INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANT: Court Administration/Information Technology Division, Circuit Court, Upper Marlboro, MD.  Summary: The Information Technology Consultant is responsible for assessing the overall court’s information technology system. Duties: The incumbent provides direct consultative support and training to staff on information technology-based systems, court applications software, multimedia, database resources, network support, hardware consultation and application support.  Provides consultative support and services to the Court Administrator, Deputy Court Administrator, and the Director of Information Technology to ensure problem resolution, system/data access, and optimal system performance. Provides consultative support to users in the development or use of applications, software packages, and their features. Evaluates applications, networks, databases, and other systems.  Provides advice and assessment on staffing need. Provides technical advice and expertise in the evaluation, purchase, upgrading, and maintenance of software and/or hardware resources.  Advises the Circuit Court in the selection of available software, hardware and/or database systems, and resources to meet their needs. Recommends alternatives to meet identified needs, may participate in needs assessments and evaluates potential purchases for compatibility with existing systems.  Evaluates databases to ensure that data sources are accurate and readily accessible to the user community.  Analyzes and defines data requirements; monitors, analyzes, and verifies data to ensure integrity. Qualifications: Graduation from college (a Masters is a PLUS) with education in computer science, information systems, educational technology or related fields and supplemented by two (2) years experience. Ability to apply consultative skills to assess user needs.  Knowledge of information technology systems and/or applications, including multimedia environments, access procedures, networks and/or databases. WEB SERVICES MANAGER: AOC, Carson City, Nevada. Summary: This position is with the Administrative Office of the Courts, Information Technology Web Services Division.  Reporting to the Judicial Branch Chief Information Officer (CIO), this position is responsible for the management and oversight of the Supreme Court’s internal and external Web sites and web portal capabilities. Duties: This includes the design, technical management, function, and visual integrity of the site.  This position contributes to the overall strategy of the Information Technology Web Services Unit and is responsible for recommending and implementing changes in content, visual design, and navigation. The Manager of Web Services works closely with the Web Managing Editor in the Public and Governmental Affairs Unit as well as with support personnel within Information Technology, and will perform other work as assigned.  This position is located in Carson City, Nevada. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with major course work in computer science or information systems, or equivalent.  To work within the existing framework of the intranet and internet websites, the candidate must possess a minimum of five years of professional experience with:  Windows Server, Apache HTTP Server 2.0, XHTML, CSS, PHP 4 or greater, Macromedia Studio, Dreamweaver, MYSQL, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, JavaScript, and XML/XSLT.  Also must have experience with editing HTML and image editing, an understanding of information architecture and Web usability principles, strong communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure. SUPERVISOR, CENTRAL RECORDING BRANCH: Information Technology Division, 500 Indiana Ave., NW., Washington, D.C. Summary: This position is located in the Information and Technology Division of the DC Courts. The position is part of Central Recording Branch (CENR).Duties: Incumbent manages the day-to-day operations of the Recording Technicians in the performance of their duties. Plans and assigns work schedules to ensure an even flow and distribution of work. Trains employees on new technologies, procedures and guidelines. Recommends personnel actions regarding subordinates. Oversees the digital recording system, which is a Windows-based application, in order to provide a permanent, high-quality audio recording of courtroom proceedings. INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN 1: Mercer Vicinage, Information Technology Division, Trenton, NJ.  Summary: The Mercer Vicinage Information Technology Division is seeking a customer service oriented individual with basic computer skills to work at their help desk.  Duties:  Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2B (Division manager), the Information Systems Technician 1 is responsible for answering the help line and providing level-one technical support on a daily basis.  The selected individual must be flexible in adapting to meet the needs of our users, and be organized in tracking all calls to a timely resolution.  Performs related work as required. Summary: Under the guidance of an Information Technology Analyst 3 or other supervisory personnel, and as part of an application development team, the selected individual will participate in the support and development of on-line real time Judiciary case management systems. Duties: The selected individual will have the opportunity to learn technologies and be exposed to microcomputer technologies including: Java, Visual Basic, Visual Fox Pro, HTML, Systems Administration, Sybase, GQL (Hummingbird B.I.), Windows XP/2003 and Vista. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 2: Administrative Office of the Courts, Probation Child Support Call Center, Mercerville, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a motivated and caring customer service representative to help staff a regional child support call center under a pilot program that may be extended and expanded. Duties: The center is to be administered cooperatively by the Administrative Office of the Courts’ Probation Division and the executive branch Department of Human Services, Division of Family Development. Under the pilot, this call center will be the initial point of contact for child support-related inquiries. COURT EXECUTIVE 2A: Office of Trial Court Services Automated Trial Court Systems Unit, AOC, Trenton, New Jersey. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an executive with strong organizational, communication and customer service skills to assist in the management of the operations of the Automatic Trail Court Systems Unit (ATCSU). This Unit assists the Information Technology Office (ITO) in the introduction of software enhancements for systems to the vicinages, including the requisite training for staff, courts, state and federal agencies. COURT EXECUTIVE 2A: Office of Communications, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Duties: The Office of Communications is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong management and communications skills who, under the general direction of the Court Executive 3B (Assistant Director of Internet Services) will be responsible for managing the Judiciary’s Internet and Intranet Web Sites. This individual will also be responsible for developing and implementing short and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the Web Sites that support the mission, goals, and objectives of the Judiciary, and for coordinating the work of a web team comprised of six IT professionals. The selected candidate will coordinate and track team work flow and schedules, organize and prioritize projects, assign daily tasks and manage the workload for the web team, compile required statistics, evaluate and assess the work accomplished by the web team to ensure quality, and supervise staff by providing guidance, assistance, and training as required. Additional duties include incorporating the principles of teamwork in the resolution, completion and follow-up of various responsibilities, and serving as the point of contact to the organization on Internet and Intranet web-related matters. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Five years of professional administrative and/or program management experience, three of which shall have included responsibility for program development and/or implementation and for supervision of staff. COMPUTER SPECIALIST: U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Summary: The Automation and Technology Office of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit is seeking a highly motivated, customer service focused, and energetic Computer Specialist. The Computer Specialist performs computer and networking support activities to meet the needs and requirements of the court. Duties: Incumbent should be able to establish short and long range automation plans for the court, assist when court automation environment changes are implemented. Provide customer support follow-up in response to various automation issues or services requested by the user. Assist in the preparation and writing of documentation for Site Administration Manual. Assist in routine testing, establish procedures, monitor security of court hardware and software. Assist in the planning, designing, and implementation of changes to heterogeneous operating environments within a LAN or WAN. Analyze and make recommendations for systems and computer performance for heterogeneous (LAN/WAN) environments. Provide support to Internet/Intranet Web activities for the court. Assist in the development and testing of business continuity plans. Provide software application support, customer assistance and training (support and end user) in the use of office automation products such as the Outlook, WordPerfect, Microsoft XP, MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), computer assisted legal research (CALR), finance and personnel application software. COURT EXECUTIVE 3A: Office of Trial Court Services, Automatic Trial Court Services Unit, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a dynamic manager to manage and administer the operations of the Automated Trial Court Systems Unit (ATCSU). This unit assists the Information Technology Office (ITO) in the introduction of software enhancements for systems to the vicinages, including the requisite training for staff, state courts and federal agencies. The ATCSU also maintains a help desk for ongoing questions from the field and assists ITO development staff in the specification and design of new development and conducts corollary system testing. Duties: Under the general direction of the Court Executive 4 (Director, Office of Trial Court Services), the selected candidate will manage the coordination of all Superior Court judicial applications, training and implementation of all application areas. This individual will conduct field visits and evaluate Superior Court and Criminal Justice Practices; meet with Executive and Judicial branch representatives; manage the implementation and enhancement of existing software packages; coordinate activities with the ITO; supervise and cross-train professional staff; and work as a member of a team in the Office of Trial Court Services to implement priorities in the computerization area. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Seven years of managerial experience, five of which shall have included responsibility for the development and management of budgets, staff, information systems and administrative operations; development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures; and supervision of professional staff. PLATFORM ANALYST II: Connecticut Judicial Branch. Summary: Qualified individual to administer Microsoft Exchange in a 4,000+ user, multi-site environment. Duties: Monitoring system event logs and taking appropriate action to maintain optimal system performance; administering Active Directory, mailbox system, backup and restoration; testing and applying server, software, OS upgrades and patches as required; developing, implementing and documenting configuration standards, policies and procedures for operating, managing and ensuring the security of the Microsoft Exchange Server/Active Directory environment; managing Outlook Web Access servers, PDA support, mail routing protocols, relays, encryption, interfaces and transports to external mail systems. Qualifications:  Eight years experience in data processing operations and computer programming. Two years must have included technical support of high-availability Microsoft Windows and Exchange 2000/2003 servers. College training in MIS or a related field may be substituted for a maximum of four years for a bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for an additional year of general experience. Summary: Qualified system administrator for its Windows server group. Duties: server hardware and software installation, configuration, administration and support; implementation and administration of Active Directory and/or E-Directory, user setup, access control, group policy, data security, patch management, backups and restores. Qualifications:  Six years of  experience in data processing operations and computer programming. One year of the general experience must include technical support of Microsoft Windows 2000 or 2003 servers. College training in MIS or a related field may be substituted for a maximum of four years for a bachelor’s degree. MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION OFFICER: Full-time position available in Williamsburg, VA with the National Center for State Courts (NCSC), a national court improvement organization. Duties: The position will serve as a technical resource for the Institute for Court Management’s eLearning programs and assist with staffing of the NCSC’s EdTech Center and Conference room facilities. The position has primary responsibility for assisting with web components of eLearning programs using on-line education and meeting software such as WebCT, BlackBoard, WebEx, Astound and Placeware. Knowledge of and experience with web development software such as Flash, Director or Dreamweaver or other web development applications required. Hands on experience with computer networks and graphics programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and Publisher essential, in addition to a familiarity with computer programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat Writer, Access and Excel. Qualifications: Experience providing technical support for video production, video conferencing or video camera operation preferred. Ability to prioritize, plan, coordinate, and execute multiple tasks within assigned deadlines and ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers required. Skills in communication and coordination within a team environment critical. Applicants must have an Associate’s degree in a technical, communication or skill specialty area in a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred) and three years eLearning, web development, multimedia production and computer and experience or any other combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the job.
