EDUCATION SPECIALIST III: Education Services Division. Summary: In order to maximize the quality and impact that Arizona’s Judicial Branch has on the communities it serves, the Arizona Supreme Court has demonstrated a commitment to providing its employees the highest quality education and training programs possible. The Education Services Division serves as the primary coordinating unit to service this need, including for judicial officers, court staff, and probation officers throughout the state. By utilizing cutting-edge adult education theory and practice, and through a variety of educational modalities (e.g. in-person sessions, DVD’s, computer-based trainings, live broadcasts, etc), the Division directly provides and indirectly supports the education and training requirements for a broad audience with diverse needs. This position will work within the Education Programs Unit of the Division, whose primary purpose is the training and education of judges and court staff, as well as leadership development programs. Programs sponsored by this unit include the annual Arizona Judicial Conference, New Judge Orientation programs, annual Court Leadership Conference, Arizona Court Manager training program, and a variety of other Arizona-specific court leadership development and staff training programs. By working with policy-making committees, teams of subject matter experts and individual faculty, this position will be responsible for the planning, coordinating and implementing of high-quality, timely educational programs and events, as well as coordinating faculty and participants. Duties: Other responsibilities include serving as an educational program expert, project manager with responsibility for multiple concurrent projects, technology consultant, and in an advisory capacity for policymaking bodies regarding best practices for the training of the unit’s constituents and utilization of technology to improve efficiency and educational impact. In addition, this individual is responsible for the design and production of print and electronic materials. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, the social sciences, or related field and three years’ professional experience in a related field or equivalent. AUTOMATION FIELD TRAINER: Superior Court of Arizona, Mohave County. Kingman, AZ. Summary: Responsible for providing essential business process/case management system support and on-site training to Judges and personnel throughout the Mohave County Superior Court, Probation, Clerk of Court, Justice and Municipal Courts. Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of relevant experience in a general and/or limited jurisdiction court OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST II: Technology Training Specialist. Fourth Judicial District Court. Minneapolis, MN. Summary: This high-visibility position will train and consult with Judicial Officers and Court staff at all levels of the organization. Our ideal candidate will have broad-based training experience analyzing industry technology trends; presenting a wide-stream of training materials; suggesting improvements in training, technology and e-workflow procedures; developing, implementing, and facilitating training at all levels of the Court's leadership and management structure; learning, documenting and supporting information technology systems, programs and networks; and have advanced specialized knowledge to analyze and resolve technical problems. Position will report to the Help Desk Supervisor in the Court Information Technology Department. Duties: Training 1. Leading District implementation of technical training initiatives including development of classroom and one-on-one training curriculums, e-training approaches including webex and captivate, and other effective e-based training techniques. 2. Design course materials and other documents such as handouts, manuals and exercises; plan, coordinate, and present training classes to a wide audience base; knowledge of various hardware, software, e-training, and related peripheral equipment for individuals or groups, in person or via Webcast; 3. DIRECTOR, UTAH JUDICIAL INSTITUTE: Administrative Office of the Courts. Salt Lake City, UT. Summary: The Director of the Utah Judicial Institute is responsible for a statewide educational system for judges and court staff for all levels of court including Justice Courts. To fulfill the Judiciary’s educational mission, the Institute conducts needs assessments, facilitates curriculum development, programs and coordinates conferences, and works with various committees representing judges and employees throughout the state. The Director provides leadership in maintaining and enhancing a comprehensive program of judicial branch education. Duties: The Director serves as staff to the Judicial Council’s Standing Committee on Education, and ensures compliance with mandatory educational standards established by the Judicial Council. In addition, the Director develops an annual strategic plan for judicial branch education which corresponds to the mission and goals of the judiciary. The Director administers the Institute’s budget, comprised of both general fund and grant monies, and makes recommendations as part of the annual budget process. There are six staff members in the Institute whose work the Director oversees, which includes responsibility for all aspects of performance management. The Director is expected to research and review literature for best practices and innovative programs in the field, including distance learning, and determines potential application to the Utah courts. Qualifications: A Master’s degree in education, organizational development, public administration, or related field is required. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the design and application of adult education programs (preferably in a court environment), and demonstrated work experience to include management of staff and budgets. The Director will also have the ability to communicate effectively, analyze information and recommend appropriate actions, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships throughout all levels of the organization. Travel is required. Salary: $96,000 (2011).
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR: Center for Education & Training, District of Columbia Courts, Court of Appeals. Washington, DC. Summary: Under general supervision of the Division Director, the incumbent performs complex work of an administrative and financial nature in the Center for Education and Training. Handles administrative details of all projects without supervision. Duties: Incumbent will generate documents and reports; maintain files and library; manage staff work schedules; track all expenditures and payments; and organize conferences, training events and meetings. The incumbent relieves the Director and Deputy Director of administrative details, coordinates projects and communications for the activities within the Center and provides customer service to Judges, other senior managers, employees, faculty, vendors and outside agencies. . JUDICIARY COORDINATOR 2: Mercer Vicinage, Human Resources Division. Trenton, NJ. Summary: Under the direction of the Human Resources Supervisor, this position will function in a hybrid capacity: partially as a generalist in human resources and partially as a training coordinator. Duties: This position will perform general human resources functions, including employee problem resolution (in areas such as benefits, employee relations and labor relations,) cross training of staff, health and safety coordination/reporting and special projects. The position will also develop, present, facilitate, and coordinate training sessions for the vicinage. DIVISION DIRECTOR: Education Services Division. Arizona. Summary: This senior level position directs the Education Services Division of the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) in the development and delivery of statewide Judicial Branch educational programs for judicial officers and court employees. Additionally, this position manages the program support for the Committee on Judicial Education and Training, the Judicial College of Arizona, the Court Leadership Institute, the Judicial Staff Education Committee and the Committee on Probation Education. Responsibilities include providing leadership and direction to Education Services Division employees, overseeing a $2.7 million budget, resource and strategic planning for the division, and partnering closely with other AOC divisions and Judicial Branch leadership. Duties: Serves as a member of the AOC executive management team. COURT TRAINING COORDINATOR: Superior Court of California, Marin County. Summary: The Court Training Coordinator is a professional-level classification responsible for developing, coordinating and conducting training programs and courses that meet the needs of the Court; developing and conducting training needs surveys; and researching topics and resources for new or revised training programs and classes. The incumbent works under the general direction of the Human Resources Manager and exercises judgment, initiative and technical expertise relating to the development of training programs, conducting training classes, and coordinating training needs with other Courts and the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC). Duties: Assigns, directs, trains and evaluates the staff participating in the Court's training and development program. Develops, coordinates and conducts a variety of training programs which may include management development, supervisory training, and professional and technical training. Designs and develops curriculum, course materials, handbooks, manuals and education/training methods for programs and projects. Consults with managers and supervisors in planning training programs, identifying in-service training needs, selecting the most effective training methods, and evaluating results of training courses. Assists in the formulation and/or recommendation of Court training policies and procedures. EDUCATION AND TRAINING MANAGER: Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa, Human Resources. Summary: The Superior Court of Contra Costa County is recruiting to fill an Education and Training Programs Manager position. Under the administrative direction of the Human Resources Director, the person selected for this position will be responsible for the strategic management of education and training programs for judicial officers and employees. This management class is responsible for the overall planning, policies and procedures related to the education and training of judicial officers and court employees. A primary focus will be on the development and implementation of a workforce education program that support the Court’s succession planning needs. The Education and Training Manager works independently and is afforded discretion in determining how his or her work is completed within the court-approved strategic plan for the Court and the Human Resources Program. The Manager may be assigned supervisory responsibility over subordinate managers and staff within the assigned scope of responsibilities. The person appointed to this position must exemplify all the core competencies expected of court managers including being a leader of change, being a leader of people, being results oriented, possessing good business acumen, and being able to build coalitions and communicate effectively with all others. Qualifications: Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in education, judicial administration, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field is a minimum requirement for the classification; Possession of an advanced degree in law, public administration, business or educational administration is highly desirable. Desirable Experience: Four years experience as an educator, trainer, staff development specialist, or educator in a court or legal services agency and/or experience in human resources training development and delivery. The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and abilities: Knowledge of principles of adult education and learning; communication and individual self-assessment theories and tools; project management techniques; curriculum development methods; various methods for presenting educational training programs while taking a leadership role in the electronic delivery of the programs. TRAINER/EDUCATOR II: Delaware Judiciary, AOC. Wilmington, DE. Summary: This employee will administer the daily operations of the Certified Court Interpreter Program for the Delaware Courts (for the deaf/hearing impaired and foreign language speakers). Duties: This employee will assist with the development of policies and procedures for providing access to non-English speaking/hearing impaired litigants in the Court and will assist in the development of budgets, contracts, and grants. Daily operations include recruitment, testing, orientation, and training of court interpreters. Under the general supervision of the Williams Institute Executive Director, the Judicial Education Director will: Plan and administer the Williams Institute live Judicial Training programs in various states across the country. Summary: The Utah Courts have an excellent opportunity for an
innovative individual with a strong background in judicial
branch education. The Director of the Utah Judicial Institute is
located in the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC),
reporting to the State Court Administrator, and serving as part
of the Administrator’s management team. Duties: The Director of the Utah Judicial Institute is responsible
for a statewide educational system for judges and court staff
for all levels of court including Justice Courts. The Director
provides leadership in maintaining and enhancing a comprehensive
program of judicial branch education. The Director serves as
staff to the Judicial Council’s Standing Committee on
Education, and ensures compliance with mandatory educational
standards established by the Judicial Council. In addition, the
Director develops an annual strategic plan for judicial branch

is a full-time, professional position requiring specialized
knowledge of criminal justice system operations and interagency
dynamics. This position reports to the Principal Investigator of
the project to which he or she is assigned. Duties:
The principal duties of this position include: (1) planning,
coordinating, and evaluating the delivery of technical
assistance and training services (e.g., the conduct of
workshops, conferences and focus groups, the performance of

The Education Services Division is responsible for
maintaining a statewide system of judicial education and
