Information Technology Assistant


EXECUTIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST: Information Technology Office, AOC, Trenton, New Jersey. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an Executive Support Specialist with strong organizational skills to provide administrative assistance to the Director of Information Technology, Assistant Director of Application Technology and four Court Executive 2B titles. Duties: The selected individual will handle correspondence and mailing; compose correspondence; schedule staff and senior management meetings, prepare meeting minutes; screen telephone calls and/or visitors; create agendas for special events.  The selected individual will also report staff time; and perform other administrative support duties as required. Qualifications: Five years of experience in an office environment performing a variety of office support services and administrative secretarial work including project and administrative coordination.  Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours may be substituted for one year of the experience indicated above.  Court work must include typing skills, methods, and procedures; other courts may include, but are not limited to, office procedures, word processing, and business English.  Certification of successful completion of the Department of personnel, HRDI Support Specialist Program may be substituted for six months of the required experience.  Semester hour credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.  Thirty semester credit hours equal on year of experience. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST 1&2: Superior Court of New Jersey, Mercer Vicinage. Summary: The IT Division is searching for a customer service oriented individual to work at the IT Division’s Help Desk. Duties: The selected candidate will provide tier-one help desk support; answer and track calls for service via the automated system; identify and report problems; support PC Hardware and software; resolve customer service questions/problems; and install, test, and implement systems software/hardware. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY HELP DESK SPECIALIST: (General Description) Duties: Under direction, provides on-site and remote user support for information technology in a large court or for statewide network. Provides first level diagnosis and resolution of computer hardware, software, network and court procedural problems. Work performed: Analyzes and troubleshoots software, hardware and telecommunications problems. Diagnoses application, network and systems errors. Documents errors and monitors frequent or recurring problems to identify the need for upgrade in user training, applications, documentation, systems and court procedures. Refers specialized technical problems to other technical staff. Develops and maintains system documentation regarding physical topology, equipment, environment and/or software. Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED and at least two years of general experience in one or more of the following: working with PC hardware, software and network operations; systems; applications or network design; analysis and implementation; client/server system support; software testing, acceptance and distribution; court automation. Knowledge of common office software; support operating systems; troubleshooting and support of PCs and peripherals; and client server operating systems.

INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN 1: Information Technology Office, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Duties: The selected individual will function as a mainframe computer operator in a 7 day 24 hour Data Center in a Statewide SNA, ATM, and Frame Relay Network utilizing IBM mainframes running ZOS, DB2/CICS, CA7, CA1, JES2, Netview and HR Openview. Shift work, holiday, weekend, and on-call support are required. Qualifications: One year experience in the operation of a general-purpose electronic computer and peripheral equipment, network operations, and/or information technology support (e.g., scheduling, customer service, or production implementation). Completion of a relevant course of training in computer operations or network operations may be substituted for up to one year of experience. An Associate’s Degree in Computer Science may be substituted for the required experience. Semester hour credits in Computer Science from an accredited college or university may be substituted for required experience on a year-for-year basis. Twelve semester credit hours equals one year of experience. Duties: Under general supervision, this position undertakes and provides a variety of user needs evaluation, individual/group hands-on training and related services in support of overall court system automation, information and technology operations. Qualifications: Requires an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, Automation, Systems Analysis or closely related experience AND two (2) years of relevant information technology system development, maintenance, operations, networking, help desk/help desk related services or closely related experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. INFORMATION SYSTEMS ASSISTANT: Lansing, Michigan. Summary: The individual in this position provides secretarial and administrative support in the Information Systems Department of the Michigan Court of Appeals. Duties: Provide first level Help Desk support by monitoring incoming e-mails and phone calls, routing requests for assistance to information systems staff, or resolving basic application issues. Perform desktop publishing and graphic design in order to publish the monthly newsletter on the internal web browser. Create and maintain Microsoft Word templates used throughout the Court. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an administrative professional supervisor to work under the direction of the Court Executive 2b, Manager, IT Operations or other supervisory personnel. Duties: The selected individual will supervise the problem reporting area (Help Desk) and administer Magic TSD software. Other duties include evaluating training needs and insuring that the appropriate personnel are instructed in the use of new equipment or software. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Three years of increasingly responsible professional experience in customer service large scale mainframe computer systems and complex teleprocessing networks, one year of which shall have included computer operations experience. A Bachelor’s Degree of Masters’ Degree in Computer Science may be substituted for the required education and experience. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST I: Municipal Court Services Division, Trenton, New Jersey. The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking three qualified candidates to work under the general direction of a Court Executive in the Municipal Court Services Division, ATS/ACS Support Unit. Duties: The selected individuals will function as members of a technical/customer support or training team in a Data Processing Operations environment; provide comprehensive training on Automated Traffic System/Automated Complaint System (ATS/ACS) procedures to municipal court staff, law enforcement agencies, parking authorities, and the New Jersey State Police; provide training and support on the Parking Authority Ticketing System (PATS); complete system testing and program enhancement specifications; design and distribute system documentation; complete field service and customer support visits; conduct regional and statewide user group meetings; and resolve customer inquiries from ATS/ACS users; and perform other related duties as assigned. In addition these positions will require travel on a regular basis to the Municipal Courts throughout the State of New Jersey. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. One year of professional experience using and supporting data processing information systems; conducting data processing user training; and/or teaching or training.
