PARALEGAL: Office of Trial Court Services, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is actively seeking a paralegal to assist in processing legal documents in the Office of Foreclosure. The selected candidate will perform specialized technical work under the direction of an attorney, including review of foreclosure files for accuracy of appropriate mortgage documents and pleadings. Duties: Responsibilities will also include screening and reviewing foreclosure case files to help prepare cases for final disposition, and preparing written reports that attorneys use to determine if submitted documents and pleadings in foreclosure actions support entry of a final judgment. Under the guidance of an attorney, the selected individual will prepare writs, orders and other court documents, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Judiciary employees, legal professionals, vicinage trial court staff, title companies, pro se litigants and the public. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate’s degree as a Legal Assistant or in Paralegal Studies, or successful completion of a two year approved course in Paralegal Training at a recognized educational institution. ASSOCIATE LEGAL COUNSEL: Denver, CO. Summary: Provides legal counsel within the State Court Administrator’s Office in a specified area of law. This class describes technical legal work in a specified area of law for the Colorado Judicial Department. This class is distinguished from other classifications on the basis of providing legal work and representation of the Judicial Department in legal proceedings, but does not provide supervisory responsibilities over other staff. Duties: Provides technical legal advice to managers, supervisors and employees in order to avoid or minimize legal liability for Colorado Judicial Department. APPELLATE COURT ATTORNEY: Los Angeles, CA. Summary: Division Seven of the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District located in Los Angeles, is accepting applications for an attorney position on its Central Staff to work directly with Presiding Justice Dennis M. Perluss. The position will be staffed at a level commensurate with the qualifications of the selected individual. Duties: Duties of a Central Staff attorney include: assisting in the drafting of bench memoranda and opinions in assigned cases and reviewing memoranda and proposed opinions in cases assigned to other justices of the Court of Appeal. COURT EXECUTIVE 2A: Bar Admissions Unit, Supreme Court of New Jersey, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary Bar Admissions Unit of the Supreme Court is seeking a person with solid managerial skills to serve as Counsel to the Committee on Character. CJA VOUCHER REVIEW, LIAISON AND TRAINING ATTORNEY: U.S. Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit. Summary: This position is located within the Office of Staff Counsel for the U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. The court is looking for individuals who are organized, detail-oriented, and can express themselves clearly, both orally and in writing. For the successful candidate, the option of part-time employment may be considered upon request. Duties: The incumbent will review fee and expense vouchers in both capital and non-capital cases that are submitted by attorneys appointed under the Criminal Justice Act. The incumbent will review the vouchers for accuracy and compliance with established guidelines and procedures, and will make recommendations as to payment. The incumbent will participate in capital case management conferences and will assist in preparing budgets for capital cases. ATTORNEY 2: AOC, Trenton, New Jersey. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a highly motivated professional to work under the direction of the Chief, Professional Services. ASSISTANT GENERAL COUNSEL:  Atlanta Housing Authority, GA. Summary: Reporting to the General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer, the successful candidate will provide legal advice to internal clients on a broad range of legal matters. Duties: Coordinate matters related to civil, administrative, and other cases to formulate defenses or to initiate legal action against other persons or entities. Manage the administrative hearing process including contracting full evidentiary hearings, preparing findings and documenting conclusions and/or recommendations. Provide regulatory and administrative guidance to the Housing Choice Program, including reviewing Administrative Hearing decisions. STAFF ATTORNEY: U.S. Courts for the Tenth Circuit, Denver Colorado. Summary: The Office of Staff Counsel for the U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals is seeking highly qualified, experienced attorney to serve as staff attorney to the full court. The office currently consists of nineteen attorneys and four support staff. Duties: The Office of Staff Counsel’s principal responsibility is to recommend to the court the disposition of substantive motions, appeals decided without oral argument, original proceedings, and emergency matters. Staff attorneys confer with the judges, conduct legal research, prepare legal memoranda, and draft proposed opinions. Because staff attorneys must be able to advise the judges on difficult, varied, and important legal issues, the court is highly selective in its hiring. ASSISTANT FAMILY LAW FACILITATOR: Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa. Summary: The Superior Court in Contra Costa County is recruiting to fill two Assistant Family Law Facilitator positions in support of the Court’s new Family Law Expansion project. The Family Law Expansion project is designed to provide expanded services to family law litigants. Duties: The individuals appointed to these positions will perform a wide variety of duties under the supervision of the Family Law Facilitator including but not limited to: providing educational materials to parents regarding the process of establishing parentage; establishing, modifying and enforcing child and spousal support in the courts; distributing necessary court forms and voluntary declarations of paternity; providing assistance in completing forms; preparing support schedules based upon statutory guidelines; providing referrals to the local child support agency, Family Court Services and other community agencies and resources that provide services for parents and children; mediating issues of child and spousal support and the maintenance of health insurance; drafting stipulations agreed to by all parties; preparing orders after hearing and judgments; preparing tentative rulings; reviewing paperwork, examining documents and advising the judge on the readiness of cases; and performing other duties at the direction of the Family Law Facilitator. CAPITAL STAFF ATTORNEY: Superior Court of Arizona, Maricopa County. Summary: The Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County, the 5th largest general jurisdiction Court system in the nation, seeks a Capital Staff Attorney.
