COURT EXECUTIVE 3B: Counsel’s Office, Office of the Administrative Director, AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an experienced attorney with excellent leadership, analytical, litigation and administrative skills to serve as Counsel to the Administrative Director of the Courts. Duties: This position directs the operations of the Litigation and Hearing Officer units within the Counsel’s Office, as well as renders advice to the Administrative Director on complex legal matters. Additionally, Counsel to the Administrative Director serves as liaison with the Attorney General’s Office, assisting Deputy Attorneys General in the discovery, settlement and/or trial of all Judiciary cases pending in the Superior Court, Appellate and Law Divisions, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Division of Civil Rights, Public Employment Relations Commission and other forums. The selected candidate will oversee the conducting of higher-level grievance and disciplinary hearings; oversee and handle pending cases at the Office of Administrative Law; present management’s case at arbitration hearings; provide advice on the legal impact of proposed or recently adopted legislation affecting the Judiciary; and advise the Administrative Director on pending litigation issues. PARALEGAL: Office of Trial Court Services, Civil Practice Division – Office of Foreclosure, AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is actively seeking a paralegal to assist in processing legal documents in the Office of Foreclosure. Duties: The selected candidate will perform specialized technical work under the direction of an attorney, including review of foreclosure files for accuracy of appropriate mortgage documents and pleadings. Responsibilities will also include screening and reviewing foreclosure case files to help prepare cases for final disposition, and preparing written reports that attorneys use to determine if submitted documents and pleadings in foreclosure actions support entry of a final judgment. Under the guidance of an attorney, the selected individual will prepare writs, orders and other court documents, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Judiciary employees, legal professionals, vicinage trial court staff, title companies, pro se litigants and the public. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate’s degree as a Legal Assistant or in Paralegal Studies, or successful completion of a two-year approved course in Paralegal Training at a recognized educational institution. FORECLOSURE MEDIATION PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR: Supreme Court of Nevada, Carson City, NV. Summary: This position manages the statewide activities of the Foreclosure Mediation Program within the Legal Division at the direction of the State Court Administrator. The Foreclosure Mediation Program provides services regarding the foreclosure of owner occupied residences in the state of Nevada. In addition to supervising the Program staff and activities, the work involves such management functions as developing policies and procedures, coordinating the training of mediators in association with the State Bar of Nevada, insuring orderly and timely mediation, administering the Program budget, and ensuring overall service effectiveness. Duties: Typical duties will include Developing and directing the implementation and operation of a statewide foreclosure mediation program. ATTORNEY ADVISOR: Family Court, District of Columbia Courts. Duties: Reviews records for compliance with all statutory timelines outlined in federal and District of Columbia Adoption and Safe Families Act (D.C. ASFA). Participates in the preparation of summary findings and documentation of improvements required by the Family Court and related agencies to comply with the requirements of ASFA. ASSISTANT CITY PROSECUTOR III: Community Prosecution, Phoenix, AZ. Summary: The Community Prosecutor seeks to improve the quality of life in Phoenix and to solve community problems for the long term by developing and executing strategies with members of the community along with government and private entities. We are seeking to fill two temporary / full-time grant funded positions in the Law Department. It is anticipated that the length of the grant for these positions will be three years. Duties: The community prosecutor participates in specialized legal and administrative assignments, performs legal research, drafts legal memoranda, and handles appellate oral arguments in the highest courts in the state and federal systems. Incumbents are assigned to specific neighborhoods, each with a local office, so they are accessible to their neighborhoods and residents and work with them building community and solving problems for the long term. RESEARCH ATTORNEY: Superior Court of California, Marin County. Summary: Under direction, provides general legal support to the Judges and Commissioners of the Superior Court; analyzes civil motions and civil and criminal appeals, drafts detailed legal memoranda, makes recommendations to the Judges on motions and appeals, drafts proposed orders explaining the basis of the Court’s ruling, and performs related work as required. STAFF ATTORNEY: Supreme Court of Nevada, Criminal Division, AOC. Carson City, NV. Summary: The Criminal Division of the Nevada Supreme Court’s Central Legal Staff is accepting applications for a staff attorney position. Duties: Under the direction of the court and the Legal Counsel for the Criminal Division, staff attorneys in the Criminal Division assist the court in resolving motions and screening for jurisdiction in criminal appeals, advise the court regarding all types of criminal appeals and writ petitions through written memoranda or oral presentations, and prepare written dispositions for the court in criminal appeals and writ petitions. CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION DIRECTOR: State Bar of Nevada. Summary: This senior management position with the State Bar of Nevada provides leadership to the statewide continuing legal education program. The program consists of over 40 live seminars offered annually, two conferences and a menu of self-study programs. As principal of the program the director provides vision and leadership to the education initiatives of the state bar. Duties: Responsibilities include directing the development, delivery and sales of innovative educational programs for attorneys. The director of the program proposes and implements CLE polices and projects, plans and executes the annual budget, supervises the staff and works with the CLE Committee (an all volunteer committee). Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required in business, legal or education related field. Ten years of adult education experience, with at least five years of senior level experience is required. ADOPTION LEGAL ASSISTANT: Family Court, 500 Indiana Avenue, NW, Washington D.C. Duties: The work of Adoption Legal Assistant involves the review of all filings relating to the relinquishments of parental rights and adoptions for compliance with legal requirements. The incumbent also assists in the case processing of adoptions and terminations of parental rights by preparing proposed orders, decrees and case status reports. Summary: Duties: Under general supervision provides legal counsel and advice to the State Court Administrator. DEPUTY LEGAL COUNSEL: Idaho Judicial Branch. Summary: Under the supervision of the Legal Counsel, the Deputy Legal Counsel performs highly responsible legal work for the Idaho Judiciary. Duties: Develop rules of procedure and practices in family law, domestic violence, child protection, and juvenile justice areas. Assist in the development of civil rules of procedure.
