CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR: Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa. Summary: The Superior Court of Contra Costa County is recruiting to fill a Custodial Supervisor position. Under the direction of the Director, Court Facilities and/or the Facilities Services Manager, the Custodial Supervisor plans, organizes, supervises and coordinates the cleaning and maintenance of Court buildings and facilities and performs other related work as required. Duties: Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, inspects and evaluates the work of subordinate custodial employees and contract custodial agencies; Trains custodial staff in appropriate methods to perform custodial duties in a safe, efficient manner, and ensures that staff follow the correct procedures; Inspects interior and exterior of buildings and facilities for appearance, cleanliness, and sanitary conditions; Orders and arranges delivery of  supplies and equipment and ensures that they are available as needed; Checks equipment for safety, and instructs personnel in the safe and proper use of custodial equipment; Ensures that the equipment is properly maintained, replaced, and available as needed; Meets with customers or Facilities Management to review service levels and to resolve complaints; Oversees window washing, recycling, and/or moving operations; Lifts and carries supplies and equipment which weigh in excess of 75 lbs; Responds promptly and accurately to job-related questions and complaints from subordinate employees and keeps higher level management informed of any potential problems; Prepares and maintains reports and records of maintenance problems, employee timekeeping, labor hours assigned; Works flexible hours in order to oversee both day and night shift staff. Qualifications: Three (3) or more years’ full time or its equivalent custodial experience in commercial, industrial or public agency, performing the full range of custodial duties, including the use of industrial vacuums, buffers, and rug cleaning equipment. One (1) year of the above experience must have been in a lead or supervisory position. OR Any combination of education and experience that provides the candidate with the requisite knowledge skills and abilities to perform the duties of the Custodial Supervisor. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISOR 2: Superior Court of New Jersey, Counties of Atlantic and Cape May. Summary: Superior Court of New Jersey, Operations Division, is seeking a motivated individual to assist in directing and supervising the everyday operations of the court house in the coordination of jury Management, facility maintenance, telephone services, mail, records, transcripts and other assigned duties that fall within the scope of the Operations Division; recommend personnel actions such as hiring, firing and disciplining; determine staff training needs; instruct staff on work related matters; assign, regulate and review work/specific duties to staff in accordance with operating schedules; develop and manage operating budget, advise management of personnel issues; and treat all personnel, clients and the public with dignity and respect. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 2: Counties of Atlantic and Cape May, Superior Court of New Jersey. Summary: Atlantic County Superior Court seeks an Administrative Specialist 2 with excellent customer service and communication skills. This person will maintain work orders and fleet management and coordinate equipment requests for the courthouse. The incumbent will also provide sufficient signage so that the public can negotiate hallways and locate rooms; maintain electronic notification of the location of daily events. Regularly inspect the facility for cleanliness and repair condition recommending methods to enhance building appearance, purchase commodities, compile statistical data, recommend purchases of equipment, materials or supplies. Provide assistance to the telephone administration operation. Assist divisions in delivery of bulky, sensitive supplies and materials or the details of sequential events critical to renovations or relocation. Recommend improvements in the delivery of service; respond as directed by the divisions to all courthouse emergencies and emergency drills either during or after work hours; work effectively with the Purchasing, Information Technology and division staffs in insuring the smooth transition of equipment and staff. Assist General Operations staff as required by division, and perform related duties as required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. One year of technical experience in the area of program evaluation, administrative operations, program analysis or administrative research. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 4: Superior Court of New Jersey, Camden Vicinage. Summary: Under the direction of Court Executive 2B (Operations Division Manager) and other supervisory personnel, the Judiciary is seeking a person with a broad background in construction or facilities. Primary responsibilities include the preparation of technical evaluations of facility projects; conduct quantitative and qualitative research; formulate plans for utilization of technical equipment; regulate the flow of work in accordance with operating schedules; act as a lead worker in assisting employees. This individual will also facilitate discussions among state and county officials regarding new construction, renovation repair and maintenance. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree. Five years of professional experience in Administrative Operations; purchasing, finance and facilities management. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute paraprofessional and professional experience for education on a year-for-year basis. MARSHAL: Supreme Court of Florida. Summary: The Supreme Court Marshal is a constitutional officer and is the custodian of all property, building and grounds, and inventory, and is responsible for security, emergency preparedness, maintenance and facilities management, development and execution of the Court’s operational budget, purchasing and telephone communication services. The Marshal also has the power to insure the execution of the Court’s orders throughout the state. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university and ten years of executive management experience and experience in security or law enforcement is required. Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and facility management is necessary. Salary: $90,000 - $100,000. (2006)

FACILITIES/FURNITURE PROCUREMENT GENERALIST: Eleventh Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals. Summary: The Facilities/Furniture Procurement Generalist reports to the Architect/Facilities Manager on projects assigned by the Assistant Circuit Executive for Space and Facilities. This is a full-time, temporary position for a period of up to two years which may become indefinite. Duties: Assists in the coordination of facilities renovations and interiors projects. Assists in preparation of plans and review of schedules for facilities interiors projects. Monitors progress on facilities maintenance projects and cyclical maintenance through site visits and telephone calls from initial design through task completion. Provides information on facility maintenance problems and cyclical replacement items, and coordinates correction with GSA or outside vendors for the Tuttle Court of Appeals Building and other court facilities as assigned. Assists with recommending to circuit court officials the quality, color, and design of furniture, window coverings, fixtures, and accessories in keeping with policy, regulations, budgetary considerations, and the end user’s personal preference. Assists by preparing space and furniture layouts for renovated space and new construction for judicial officers and court support offices using automated systems including word processing, spreadsheet, and project management applications, as well as CAD and manual drafting systems and related software applications. Prepares correspondence and conducts meetings with vendors’ representatives. Determines whether prices are fair and correct; determines if quality meets specification and performance standards. Locates sources of supplies for regular and emergency purchases in the shortest possible times span while adhering to procurement policies. Prepares and processes purchase orders. Reviews invoices regarding items purchased. Maintains and monitors purchasing records and reports. Monitors status of ongoing work assignments and maintains schedules. Contacts various vendors and discusses specific commodity requirements; negotiates costs, secures competitive bids, and issues purchase orders based on cost effectiveness. Acquires and maintains General Services Administration (GSA) and manufacturer’s catalogues and samples, submitting to GSA or vendors the necessary forms for furniture and furnishings acquisitions. Maintains an accounting of all moneys expended as well as the amount remaining in the current budget for furniture and furnishings. Prepares periodic reports of status of projects and/or funding requirements. Assists in the preparation of annual budget for furniture and furnishings. Assists and coordinates with the Custodial Officer who maintains the circuit-wide master personal property list which includes furniture. Qualifications: High school graduation, or the equivalent, plus three years specialized experience, including at least one year equivalent to work at CL26 level. Degree in architecture or related field experience desirable and CAD proficient (AutoCAD preferred). Progressively responsible experience that provides evidence that the applicant has (1) a good understanding of the methods and administrative machinery for accomplishing the work of an organization; (2) the ability to analyze problems and assess the practical implications of alternative solutions; (3) the ability to communicate with others, orally and in writing; and (4) the capacity to employ the knowledge, skills and abilities in the resolution of problems. Progressively responsible experience in an area related to architecture and/or furniture procurement which demonstrates an individual’s ability to perform the duties of this position. Excess specialized experience may be substituted for required general experience. FACILITIES MAINTENANCE WORKER: Judiciary of Guam, Administrative Office of the Courts. Summary: Performs manual labor and semi-skilled work in the maintenance of court building facilities and grounds which include but are not limited to construction and repair of electrical, mechanical, masonry, carpentry; the coordination and preventive maintenance of official vehicles; dispatching and record keeping of transactions. Qualifications: Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent, plus three years of experience in the maintenance of building facilities and grounds, repair of structures, machinery, plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures. Knowledge of the standard principles, methods, practices, techniques, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of building structures, machinery, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment fixtures. Ability to dispatch the appropriate type of automotive equipment from a motor pool operation. Ability to apply safe work practices on the job. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST 3: Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage. Summary: Essex Vicinage is seeking an experienced individual to work in the Facilities Management Unit. The selected individual will install, maintain, troubleshot and repair telecommunications systems and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to: diagnosing malfunctions in lines and equipment; distributions systems; programming software-controlled user features; performing site visits to develop solutions to user needs; and conducting scheduled preventive maintenance routines. Other duties include the coordination and oversight of vendors on repair calls, maintenance of records and equipment; participation in unit meetings and other related work as required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree. Two years of professional experience in analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems and/or installing computer systems applications in a mainframe, local area network, or personal computer environment; planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, wide area networks, or local area networks; generating and maintaining system software; database administration; or systems security. Three years of post secondary education in Computer Science may be substituted for the required education. A Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science may be substituted for the required education and experience. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISOR 2: Superior Court of New Jersey, Union Vicinage. Duties: Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b (Operations Division Manager), assists in directing and supervising everyday operations of the Operations Division in the coordination of maintenance at the Union Vicinage Court Complex; conducts statistical analysis on records retention and duties related thereof; supervises alternate labor force in accomplishing the completion of facilities projects at minimal cost (i.e. Community service, SLAP, county workers, volunteers). Oversees transcription and filings. Maintains database on records for the entire vicinage and maintains destruction inventory. Supports Facilities Operations my filling in for manager or arranging for repairs as necessary in an assigned area. Supervises and evaluates staff. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Three years of increasingly responsible professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in a field related to the technical, administrative or case processing competency being supervised. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute paraprofessional and professional experience for education on a year-for-year basis. MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: This entry level position title within this series. Employees at this level are expected to perform minor repairs and improvements in a variety of trades under the direction of a building or maintenance supervisor. Duties:  The following list of major duties represents a composite list of typical duties performed by individuals in this position. Specific duties performed by an incumbent will vary depending upon the Division and the department within the Division. Assists in servicing and replacing minor plumbing fixtures. Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses.  Assists in minor carpentry and repair work. Maintain machinery, equipment and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, oiling to ensure optimum working order. Applies paint, varnish, and stain to all types of surfaces in order to protect and beautify surfaces using appropriate tools and equipment. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications: A high school diploma and at least one year of general building repair and maintenance. Or the equivalent of education and experience. (2005)

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: This is the second level position title within this series.  Employees at this level are expected begin to develop a trade of expertise utilized by the Court Facilities Bureau and have the ability to work independently in the performance of standard maintenance and repairs. Duties: Performs preventive maintenance and make repairs to heating, ventilating, air conditioning equipment according to instructions such as replacing belts on motors, changing filters, bearing, etc. Maintains and makes routine repairs to electrically powered equipment and appliances according to instruction from senior technicians and equipment service manuals. Apply carpentry techniques and using carpentry tools to construct, alter, repair, and/or install walls, stairs, floors, ceiling, windows, doors, roofs, gutters, lock, etc. Perform structural repair, alterations, or improvement work such as preparing surfaces for plaster or cement work; studding, wiring, and plastering walls. Install glass in doors in windows. All duties covered under Maintenance Technician I. Perform related duties as required. Qualifications: A minimum of two years experience working at the entry level. A demonstration of competence and expertise in an area of specialization consistent with licensed and unlicensed trades utilized by the Court Facilities Bureau. CARPENTER: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: Maintains buildings and related structures applying carpentry techniques and using carpentry tools to construct, alter, repair and/or install walls, stairs, floors, ceilings, windows, doors, roofs, gutters, locks, air-conditioners, handicapped chair rails and ramps, shelving, etc. Inspect buildings needing carpentry repair of alterations, estimates job duration and the cost and/or quantities of labor and materials needed to complete the job.  Interprets and/or draws up sketches, patterns, blueprints, instructions and/or layouts of work to be done. Perform structural repair, alteration or improvement work such as lowering ceilings and paneling rooms; preparing surfaces for plaster or cement work; studding, wiring, and plastering walls and cracks in floors or around windows; taping joints on sheetrock; and precementing and/or replacing Formica tops.  Confers with various department heads or manager regarding handling of emergencies, the feasibility of performing repair or alterations and the scheduling of work. Qualifications: Must have at least four years of full-time experience in carpentry, woodworking or cabinet-making work or a combination of two years experience and a diploma or certificate from a recognized trade, technical or vocational school at high school level. ELECTRICIAN: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: Tests, repairs, installs and/or maintains various types of electrical systems and equipment by operating the appropriate equipment and tools to ensure proper maintenance and functioning of necessary equipment. Trouble shoots electrical and related equipment using necessary electrical equipment and by reading schematics diagrams and outlines to identify and correct operations problems. Maintain an adequate inventory of equipment and materials. Qualifications: Possession of current and valid Massachusetts journey man electrician's license issues by the Board of State Examiners of Electricians. Knowledge of state and local electrical codes. ELEVATOR REPAIRPERSON: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: Inspects and tests elevators and related machinery to ensure that they meet legal operating requirements. Review plans and specifications for proposed installations or alteration s of elevators and related machinery. Test elevator to ensure the receipt of certificates of inspections. Provide technical assistance by responding orally or in writing to inquiries. Perform periodic inspections in compliance with public safety requirements.  Coordinates and schedules inspections with other agencies and contractors maintaining personal logs, compiles statistical data and represents the agency at hearing or meetings. Qualifications: Possession of a current and valid License as an Maintenance Man and Repairman issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety. (2005)

HVAC TECHNICIAN: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: Installs, repairs, alters and maintains existing heating, venting and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and systems. Troubleshoots HVAC equipment and systems. Run standard tests to determine whether finished work meets specifications.  Inspect facility to determine the need for maintenance and repair to HVAC equipment.  Establish priorities and make recommendations concerning work activities. Qualifications: Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts journeyman license in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in interpreting blueprints and plans, estimating costs for renovations, maintenance/repair of HVAC systems.  (2005)

LOCKSMITH: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: Install lock devices in doors, desks, office equipment and other units. Repairs and/or overhauls locking devices such as mortise, rim, key-in-the knob locks, dead bolt, office equipment, padlocks and emergency exit locks by repairing for replacing worn tumblers, springs or other parts of locking devices; by making alterations to locking mechanisms and units; and/or by replacing escutcheons and face plates on doors to change the size of existing holes to assure correct Fitchburg District Court. Repairs and/or install locks containing dual locking capabilities by reworking locking devices designed to work in conjunction with other components and equipment to form a complete security of surveillance systems. Changes lock combination by inserting new or repaired tumblers into locks in order to increase security. Qualifications: Must have at least four years of full-time experience in locksmithing work or a combination of one year experience and a diploma or certificate form a recognized trade, technical or vocational school at high school level. Knowledge of methods and techniques used in installing and repair of lock or lock assemblies. (2005)

MASON/PLASTERER: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: Lay bring, stone, and cement blocks using a variety of hand and power tools such as brick or napping hammer, brick or shill saw, pick, chisel and hammer to build, alter, repair and/or maintain brick and/or concrete surfaces and structures such as sidewalks, partitions, floors, chimneys, etc. Plasters walls and ceiling. Prepare surfaces for plastering or cement work. Pours concrete in molds or forms to make slabs or blocks. Erects and dismantles scaffolding, riggings, and/or ladders. Reads instructions and interprets blueprints and sketches to determine work to be done.  Repairs masonry and walls by patching with cement or plaster. Tape joints on sheetrock. Perform related duties such as caulking and waterproofing cracks in walls and floors; coring holes through cement or marble floors; cleaning tools and equipment; laying-out cement or marble floors; cleaning tools and equipment; laying-out drop cloths; studding, wiring, and plastering door and window openings, etc. Order materials and supplies. Repair and maintain power tools to ensure proper operation. Qualifications: Must have at least (2) two years of full-time experience as stonemason, marble setter, bricklayer or plaster, or any combination of the required experience. A diploma or certificate from a recognized trade or vocational school, may be substituted for a maximum of one year of experience. (2005)

PAINTER: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: Applies paints, varnish, and/or stains to all types of surfaces (e.g. wood, metal, plaster, etc.) In order to protect and beautify such surfaces using appropriate utensils and equipment such as paint spraying machines. Prepares surfaces for painting using appropriate tools, equipment, and techniques. Selects the types and colors of paints, varnish or stain and mixes, blends and prepares the same for proper color match. Erects repairs, maintains and operates staging, and scaffolding following accepted safety practices in order to gain access to areas needing painting. Estimate length of time, cost, and quantities of materials and manpower needed to complete a job. Operates, cleans and maintains hand and power tools, air compressors and painting equipment. Confers with supervisors and department heads regarding the scheduling of work, the handling of emergencies and the feasibility of installing painting equipment and materials in the area in order to ensure the needs of the agency are met expeditiously and at a convenient time.  Prepares surfaces for plaster or cement work by taping joints on sheetrock, caulking and waterproofing walls and cracks in floors, etc. by using appropriate tools and equipment. Performs related duties such as preparing various reports; maintaining records and files; setting up signs and barricades; reading instructions on lay-outs; removing and replacing glass; drilling holes in signs; printing letters and signs; laying out drop cloths; and moving office furniture. Based on assignment, may operate road-line painting machines and sand blasting equipment.  Read and/or interpret blueprints, sketches, instructions or layouts to understand work to be done. Qualifications: Must have at least three years of full-time experience in painting work or a combination of two year experience and a diploma and certificate from a recognized trade, technical or vocational school at high school level. PLUMBER: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: Install, repairs, and alters steam plumbing systems. Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, instructions or layouts to understand construction work to be done. Schedules installation, maintenance, and/or repair work by conferring with supervisors and other department personnel to determine location of equipment and appropriate time to complete the project. Estimates length of time, cost of materials and manpower needed to develop a project budget. Estimates length of time, cost of materials and manpower needed to develop a project budget. Handle complaints from building occupants regarding assigned work and take appropriate corrective action. ROOFER: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: Maintains, repairs and replaces all types of roofing materials using tools and equipment of the trade. Repairs leaks in metal roof, walls, and ceilings by soldering, crimping, riveting, and welding seams in sheet metal and installing flashing and waterproof felt using appropriate hand and power tools to reduce water damage and restore water-tight integrity. Erects, repairs maintains and operates staging and rigging, following accepted safety practices to gain access to make necessary repairs to roofs. Fabricates miscellaneous metal parts such as gavel guards, gutters, spouts, pipes, by cutting, drilling, tapping and soldering metal to meet roofing requirements.  Schedules installation of equipment, materials, etc. by conferring with department heads to determine location of equipment within their department and best time to do the necessary work. Qualifications: Must have at least two years of full-time experience in roofing work or a combination of one year experience and a diploma or certificate from a recognized trade, technical or vocational school at high school level. CUSTODIAN I: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: This is the entry level position title within this series. Employees at this level are expected to clean and keep in an orderly condition courthouse premises by providing custodial and janitorial services. Duties: Keeps buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing a combination of activities including cleaning assigned areas. Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of floors by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming. Washes interior surfaces of buildings such as walls, ceilings, windows, etc. using appropriate supplies and equipment.  Empties waste receptacles and disposes of refuse. Dust and polishes furniture. Performs related duties such as loading and unloading equipment and supplies from vehicles; moving furniture in rooms for special functions or meetings. Performs outside duties such as washing windows, sweeping walks, shoveling snow, and picking up trash.  Receives immediate supervision in performing structured but not routine work. Limited discretion is required.  Performs related duties as required. Qualifications: One to three years experience in basic custodial/janitorial duties. Abilities to perform physical labor, and follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of methods followed in building custodial work. CUSTODIAN II: Massachusetts Trial Court. Summary: This is the second level position title within this series. Employees at this level are expected to have a complete knowledge of cleaning chemicals, industrial cleaning methods, and the utilization of automatic cleaning equipment. Employees are also expected to function as a lead person on project work, and perform small motor/equipment repairs. Duties: Utilizes advanced custodial equipment such as automatic cleaning equipment, snow blowers, and lawn mowers. Complete knowledge of cleaning chemicals, surface types, industrial cleaning methods, etc. Performs minor repairs to building. Performs small motor/equipment repairs. Functions as lead person on project work. Performs related duties as required. Qualifications: At least three years experience as at the entry level position, working with automatic cleaning equipment and industrial cleaning methods.  Ability to perform physical labor, and follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of methods followed in building custodial work. Knowledge of types and uses of materials, tools, and equipment used in building custodial work. Summary: This is a position with the Office of Court Construction Management (OCCM) of the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) performs the most complex technical inspections of contracted construction or alteration of judicial branch buildings and facilities; supervises assigned staff; performs related work as assigned. Duties: Recommends selection, trains, plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of assigned staff; Coordinates inspector assignments with work flow and variances such as vacations, sick leave, and over time and maintains controls on use of staff time through review of time records, work reports, and mileage claims; Maintains liaison with project managers regarding changes in construction schedules, conflicting work priorities, and quality and quantity of inspection services in order resolve differences and maximize effectiveness of the work of inspection staff; Provides training for inspection personnel in the application of building codes and standards to construction methods, procedures, and standards as they relate to plans, specifications, and work in progress. Contractor/consultant management: Meets with contractors, court staff, and representatives of other agencies to analyze problems and recommend solutions to immediate and longer range construction issues; Issues inspection notices and notices of non-compliance to contractors on incorrect construction methods or materials found during inspection, conferring with contractor on plans and specifications, and issuing correction notices after contractor fails to make acceptable corrections; Arranges and conducts job site conferences with technical consultants, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to review project requirements and clarify or resolve any questions or problems prior to commencing work; Advises commissioned architects, engineers, and contractors regarding the Office of Court Construction and Management requirements and policies; Directs the review of contractors' progress schedules, segregation of contract costs, and requests for payment; Assists in negotiations with contractors on construction matters and may serve as a representative in the settlement of disputes. Prepares and reviews documentation: Supervises and coordinates preparation of inspection cost estimates and maintenance records, reviews construction records and reports to monitor quality and quantity of the work of inspection staff and initiates corrective action as necessary; Reads and studies project specifications, plans, and drawings to become familiar with projects prior to inspection; Prepares inspection reports by recording all significant construction related activities and events such as work completed, work crew on site, weather conditions, change orders, accidents, etc., providing a complete chronological and factual history of inspection on an assigned construction project; Reviews submitted shop drawings for any deviations from contract documents, notifying the project manager of any discrepancies found; Makes inspection reports on the quality of materials and workmanship entering into construction; Recommends, drafts, enforces, and outlines construction inspection policies and procedures as required; Assists in the preparation of briefs on arbitration disputes. Ensures adherence to requirements: Performs and supervises inspections of building and facility projects, ascertaining that the quality of workmanship and materials used in all aspects of the project, such as foundations, building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems conform to the contract documents, building codes, and state and federal legal requirements; Ensures that structural and architectural changes, including changes to the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems have been approved by the appropriate authority; Arranges, coordinates, and oversees special inspections such as structural masonry, structural steel, welding, and reinforced concrete, technical inspections such as electrical, mechanical, landscaping, soil testing, concrete and asphalt mixes, and reinforcing steel, checking test results for conformance to specification requirements; Inspects projects for the adequacy of construction progress; Participates in field determinations relative to the interpretation of contract documents, plans, and specifications; May approve or reject construction materials based on conformance with specifications. Drives a motor vehicle to various inspection sites on a routine basis to perform the above duties; Work occasional evening and weekend hours; Travel statewide frequently. Travel out-of-state on a very limited basis. Qualifications:  Equivalent to possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with coursework in engineering or architecture is required as well as four years of experience as a licensed California general contractor, building construction project lead/working supervisor or field superintendent, architectural/engineering project field coordinator or inspector of facility construction for compliance with building codes, plans, and specifications; qualifying experience must include one year of supervisory experience. Professional experience should include knowledge and abilities regarding: principles and practices of employee supervision; program budgeting, cost analysis, and fiscal management; project management; stress analysis, strength, properties, and uses of various materials in the construction and finishing of wood, steel frame, masonry, and reinforced concrete buildings; building codes, ordinances, and regulations of State and local jurisdictions; pertinent Safety Orders of the State Division of Occupational Safety and Health Labor codes and public contract codes relative to construction; State, County, and local construction ordinances, regulations, and building, labor, and safety codes; methods of mixing, placing, and curing plain and reinforced concrete; methods of testing concrete and other construction materials; methods, and processes used in the construction of wood, steel frame, masonry, and concrete buildings; supervision of a complex inspection program; detection of errors and discrepancies in plans and specifications; calculation of material quantities; records management. Additional experience in technical inspection may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a directly related postgraduate degree may substitute for one year of the required experience (but not for the year of supervisory experience). ACCESSIBILITY COMPLIANCE OFFICER: California Administrative Office of the Court. Summary:  This position is with the Office of Court Construction Management (OCCM) of the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) will plan, conduct, and oversee audits, investigations, surveys, and contractors involving accessibility at court facilities; make recommendations for improvement; and function as subject matter experts in the area of accessibility for persons with disabilities and for those with special needs. FACILITIES MAINTENANCE WORKER: (General Description) Summary: Under general supervision, performs routine duties related to the maintenance of a building and its grounds. May distribute and retrieve mail and perform facility set-up. Duties: Mops floors, cleans stairwells, changes light bulbs, washes windows and polishes floors. Patches and paints walls. Performs limited plumbing, carpentry and masonry work. Sweeps exterior walkways, waters landscape, plants flowers, weeds and mows lawns, and performs snow removal of driveways and walkways. Qualifications: One year of experience in general maintenance, painting, plumbing and landscaping. Knowledge of equipment and tools used to perform duties.
