ADMINISTRATIVE ANALYST: Supreme Court, Oregon. Duties: The Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court is the administrative head of the Oregon Judicial Department and appoints the State Court Administrator (SCA) to assist in its administration and carry out certain statutory functions and programs.  Many of the administrative responsibilities and programs are further handled by the six Offices of the State Court Administrator (OSCA) divisions.  The OJD operates as a centralized entity for state budget and resource management; however, has a decentralized statewide organization with court administration also carried out by local presiding judges appointed by the Chief Justice and trial court administrators appointed by the presiding judges. OJD places an emphasis on balancing local court and community needs while at the same time meeting the statewide duties and responsibilities of the Department as a state entity and branch of government. This position is located in the City of Portland and serves as a part of the professional staff of the Fourth Judicial District (Multnomah County).  The Fourth Judicial District is presided over by the Hon. Jean Kerr Maurer, Presiding Judge.  The Presiding Judge appoints the Trial Court Administrator. This position reports to the Trial Court Administrator for the Fourth Judicial District.  This position operates under the supervision of the Trial Court Administrator and: Provides leadership and direction for the development, testing and maintenance of the three separate security, business continuity and emergency preparedness plans for the Fourth Judicial District.  Provides direct training to judges and court staff on security, business continuity and emergency preparedness related issues and indirect training through written content distributed periodically though e-mail and newsletters. Acts as the Business Continuity Lead for the Fourth Judicial District in the event of any emergency or disaster. Coordinates with all appropriate governmental agencies, business partners, and other affected parties all of the Fourth Judicial District’s security and business continuity activities prior, during, and after a business interruption event. Updates, revises, tests and maintains the Fourth Judicial District’s security, disaster recovery and business continuity plan (BCP) and its emergency preparedness plan (EP) and oversees distribution of plan documents to judges and staff. Provides planning and conducts training for all security, disaster and emergency risk mitigation and prevention activities. Serves as the primary contact for the court for all security, BCP and EP preparedness and recovery and training activities conducted by other regional governmental agencies. Serves as the primary contact in emergency courthouse facility replacement efforts in the event that a court facility is lost due to emergency incidents which render the facility unavailable for court functions. Qualifications: You must have a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field, and three years of increasingly responsible work experience related to security, emergency preparedness and business continuity, which included major involvement in planning and directing security, business continuity and emergency preparedness functions for a private or public organization.  Equivalent additional work experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis. A graduate-level degree in management or in a security or emergency response related field may substitute on a year by year basis for up to two years of the required business continuity and emergency preparedness experience. ADMINISTRATIVE ANALYST 2: Appellate Court Operations Manager, Oregon Court of Appeals, Salem, OR. Duties: Typical job duties include, but are not limited to, the tasks listed below.  Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate work load and organizational needs. Participate as a member of the court’s senior management team; research, analyze, provide information and recommendations on administrative goals; develop forms, policies and procedures to achieve identified goals of the court.  Work collaboratively with the appellate staff attorney who is assigned responsibility to implement the Appellate Case Management System (ACMS) and E-court projects at the court; manage the ACMS and E-court systems at the court once implemented, develop or modify procedures, resolve problems, and give guidance to other users of the system. Interpret established OJD policies and apply them to court processes, procedures, and operations. Participate in and investigate sensitive (discipline, rule violations, grievances) personnel matters for the Chief Judge’s consideration.  Issue discipline up to written-reprimand level, participate in disciplinary and grievance hearings, and prepare confidential and sensitive documents for personnel matters, policy considerations, interagency dealings, and legislative initiatives. Perform a variety of analytical duties related to budget, personnel, training, policy directives, security, business continuity planning, legislation, new programs, etc.  Provide the Chief Judge with research and spread sheet documents for ease of decision making to ensure compliance with applicable requirements and to allow work to proceed on schedule and within budget. Analyze, evaluate, and monitor budget appropriations and expenditures, adjust procedures in an effort to reduce costs or balance accounts, approve capital/service and supply requests, and pinpoint problems for resolution.  Perform other general office management-related duties. Participate in and attend interagency, statewide, and internal meetings to represent the interests and needs of the Court.  Evaluate and make changes to improve workflow and interagency communication.   Serve as an active management team member, develop agenda items, evaluate alternatives to complex issues, and develop and implement solutions.  Monitor and provide guidance to work plans assigned to team members, oversee various administrative and clerical functions, train and delegate work to judicial support and technical support staff, facilitate meetings, and inform the Chief Judge of problems or sensitive issues.  Prepare complex documents for local and state presentations and distribution to legislative officials, community leaders, media, etc.  Participate on interview panels and in new hire decisions. Maintain accurate and current PICS reports, organizational charts, permanent financing plans, statistical caseload data, and develop and oversee other sensitive management-documents. Qualifications: You must have a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field, and two  years of increasingly responsible work experience related to administrative analysis or managing administrative operations.  Equivalent additional work experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis. A graduate-level degree in a related field may substitute for up to one  year of the required experience. Salary: $3,247.00 - $5035.00/month. (2008)

COURT ANALYST: (General Description) Summary: Produces a wide range of complex projects that involve planning, researching and analyzing court administration and operations that result in improving and increasing the efficiency of court operations. Duties: Analyzes court administration and operations and identifies problems and solutions. Provides recommendations, prepares reports and designs systems and procedures. Assists in developing proposals and projects and making recommendations for improving and increasing the efficiency of court operations. Researches and develops grant proposals and requests to fund special projects; and may participate in these projects, monitor their progress and provide fiscal grant management. Conducts analytical studies, interprets data and prepares reports and recommendations. Staffs and participates in court committees, task forces and work groups. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, court, business or public administration or related field and four years of experience involving data collection, research, analysis planning and report writing. Knowledge of policy analysis and program evaluation; grant research and proposal writing; data collection and statistical analysis; and methods of short and long-term planning.

PRINCIPAL COURT ANALYST: Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Court Improvement Programs, Cohoes , New York . Duties: With substantial independence from supervision, Principal Court Analysts work individually or as team leaders on projects that involve research and confidential analysis, planning, and other related work in one or more of the following areas: budget development and court finance; personnel administration; resource allocation; and court system management and administration. As team leaders, Principal Court Analysts supervise Senior Court Analysts, Court Analysts, and Junior Court Analysts assigned to a single study component of a large and complex project. SENIOR COURT ANALYST: Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Court Improvement Programs, Cohoes , New York . Duties: Under supervision, Senior Court Analysts work individually or as team leaders, on projects that involve research and confidential analysis, planning and other related work in one or more of the following areas: budget development and court finance; personnel administration; resource allocation; and court system management and administration. As team leaders, Senior Court Analysts supervise Junior Court Analysts and Court Analysts assigned to field or research projects of narrow scope. SENIOR COURT SERVICES ANALYST: Court Interpreters Program, California Judiciary San Francisco, CA. Summary: Become a part of a dynamic program supporting language access to justice in the most linguistically diverse state in the nation. The Senior Court Services Analyst in the Court Interpreters Program of the Executive Office Programs Division, Administrative Office of the Courts, will perform advanced analytical and consultative work on a variety of court interpreter related projects or services. Duties: Act as a lead on assigned projects, ensuring that individual and team projects are completed on schedule and within budget, and provide status updates to the CIP supervisor/manager; Provide lead direction, training, and work review to other CIP staff. Conduct and oversee studies and initiatives, including gathering data, analyzing findings, and preparing analytical reports and programmatic or policy recommendations; Gather, analyze and apply data to help formulate policy and programs that advance branch-wide strategic and operational plans. Possession of a directly related postgraduate degree or certification from the Institute for Court Management (ICM) may be substituted for one of the three years of required experience. BUSINESS ANALYST SPECIALIST V: Court Services Department, AOC, Phoenix, AZ. Summary: This position provides support to courts through project management, organizing, planning, testing, rolling out and training new releases and modules of automated court case management systems. Duties: Essential functions include reviewing completed Remedy documentation and solutions provided about and for the court case management system which involve court operational procedures and ensuring that the answers and solutions provided are correct, taking corrective action when necessary. Assisting in standardizing the solutions portion of the systems.   In-depth research of problems courts encounter using court automation software. Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining operational procedures that will guide and assist courts in using court automation software, testing these procedures, and publishing them on the web for easy access. Other duties include assisting in table data definition, testing new versions of AZTEC, and recommending procedures to be documented for the courts. Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public or Judicial Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field, and five years of relevant experience or the equivalent. The ideal candidate will have professional level oral and written communication skills, be able to multi-task, and possess the ability to provide highly responsible administrative and technical work independently with minimal supervision. The position requires travel to courts and training sites within Arizona , overnight stays of several days’ duration may be necessary periodically. A good working knowledge of AZTEC or case management systems, court procedures, rules, and Arizona statutes, and experience with Informix databases, experience in using report writing software, ability to interpret legislation and policies, court automation experience, and the ability to exercise independent judgment in decision making are preferred. Some travel up to 25% is required. Salary: $45,951 - $55,141. (2007)

COURT ANALYST: Douglas County District Court, Omaha, Nebraska. Duties: Monitors and evaluates caseflow-management policies and procedures. Prepares and oversees case-management reports and analysis of case flow and delay reduction. Monitors progress and disposition of District Court cases (a) assigned to judges of other courts within the Fourth Judicial District and (b) assigned to district-court judges from outside the Fourth Judicial District. Prepares narrative and financial reports for various federal and state grants and funding authorities. Assists Court Administrator with preparation and monitoring of District Court budget, including review of expenditure reports. Prepares written reports for various specialized court programs, including fee collections and restitution payments. Provides oversight for the District Court website, with responsibility for information content and periodic updates. Prepares presentations, reports, and correspondence for the Court. Performs general and legal research. Provides assistance and support for court technology. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Prospective candidates should have a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in case management, record keeping, data collection and review, and statistical analysis. Familiarity with legal terminology, court and government operations, and demonstrated ability to understand and apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws are essential. A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Judicial Administration, Statistics, Systems Analysis, Political Science, or Criminal Justice is required. A graduate degree in any area cited above, or a Juris Doctor degree, is preferred. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug-screening test and a criminal history background check is required. BASIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: This position carries with it a great deal of responsibility and requires a self-motivated person with a professional attitude and the ability to work collaboratively. Court Analysts provide professional level assistance and report directly to the District Court Administrator on a daily basis. The candidate must have the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret technical data regarding case processing. Superior writing, editing, and research skills. Demonstrated ability to prepare narrative reports, statistical analyses, and grant financial reports. Prior experience with Microsoft Office 2000, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to handle and maintain sensitive matters on a confidential basis. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to interact with judicial officers and staff in a responsible and professional manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with judicial officers, coworkers, members of the legal community, and the public. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 2: Appellate Division, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is searching for a candidate to join a case processing team in the Appellate Division. Duties: The selected individual will be responsible for the management of a caseload of appeals from docketing until ready for calendaring and post judgment activity; analyzing, monitoring and processing appeals in accordance with court rules and established practices; setting priorities and organizing work to ensure efficiency; processing motions and issuing appropriate orders; maintaining the automated docket for all appeals; responding to inquiries from judges, attorneys, and other interested parties regarding appellate procedures and/or the status of appeals; completing the final review of appeals to ensure appeals are ready for the court’s review; and other relate duties as required. SENIOR COURT SERVICES ANALYST / COURT SERVICES ANALYST: Administrative Officer of the Courts, San Francisco, CA. Summary: Senior and Court Services Analysts are responsible for performing substantive analytical work, staffing committees, coordinating educational offerings, and providing subject matter expertise, technical assistance and consultation to court staff throughout the state. Duties: As a member of its family dispute resolution team, the person in this position will work closely with Family Court Services and related mediation and evaluation professionals throughout the statewide courts. SENIOR MANAGEMENT ANALYST (Records Management): Las Vegas, Nevada. Duties: Provides complex and sensitive management and programmatic support to the Las Vegas Justice Court by maintaining current knowledge of laws, regulations, statutes and codes affecting records management and recommends modifications or revisions to management to improve effectiveness and efficiency of operation. Examines and evaluates records management systems to develop new or improve existing methods for efficient handling, protecting, and disposing of Court records and information. Evaluates findings and recommends changes or modifications in internal policies and procedures, coding systems and filing methods, such as digital archiving, document imagining, automating-filing and document tracking. SENIOR COURT ANALYST II:  Office of the State Courts Administrator, Court Services, Tallahassee, Florida. Summary: This is responsible professional work performing complex analytical and statistical research, preparing detailed written reports, and making formal presentations of recommendations on a variety of court management studies and projects. An employee assigned to a position in this class is responsible for research techniques and design, data collecting and selecting the methods of data collection and presentation. Duties: Recommendations may include an evaluation of existing court programs and making proposals for improving court management and the delivery of court services. A Senior Court Analyst II may also act as a project leader in developing and implementing new court programs, and providing technical assistance to the district and circuit courts. Program responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, jury management, case management, sentencing guidelines, judicial certification, court reporter certification, alternative dispute resolution, and interpreter certification. A Senior Court Analyst II also provides professional support to judicial committees, commissions, councils, and boards. Working relationships are established with justices, judges, court administrators, clerks of court, a variety of professionals serving judicial commissions, and other officers of the judicial and criminal justice system. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Research, Planning, and Court Services, a Court Program Manager, or a Court Administrator. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in judicial administration, public administration, criminology, research design, statistics, systems analysis, political science, or a related social science, and four years of professional experience in judicial administration, research and analysis, or program administration and evaluation. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 4: Office of Trial Court Services, Municipal Court Services Division, AOC, New Jersey Judiciary. Duties: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an individual to design reports and analyze municipal court data including data required under N.J.S.A. 26:2B-35; draft budgets and quarterly reports for grant administration; attend various committee and subcommittee meetings and prepare minutes as necessary. The candidate will oversee the implementation of the Drug court. Duties will include statistical record keeping and reporting, data entry, program development and community networking. The coordinator will regularly interface with any and all State and/or local service agencies necessary to ensure service to court clientele, assist in various short and long term projects and represent the court at interagency meetings and conferences. ASSISTANT COURT ANALYST (Program Assistant): State of New York Unified Court System. Fifth Judicial District. Duties: Syracuse Community Treatment Court/Syracuse City Court. Assistant Court Analysts provide professional level assistance to Court Analysts and higher-level personnel in the Analyst series in projects involving personnel administration, resource allocation, budget development and court finance, administration and policy formation. They may perform as part of a project team where they may be assigned entry level professional tasks which, under supervision of a Court Analyst or Senior Court Analyst, are designed to enhance the professional growth of the employee. This position will be responsible for case management activities and administering the drug treatment court case management system. Other duties will include writing grant proposals, statistical reporting, data entry, program development and community networking. Experience chemical dependency assessment, together with a working knowledge of the treatment community, a general understanding of the criminal justice system and work experience and/or of knowledge of drug treatment court(s) are desirable.
