AV TECHNICIAN: United States District Court, Southern District of New York, Office of the District Court Executive. New York, NY. Summary: The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York has an opening for an Audio/Visual Technician based at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Courthouse in Manhattan, with periodic travel to White Plains, N.Y. and Middletown, N.Y. The incumbent is assigned to the District Court Executive=s Office and is responsible for the Court=s Audio/Visual systems and services. Duties: Conducts day-to-day operations of technology used in the court to ensure reliable and effective operation. Serves as principal instructor on courtroom technology to deputy clerks and court personnel. Develops procedural guidelines and training documentation as needed for end users.  Coordinates video and teleconferences for the Court. This may involve scheduling, troubleshooting, setting up equipment, initiating calls and staying on hand to monitor equipment. Responsible for installation, maintenance and inventory of all courtroom technology systems and equipment. Installs and maintains CourtFlow recording systems. This will also include processing transcript orders and maintaining court recordings. Tests and evaluates new technology, in coordination with the Budget Manager, prior to application in the court environment.  Monitors developing technology and recommends, develops, or installs system upgrades or features to satisfy local court needs. This includes making adaptations to national systems; acquisition and planning for the acquisition of specific systems to meet specific local needs; and developing software to meet local needs. AUDIO/VISUAL ASSISTANT: The United States District Court, Southern District of Florida, Clerk’s Office. Miami, FL. Summary: The incumbent performs professional technical work with primary responsibility of the control center for courthouse audio/video systems along with supporting the courtroom technology specialist in coordinating and troubleshooting all activities related to evidence presentation systems throughout the district; including, audio, video, and sound systems; cable television, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems and the audio/video systems control center. Duties: Manage the day-to-day and long-term supporting needs of the above systems, to include installation, support and maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Analyze, evaluate and recommend solutions for the Audio/Visual systems control center. Perform routine maintenance and evaluation on all systems for quality control purposes. Review daily operation on all courtroom technology to ensure reliable and effective operation. Repair or coordinate repair of all systems. Opens and operates the Audio/Video conferencing control center including testing the equipment to ensure that the systems are operating correctly and checks calendar of events to verify that everything is in place for a successful conference. AUDIO/VISUAL TELECOM SPECIALIST: United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Arizona. Phoenix, AZ. Summary: The incumbent provides technical and administrative support on the court’s audio/video and telecommunications systems, which includes but is not limited to audio reinforcement, digital recording, video evidence, video projection, MATV/CATV, satellite, video teleconference, telephonic, chambers management, telephone and telecommunications systems to judges, chamber’s staff and clerk’s office staff. Duties: Develops and implements short-term and long-range audio/visual and telecommunications improvement plans for court and any satellite locations, ensuring that changes can be implemented with minimal disruption to the court site when changes are made.  Determines requirements and oversees all audio/visual and telecommunications technology projects. Conducts market research and develops scope/statement of work. Supervises work performed by court staff as well as court vendors/contractors.  Advises management in all areas of audio/video and telecommunications needs, objectives and capabilities, including anticipation of future requirements and problems. Executes implementation plans approved by the team manager and adopted by the court unit executives for the courtrooms, conference rooms and all other audio/video needs and systems. COURTROOM TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST: United States District Court, District of Connecticut. Hartford, CT. Summary: The Specialist will coordinate all electronic courtroom resources, including installing, supporting, and troubleshooting evidence presentation technology and video conferencing equipment used in court proceedings.  The Specialist will provide support for the Court’s courtroom technology resources, including evidence presentation systems, video conferencing systems, and sound systems.  The Specialist provides guidance and support to judges and support staff of the court, members of the bar, various federal agencies, and others who might use electronic courtroom technology.  The Specialist is responsible for the smooth operation of technology used in a courtroom environment, as well as helping to ensure that persons using these resources are adequately trained.  The successful candidate must possess the ability to exercise mature judgment, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly self-motivated, result-oriented, detail-oriented and organized, and present a professional demeanor. Duties: Coordinates all activities pertaining to the Court’s electronic evidence presentation systems, including:  scheduling the use of evidence presentation systems; setting up equipment and being available for consultation or troubleshooting when evidence presentation systems are being used. Coordinates video conferencing for the Court, including:  scheduling video conferences; setting up video conference equipment; and initiating video calls. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 2: Superior Court of New Jersey, Cumberland/Gloucester/Salem Vicinage, Operations Division. Bridgeton, NJ. Summary: Under the direction of a Court Executive 2B (Operations Division Manager) or other supervisory personnel, this individual will provide technical advice and assistance regarding audio/video recording and video conferencing to supervisors and managers in all divisions. Duties: Also includes the use of sound recording and video equipment, copying tapes and processing transcript requests. Individual keeps abreast of new methods, techniques and equipment used in sound recording, ensures tapes and/or video recordings of court proceedings are properly stored, maintains sound recording equipment and maintains necessary records and files. This individual will also provide support to vicinage facility operations, records coordination, and law library as needed. Performs related duties as required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. One year of paraprofessional experience in the areas of program development, program analysis, program administration or administrative research. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking individuals to work in developing enterprise level applications using object-oriented analysis and design techniques within a structured life cycle methodology. Duties: The selected individuals will develop web and client/server applications supporting court case processing, attorney electronic filing and document imaging functions. Our software and database environments include: J2EE, RSA/WSAD, Websphere Application Server, Tivoli Access Manager/WebSeal/LDAP, Websphere MQ, IBM Content Manager, Websphere Portal Server, RUP methodology, ClearCase/ClearQuest/ReqPro/UCM, IBM DB2, and Webservices/XML. PROGRAMMER II: Colorado Judicial Branch. Denver, CO. Summary: The Programmer II position performs programming assignments at the full operating level for the Colorado Judicial Branch and may function as lead workers or beginning level supervisors.  Positions in this classification are responsible for design, development and codification of programs to automate manual processes for the Colorado Judicial Branch and may lead teams or individual employees in the completion of work assignments.  In addition, work includes performing more advanced programming tasks, original coding, testing routines, writing subroutines and triggers, drawing flow charts, writing operator instructions, formulating simple queries, maintaining utility programs, job control language and input-output handling programs.  Programmer II positions may work closely with a project lead in completing their tasks.  Duties: Demonstrates proficiency using programming languages identified by the CIO (e.g. Java) , to develop efficient, well-structured programs and procedures to accomplish tasks assigned to them. PROGRAMMER: United States District Court, District of Connecticut. New Haven or Hartford, CT. Summary: The successful candidate will perform professional work relating to designing, modifying, and adapting existing software and must possess the ability to exercise mature judgment, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly self-motivated, result-oriented, detail-oriented and organized, and present a professional demeanor. Duties: Duties include writing code to specifications, documenting work, developing custom reports, preparing flow charts, and performing routine testing.  The successful candidate will work closely with the Case Manager/ Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) Administrator to modify existing systems and/or design and build new systems to meet the needs of the court. Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a broad knowledge of: 1) applicable programming languages, databases, and application design; 2) knowledge of computer systems and networks, including skill in determining causes of operating errors; 3) skill in generating or adapting programs, equipment and technology to serve user needs; 4) skill in preparing flow charts; and 5) skill in writing computer programs for various purposes, including skill in writing program documentation. PROGRAMMER/ANALYST: U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. San Francisco, CA. Summary: You will design and maintain court client and web based applications related to an electronic case management and case filing system (CM/ECF) as well as other applications for the court. Duties: Designs, develops, and maintains court client and web-based applications, automated data extracts, reports and alerts. Works with technical writer to provide end-user documentation and written instructions for development projects. Provides guidance and support to others using and supporting the court’s client and web based applications including writing documentation to install and implement development projects. Participates in trial runs of new and supplemental software releases, test in-house software application to ensure they are functioning optimally and as required. Evaluates, installs and configures third party applications/tools as needed. Develops and maintains technical architecture such as hardware and databases needed to implement and maintain internally developed applications. Assists the System Administrator in the ongoing administration of the CM/ECF system. Provides technical and user support to staff as required. Backs up other IT staff members. PROGRAMMER ANALYST: Systems Section, Clerk’s Office, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of New York, Office of the Clerk. Brooklyn, NY. Summary: Incumbent occupies a technical position in computer programming in a UNIX/Linux environment, writing and maintaining Perl, Java, HTML, XML, C, Informix, DB2, NET, SQL, Web Programming such as Coldfusion and Flash and shell scripts. He/she provides local programming and customization of both nationally supported automated systems and off-the-shelf commercially available software to meet the automation needs of the Court. Duties: Write code to specifications. Document work. Develop custom reports. Perform routine testing. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications.  Design, modify, adapt, and enhance existing software to correct errors, allow adaptation to new hardware, or to improve performance of the software. WEB DEVELOPER: United States District Court, Nothern District of Ohio; Cleveland, OH. Summary: The U.S. District Court Clerk’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio is accepting applications for a Web Developer/Administrator. The incumbent is a member of the District Court’s IT team and provides web support to 300+ users including 25 judges and their staff, Clerk’s Office, and Pretrial Services/Probation Office. The IT team also provides support to the bar and the public at court houseslocated in Cleveland, Akron, Toledo and Youngstown over wide and local area networks. This position is located in the Cleveland office reporting to the Systems Manager, ultimately reporting to the Clerk of Court. Duties: The primary responsibility of the position is to employ creativity and innovation to develop new web sites and web-based applications (internal and external), as well as maintain and support existing sites and applications. The incumbent will analyze the requirements for developing and designing internet/intranet web based information delivery systems including interfaces with existing and proposed databases used throughout the Court. Applications/sites must be of the highest quality, provide an intuitive user interface, and be properly secured. Qualifications: Two years of specialized experience that is in, or closely related to, the work of the position is required. Summary: This position is located in the Information Technology (IT) Department of the Clerk’s Office located in Detroit, Michigan. The employee will develop applications for managing local data systems, custom interfaces for national systems, analyze manual processes and propose automated solutions within the Court. The employee will be a member of a group of IT support personnel and report directly to the Director of IT. Maintains a continuous improvement dialogue with IT personnel from other locations for the purpose of staying informed about new developments, techniques, and programs that might enhance the automation of the Eastern District of Michigan. Provides follow-up maintenance and support for existing applications in use within the Court system. Supports the conversion of existing local applications from older technologies and non-supported technologies using a defined project plan. Evaluates established Court processes and makes recommendations for automating processes. Works with Court staff to enhance web and other current applications. Provides guidance and oversight to others performing the automation of manual processes. Assists IT staff and unit managers with the creation of one-time and recurring reports. Qualifications: Required: A high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience related to the technical aspects of application development, web development and System Life Cycle development methodologies. At least two of the three years experience must be equivalent work at the CL-27 level. DATA CONVERSION PROGRAMMER: Arkansas Supreme Court, Little Rock, AR. Duties: Conducts onsite analysis of client legacy system and database with the goal of producing the initial data mapping for the extract process. Required to define high-level conversion scope, develop data conversion strategies and estimate work effort. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written, or equipment fabricated or installed. Develops data conversion programs to extract, transform and load data into a defined target database. Tests all conversion processes in succession in order to identify programmatic dependencies, derive database sizing estimates, and uncover software / hardware / environment constraints. Define data integrity/cleansing requirements for the transform process.
