-based research tools, a working knowledge of Excel, ability to use and interpret statistics, effective oral and written communication skills, plus excellent customer service skills are required. Knowledge of court operations/management and experience working in the court system is preferred. The ability to handle multiple assignments; analyze budget information, summaries and other narrative materials is required. Salary: $46,286-$49,000. (2007)

ASSISTANT SITE LIAISON: National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, Reno Office. Summary: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting juvenile and family courts and communities to develop, prioritize and reach court improvement goals. Overall familiarity required regarding court practices and processes of courts nationwide. Will communicate with Department Director and staff regarding findings and must balance individual efforts with team in planning and decision-making among staff members. Duties: Observation and analysis of court and systems practice; group or meeting facilitation; preparation of technical assistance publications; collection and dissemination of court improvement information including court practices and protocols, legislation, and practice standards; successful grant and report writing; development and implementation of training, workshops, symposia, and conferences. A Site Liaison is expected to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with staff, judges and key system participants in each designated jurisdiction. Travel required. Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in a relevant field which may include law, psychology, sociology, social work, organizational behavior, juvenile justice, family or domestic violence, or child welfare from an accredited university, or a minimum of four years of relevant field experience. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both in verbal and written form, with members of the judiciary, court and social service professionals, legislators and national organizations. Must possess independent analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrate ability to work within a team situation. Initiative, organization, and follow-through required, with emphasis placed on ability to initiate innovative methods in strategic planning. Salary: $40,000 - $55,000. (2007)

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SPECIALIST: American University School of Public Affairs. Duties: This position plans, coordinates and monitors the provision of technical assistance services and participates in both on-site and office-based technical assistance to state and local units of government for U.S. Department of Justice-sponsored justice system technical assistance projects. It involves frequent communication with senior practitioners and elected officials and substantial data gathering, coordination, and compilation and analysis of operation and evaluative data. Qualifications: Minimum of two years of experience in research or operational support of a program of technical assistance to communities or justice agencies relating to public policy or social service issues (preferably relating to justice administration, law or a related field). Excellent writing and verbal communication skills and demonstrated analytical ability in interpreting data and communicating findings dealing with the specialized subject matter of technical assistance delivery to justice system agencies. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively to an audience of senior public officials. Knowledge of word processing and relational database software and current proficiency in WP/Windows, Word, Paradox and Excel. Knowledge of fiscal and programmatic reporting requirements of Federal Government-sponsored projects, particularly those of the Department of Justice. Master’s Degree, majoring in justice administration or related or currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in judicial administration, law or a related field. Salary: $33,500 - $45,000. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE: National Center for Juvenile Justice, Pittsburgh, PA. Summary: The National Center for Juvenile Justice (a private, non-profit, research organization based in Pittsburgh) is seeking a social Science researcher. Qualifications: Candidates should have a M.S. or (preferably) a Ph.D. in a social science, a background of research design and implementation, the capability of preparing and analyzing large data files, competence with standard statistical analysis packages (e.g., SPSS), and experience writing quantitatively based research reports. Research/evaluation experience in the juvenile or criminal justice field is preferred. (2006)

RESEARCH ANALYST: The National Center for State Courts (NCSC), Williamsburg, VA. Summary: NCSC provides leadership and service to state courts through research, training, technical assistance and other services. We are seeking a Research Analyst to work in a team-based, applied research environment, supplying court leaders with research that directly affects courts in such areas as domestic violence, sentencing, court workload and performance, civil justice, jury management, and more (see "http://www.ncsconline.org/d_research" for our research program). Duties: The Research Analyst will work on projects that collect and analyze data from every court in the country and will participate in other research projects as well, not only collecting and analyzing data, but also drafting reports and presenting information to diverse audiences. Qualifications: Qualified applicants must have an M.A. in the social sciences, public policy, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Expertise in Excel and SPSS is a must; database and Web design experience preferred.Salary from $37,764 depending on experience and qualifications. NCSC offers a comprehensive benefits package. MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION OFFICER: Full-time position available in Williamsburg, VA with the National Center for State Courts (NCSC), a national court improvement organization. Duties: The position will serve as a technical resource for the Institute for Court Management’s eLearning programs and assist with staffing of the NCSC’s EdTech Center and Conference room facilities. The position has primary responsibility for assisting with web components of eLearning programs using on-line education and meeting software such as WebCT, BlackBoard, WebEx, Astound and Placeware. Knowledge of and experience with web development software such as Flash, Director or Dreamweaver or other web development applications required. Hands on experience with computer networks and graphics programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and Publisher essential, in addition to a familiarity with computer programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat Writer, Access and Excel. Qualifications: Experience providing technical support for video production, video conferencing or video camera operation preferred. Ability to prioritize, plan, coordinate, and execute multiple tasks within assigned deadlines and ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers required. Skills in communication and coordination within a team environment critical. Applicants must have an Associate’s degree in a technical, communication or skill specialty area in a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred) and three years eLearning, web development, multimedia production and computer and experience or any other combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the job.
