COMMISSIONER OF JURORS: New York Unified Court System. Summary: Commissioners of Jurors are responsible for providing qualified grand and trial jurors to the courts. They serve in a confidential capacity supervising activities of qualifying, summoning, non-compliance enforcement, impaneling, and assigning individuals to serve as jurors as provided by the Judiciary Law and other laws, rules, and regulations. Commissioner of Jurors I positions work in counties where the number of jury trials commenced, averaged over three years, is less than 1% of the statewide total (exclusive of New York City). JURY SERVICES MANAGER - COURT OPERATION MANAGERS: Superior Court of California, County of Orange. Summary: The Superior Court of California, County of Orange is actively seeking energetic, enthusiastic and innovative leaders that can plan, direct and coordinate the activities of an operations or administrative division for the Court. Duties: In general, Court Operations Managers plan, direct and coordinate the activities of an operations division for the Court. The Essential Functions of these positions are to: Manage through subordinate supervisors the staff that provide direct support and services to the Bench and to the public/court users. JURY PROGRAM MANAGER: Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court, Albuquerque, NM. Summary: Duties: This position supervises the Jury Management Division which ensures that both the jurors’ needs and those of the Court are met. This Division provides jury panels for approximately 300-350 Metropolitan Court cases requiring a jury trial and develops, maintains and revises standard operating procedures for the Division. of Sacramento. Summary: Acting
under the direction of the presiding judge and at the pleasure
of the judges of the court, the court executive officer serves
not only in that capacity but as the court’s clerk and jury
commissioner. He or she is responsible for overseeing the
management and administration of non-judicial operations of the
court. The responsibilities include allocating resources in a
manner that promotes access to justice for all members of the
public, providing a forum for the fair and expeditious
resolution of disputes, maximizing the use of judicial and other

The minimum educational requirement is a bachelor’s degree

Hunterdon County for Interpreting Services and Records

CLERK TO THE GRAND JURY: Superior Court of
New Jersey, Morris and Sussex
Vicinage, General Operations Division. Summary:
The fast-paced Morris County Jury Management office seeks an
individual with exceptional customer service and communications
skills. Duties: Under
the general direction of the Court executive 1A (Jury Manager),
this individual will be responsible for arranging indictments to
be handed up to the Assignment Judge on a weekly basis, keeping
voting and attendance records for the Grand Jury, providing
orientation to the Grand Jury every four months as well as
operating recording equipment during Grand Jury presentations.
The selected candidate will work in tandem with other Grand Jury
personnel and will be available to assist coworkers within the
Jury management office; to maintain a regulated work flow
including processing jury questionnaires, to process jurors to
the courtroom, to analyze and prepare statistical reports, to
create spreadsheets and charts, to prepare juror payroll using
Excel and Windows and to field juror inquiries in person and via
telephone. The chosen candidate will provide petit juror
orientation as well as conduct school tours in the absence of
the Jury Manager. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications:
Three years of experience in an office environment
performing a variety of clerical and support services to include
keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or
information processing, handling payments or fees, recording
monies received, transcribing information, reconciling balances
or accounts, scheduling meetings, appointments or coordinating
office work flow. NOTE: Strong public speaking skills as well as
knowledge of Word and Excel would be helpful. KEYBOARDING
SKILLS: Applicants for appointment to the band must pass an
appointing authority administered examination to demonstrate
keyboarding skills at the Judiciary standard of twenty-five

BAILIFF:
Superior

Summary:
The
Superior Court seeks to establish a pool of individuals to call
upon to serve as Bailiffs for jury trials. Duties: Performs duties associated with maintaining the integrity of
the jury to include but not limited to: escorting jurors to and
from the courtroom, tending to the needs of the jury, ensuring
that no outside person makes any communication with jurors
during jury deliberation, may escort witnesses, and performing
various clerical and customer service
duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Requires ability to: establish and maintain effective
working relationships, communicate effectively; follow written
and verbal instructions; instruct others; determine appropriate
strategies to anticipate, identify and respond quickly, calmly
and decisively to emergencies and emotionally charged and
stressful situations; and remain sitting for long periods of
time. Also requires the ability to exercise discretion and
maintain confidentiality of court cases and materials. Salary:

AIDE: Superior
Court of New Jersey, Counties of Atlantic and Cape
May, Civil Division. Duties:
Under the direction of supervisory personnel, opens, reads,
analyzes and responds to correspondence related to Juror
summons. Answers written and telephone inquiries from court
staff/litigants and the public to resolve basic jury management
issues. Assists in the coordination of the jury selection
process of potential jurors in a courthouse environment. Directs
jurors to proper courtroom. Functions as a team player within
the work unit of Jury Management. Utilizes strong interpersonal
and customer service skills to address problems within the unit.
Qualifications: Experience
in an office environment and computer knowledge is helpful.
Ability to walk short distances to direct jurors. NOTE: This
position is limited to 944 hours in a fiscal year. Salary:
$11.50 per hour. (2007)
ADMINISTRATIVE
SPECIALIST 2: Superior
Court of
New Jersey, Mercer Vicinage, General Operations Division. Duties: Under the
direction of the Court Executive 2b (Operations Division
Manager) and other supervisory personnel, this individual will
be responsible for professional level administrative functions
in the Jury Management Office including administering the
summoning process for petit and grand jurors; preparing jury
orders; qualifying juror questionnaires; processing jury
payroll; handle jurors’ requests for postponements and
excusals; create jury pools; compile statistical reports
generated from the Jury Automated System; ensuring accurate data
entry; establishing recordkeeping systems; communicate with
judges, jurors and staff; train employees in jury functions;
serve as assistant jury manager and conduct juror orientation as
required. Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a
bachelor’s degree. One year of paraprofessional experience in
the area of program evaluation and/or administrative operations. Applicants
who do not possess the required education may substitute
experience on a year-for-year basis. Salary: $36,746.12 -
$60,202.39. (2007)

The Mercer Vicinage is seeking a highly motivated individual
who treats all personnel, clients and the public with dignity
and respect; prepares trial notices or calendars; informs judges
or hearing officers on the status of case-related matters;
notifies counsel of dates or times of scheduled proceedings;
attends the call of both civil or criminal trial lists to record
information; schedules dates or times for conferences, hearings,
trials, adjournments or “back-up” cases; reviews trial or
other calendars for completeness or accuracy; operates audio or
video recording systems; and orients other courtroom staff on
court-related matters. Qualifications:
