COURT EXECUTIVE 1A:  Office of Professional & Governmental Services, AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a seasoned professional to work as the Legislative Liaison for the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b, in the Office of Professional and Governmental Services. Duties: The selected candidate will represent the Judiciary negotiating with the executive and legislative branches on legislation, budget issues and citizen concerns, recommending amendments where appropriate; evaluate and analyze all legislation impacting the courts; attend legislative committee meetings; testify on relevant bills and respond to inquiries; prepare analysis; assist in development of judiciary’s legislative agenda; receive, inventory, analyze and maintain bills introduced by the Legislature that impact the Judiciary; analyze fiscal impact of legislation; draft legislation to advance judiciary initiatives and educate legislators on the operation of court programs. The selected individual will respond to legislative, staff, executive branch and judicial inquiries regarding the status of legislation; track all bills and advise Administrative Director of status of pending legislation; receive lists, assign and analyze requests by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for fiscal legislation that impacts the Judiciary; develop and publish legislative newsletters for judges and judiciary staff. Three years of increasingly responsible administrative experience, one (1) of which shall have included experience in planning, organizing and coordinating program or case related activities. PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST: United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit. Atlanta, GA. Summary: The Circuit Executive's Office has a position open for a Procurement Specialist I to discharge procurement responsibilities for the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Council. The Procurement Specialist reports to and works directly with the Assistant Circuit Executive for Administration. Duties: The procurement specialist performs administrative, technical, and professional work related to procurement activities for the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Council, which requires the highest level of quality and professionalism. Work, which entails supplying chambers and court units with supplies, equipment and services, must be performed in compliance with the appropriate guidelines, policies, and approved internal controls. Responsibilities include: procuring and preparing purchase orders for supplies, equipment, services, and furnishings; assessing requests for goods and services by ensuring that they are allowable, as well as determining availability of funds; reconciling accounts; preparing spreadsheets and maintaining databases to track certain expenditures; adhering to the Guide to Judiciary Polices and Procedures and internal controls; updating the inventory listing of property and conducting inventory reconciliations; researching and evaluating suppliers; preparing specifications, solicitations, and requests for proposals; researching products and equipment; preparing product/equipment specifications; obtaining and reviewing competitive bids, quotes, and proposals; negotiating with vendors; evaluating and monitoring contract performance; assisting with clarifying contract requirements and resolving conflicts; reviewing and reconciling credit card statements; updating and maintaining procurement manual; performing routine inventory of property, to include a physical sighting every two years; updating the inventory listing of property and conducting inventory reconciliations; and identifying property for disposal. Qualifications: Minimum of three years of progressively responsible procurement experience which demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. EXECUTIVE ANALYST: Communication and Staff Education Analyst, Oregon Judicial Department. Duties: Typical job duties may include, but are not limited to, the tasks listed below.  Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate work load and organizational needs. Independently perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to: Provide advice and consultation for ongoing professional development and communication activities, including regular education and communication on improving access to justice and enhancing public trust and confidence in the justice system.   Design, assess, create, deliver, and evaluate new and existing curricula for staff education programs from concept through evaluation utilizing concepts, theories, principles, and practices of adult learning. Facilitate groups with varied backgrounds, to initiate open dialogue and candid discussions, gather information and stimulate insight. Keep abreast of national trends in education in court-related as well as public and private sector environments. Qualifications: You must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work or life experience. You must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably with major course work in communication and/or education.  You must have at least three years of increasingly responsible communication and/or education work experience. A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience; a doctorate in education, law, public administration, or related field may be substituted for one year of experience. Applicants without the relevant educational background may substitute recent experience that demonstrates the above abilities on a year for year basis. Preference may be given to candidates with prior experience working in a court setting or developing and presenting education programs. CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER: AOC in Augusta or Portland, Maine. Summary: The Maine Judicial Branch is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO).  This is responsible professional work planning and directing the Judicial Branch information program, including communication with the Legislative and Executive Branches of government. The CIO serves as primary liaison with the Legislature and the Governor’s Office; collaborates with a wide range of individuals in the development and implementation of plans for effectively sharing information including: the Maine legal community, legislative and executive leadership, the State of Maine Chief Information Officer, state agency representatives, and counterparts in other state AOCs; serves as or oversees the public spokesperson for the Judicial Branch; and directs the development and implementation of a comprehensive public information and information technology plan. Duties: The Chief Information Officer (CIO) applies the laws and court policies related to access to public information; ensures that the best available safeguards are implemented to protect information, and in particular, confidential case related information; provides staff with direction on the provision of court records and oversees implementation of records access policies; oversees the application of the Records Retention Program to ensure appropriate access to court records in compliance with applicable administrative orders and policies; ensures public access to court information through Judicial Branch website services and the State Court Library system; ensures information is made available to Judicial Branch employees through intranet services; and prepares and manages the portion of the Judicial Branch budget dealing with information systems. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in communications, government, information systems, public administration, public relations, or related field, significant experience in governmental or public relations, or other related management responsibilities.  Masters Degree or J.D. preferred.  Other requirements include: understanding of Maine government, the governmental budget process, and the legislative process; strong writing, communication, interpersonal, and supervisory and management skills; understanding of the capabilities of court technology to provide information with varying degrees of access; understanding of legal requirements surrounding the release of information; substantial project management experience; knowledge of functions and responsibilities of the Judicial Branch; ability to prepare and manage a complex budget; and strong computer and software skills; and ability to develop and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with judges / justices, court personnel, governmental officials, members of the news media, and the general public. DIRECTOR, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION/CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER (CIO): IT Division, Office of the State Court Administrator, Oregon. Summary: The CIO provides technology leadership and vision for the Oregon Judicial Department (OJD). The CIO oversees policy development collaboratively sets priorities for investment, and leads strategic planning and implementation for enterprise information technology initiatives. Duties: The CIO is responsible for the technology planning and development processes and reporting requirements for the judicial branch. The advancement of technology in the judicial branch is facilitated through a central technology governance committee structure consisting of members representing the trial and appellate courts, administration, and the Oregon State Bar. The CIO is responsible for executing policy decisions made by the committee as affirmed by the Chief Justice and State Court Administrator, and for the proper planning, design, development, and execution of technological resources within the judicial branch to provide the judiciary with secure access to relevant information from multiple local, state, and federal sources. As the OJD’s CIO, the incumbent will ensure that information technology resource planning and execution takes place in a collaborative and coordinated manner through the OJD. In this role, the incumbent will lead OJD’s statewide enterprise IT strategic and tactical planning by identifying and ensuring that IT business requirements, strategic plans, and solutions are properly integrated with the overall mission and needs of the OJD. The incumbent will need a persistent enthusiasm for making technology helpful in pursuit of the agency’s mission. The incumbent will perform a significant customer service role in ensuring that enterprise services are provided in a timely manner, are of high quality, and meet the business needs of the appellate courts, trial courts, administration and other customers. The incumbent will anticipate and lead the organization through technological change to meet the business needs of the OJD. The CIO also represents the judicial branch, as assigned, on various court-related technology committees and projects on a state and national level. After-hours, weekend or holiday work, especially during the Legislative session, may be required. Workday and some overnight travel is required for court visits and meetings. PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER II: Administrative Office of the Courts, UT. Summary: The Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking an experienced Public Information Officer to develop, implement and maintain effective public and media relations programs for the Judicial Branch. Duties: Responds to public requests for information on court issues, prepares statements for release to the public, writes and edits brochures, forms, reports, newsletters, etc., acts as a liaison between the judiciary, court staff and the media, facilitates a good working relationship with print and electronic media. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications or related field plus 4 years of professional level public relations or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Administrative

ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER: United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona. Phoenix, AZ. Summary: The Administrative Manager has responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Administrative Services Department. The incumbent also serves as the building coordinator for the bankruptcy clerk’s office within the Federal Courthouse, and serves as a liaison with GSA, the U.S. Marshals Service and other building tenants. Duties: The Administrative Manager is a high level management position responsible for supervising a professional staff covering the areas of financial administration, procurement and contract administration, budget administration, auditing, internal controls, statistical analysis/reporting, space and facilities, court security and other administrative support services. The Administrative Manager is part of the court’s management team and assists in the formulation of court policies, office practices and procedures. The Administrative Manager serves as a Certifying Officer and a Contracting Officer and is responsible for ensuring accountability and accuracy for all appropriated and non-appropriated financial activity in compliance with applicable federal appropriations laws. The incumbent is also responsible for development and administration of the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and serves as co-chair of the U.S. Courthouse Building Security Committee as well as the Court's Safety Officer. The Administrative Manager interacts with the court’s Judicial Officers and staff, other federal courts and agencies, and the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. The incumbent analyzes a wide variety of budget and financial reports and is responsible for the review, analysis, and implementation of Administrative Office policies and court initiatives. The incumbent develops short and long term plans for courthouse construction and tenant alterations. During the absence of the Clerk of Court and Chief Deputy Clerk, this position may serve as the senior court manager for continuance of court operations and assume other key emergency duties. Qualifications: Course work toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, judicial or public administration is highly preferred. Experience in a federal or state court environment with significant responsibility for some or all areas of administrative services is highly desired. At least three years of progressively responsible administrative, technical, professional, supervisory or managerial experience is required. Must have or the ability to quickly acquire an in-depth working knowledge of federal court accounting principles, appropriations laws, federal property management regulations, auditing, budget administration, financial administration, and contract administration. Must be able to interpret and analyze a variety of regulations, policies and procedures. Must have excellent analytical skills, people skills, and a thorough knowledge of principles and theories of management and leadership. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Salary: $65,561 - $81,970 (2009).

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISSTANT: Director’s Office, Capital Projects and Facilities Management, D.C. Courts. Summary: Provides secretarial support to the Director of the Capital Projects and Facilities Management Division. Duties: Operates personal computer to type correspondence and/or reports, to enter or retrieve data and/or to prepare reports or other court documents; composes correspondence and reviews outgoing documents for appropriate format, grammatical and spelling accuracy, and conformance with division directives; answers telephone and walk-in inquiries and provides assistance regarding procedures or scheduling inquiries from court staff, judicial officers, attorneys, other governmental agencies, and/or the public; receives, sorts, distributes and/or files incoming documents including correspondence, court documents or reports. Assists operations in other offices by answering telephone calls; responding to inquiries and requests; preparing time-and-attendance records and other personnel documents for the office; maintaining calendar and schedules; managing files; entering data into Pegasys Financial system and monitoring branch requests for supplies and equipment. Maintains requisition files and monitors receipt of items requested in requisitions; distributes bi-weekly and monthly statistical reports to judges and staff; and maintains confidentiality and security of documents and information. Qualifications: Five (5) years of general secretarial or clerical experience. Education past the high school level, e.g., secretarial training, college, or paralegal training may substitute for general experience, on a year-to-year basis. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISOR 4: Office of Trial Court Services, Probation Services Division, Child Support Enforcement Services, AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated administrative professional for the Probation Child Support Enforcement Services Unit in the AOC. Duties: Reporting to a court executive, the Administrative Supervisor 4 will be the lead technical supervisor responsible for coordinating automated support and new technologies for central office and vicinage child support enforcement operations. Responsibilities include working with Judiciary, Department of Human Services, other state agencies and contractor staff to implement and support a new statewide automated child support system (NJKiDS). Other responsibilities include but are not limited to supervision of professional staff, coordinating NJKiDS enhancements and maintenance, providing technical support, coordinating internet/intranet site maintenance, conducting research, performing analyses, and developing recommended procedures designed to enhance the enforcement of child support. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 4: Office of Professional and Governmental Services, Professional Services Unit, AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an experience professional to work under the general direction of the Chief, Professional Services. Duties: This individual will perform investigative, legal, professional and administrative duties in connection with the Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct (ACJC). The selected individual will perform the duties of Chief Investigator for the ACJC; planning, coordinating and conducting confidential and sensitive investigations; assign tasks to investigative staff, mentor staff and provide direction and feedback; recommend and develop new or revised administrative procedures to ensure efficient unit operation; explain the jurisdiction and procedures of the ACJC to potential grievants; and prepare detailed correspondence and reports in appropriate investigative style, as well as other related work as required. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 1: Office of Attorney Ethics, Supreme Court of NJ, AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary, Office of Attorney Ethics, is seeking a motivated individual who will work under the supervision of a Court Executive 2B (Statewide Fee Arbitration Coordinator) to assist in providing administrative and clerical support to 17 district fee arbitration committees throughout the state. Duties: The selected candidate will be responsible for regular communication with district secretaries and their staff; advising district hearing panel members; training new district secretaries and staff on fee procedures and fee collection of filing fees; reviewing submissions by district secretaries to ensure compliance with court rules and OAE procedures; providing information about fee arbitration procedures to the public and attorneys, responding to inquiries and complaints; organizing and handling the appointment and replacement of 300 attorneys and public members of district committees in accordance with court rules and procedures; and performing other support duties as required. Qualifications: Three years of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, transcribing information, reconciling balances or accounts, scheduling meetings or appointments. JUDICIARY SECRETARY 2: Appellate Division Clerk’s Office, AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a detail-oriented individual to provide a variety of confidential secretarial support and administrative functions for the Clerk of the Appellate Division. Duties: Under the direction of a Court Executive 3B (Clerk of the Appellate Division) the selected individual will type varied types of information, including narrative statements, correspondence, memoranda, reports and recommendations, including personnel matters which may be of a confidential nature, compose routine correspondence such as form letters or replies to inquiries; screen confidential material for release to the public or authorized persons/agencies, schedule meetings and conferences; manage the schedule of the Clerk; properly respond to and direct phone calls; request needed information from individuals, agencies, office visitors or customers; develop and maintain a filing system; serve as an office leader to other support staff by providing records and leave time, distribute pay checks and performs other related duties as required. Qualifications: Three years of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include typing, secretarial and administrative clerk work. Applicants selected to interview must pass an appointing authority administered examination to demonstrate typing skills of at least 40 words per minute or possess proof of having taken the required skills test (for example, New Jersey Department of Personnel typing proficiency certificate). Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30 semester hour credits in secretarial science may be substituted for one year of experience indicated above. Course work must include typing skills, methods, and procedures; other courses may include, but are not limited to, office procedures, word processing, and business English. JUDICIARY CLERK 3: AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking candidates with office skills to provide a variety of clerical support and administrative clerical functions. Duties: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: handling mailings; maintaining attendance records and timekeeping for the office; scheduling meetings; screening telephone calls and/or visitors; establishing and maintaining a filing system; and performing other clerical support duties as required. COURT EXECUTIVE 3B: Office of Trial Court Services, Municipal Court Services Division, Administrative Office of the Couts, Trenton NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a dynamic leader with strong organizational, communication and customer service skills to direct the programs and staff of the Administrative Office of the Courts’ Municipal Court Services Division.  This division provides strategic planning and management oversight of the state’s 526 Municipal Courts, which together process more than six million cases annually. Duties: The Court Executive oversees the administration of Municipal Court judge and employee training, customer service enhancements, legal research and the Automated Traffic and Automated Complaint Systems (ATS/ACS). The division also provides staff support to various Supreme Court, presiding judge, management and ad hoc committees.  This position entails extensive contact with county and municipal court officials, representatives of the Executive Branch at the state, county and local levels, and other public and private organizations.  The position also supervises all staff support provided to the Municipal Court Administrator Certification Board.  Reporting to the Court Executive 4/Director of the Office of Trial Court Services, the Court Executive supervises the division’s legal, professional and support staff. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Seven (7) years of managerial experience, five (5) of which shall have included responsibility for the development and management of budgets, staff, information systems and administrative operations; development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures; and supervision of professional staff. COURT MANAGER I: County of Humboldt, Superior Court of California. Summary: A Courtroom Manager manages one or more aspects of Court operations including but not limited to civil, criminal, traffic, family, juvenile, probate, appeals, and jury services.  This position also regularly directs the work of two or more subordinate Court employees, and exercises discretion and independent judgment.  This position is unrepresented and at-will. Duties: Supervise the court and legal clerk support staff in matters pertaining to civil, criminal, small claims, probate, family, juvenile and traffic actions as required by State code provisions, statute, rule or regulation. Explain policies and procedures relating to criminal, civil, small claims, juvenile, probate, appeals, traffic and jury service matters to the general public and attorneys. Supervise and oversee recordkeeping including data entry into computerized case management systems, collections and deposits of monies, preparation of indexes, direct retention, destruction and storage of court records. Conduct research to determine appropriate legal procedure when operational or other legal clerical issues or conflicts arise in the course of daily operations by utilizing legal books, computer programs including the internet, staff resources, management and policy directives or any other viable resources as required. Monitor and critique on-going office operations, including, but not limited to: form design, records management, personnel utilization, equipment and supplies ordering and procurement, invoice processing and payment, and employee selection, training, and evaluation processes in order to recommend operational changes or continuation of current operations. Assist with the preparation of financial and statistical reports, including Judicial Council reports. Qualifications: Court procedures and functions in criminal, traffic, civil, probate, appeals, family law, juvenile, small claims and jury services divisions of the court. Procedures, legal documents, and protocol of courtroom clerking in all divisions of the court. Principles and practices of supervision, training, and performance management including performance evaluations. Completion of a BA/BS in public or business administration, criminal justice or a closely related field; and two (2) years in a responsible clerical position involving legal process work, including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 2: Management Services Division, Trust Funds Unit, AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented person for the Trust Fund Unit. Duties: The selected individual will work under the direction of an Attorney 2 and will perform the initial review of all proposed and entered orders for the requisite legal requirements including review for consistency with account records, as well as reviewing language in proposed orders for clarity and compliance with court rules. The work will involve extensive customer contact and communication, including explaining judiciary policy and procedures regarding deposits to and withdrawals from the Superior Court Trust Fund, and citing the relevant court rules, state statutes and federal regulations. Will respond to and request information from attorneys, pro se litigants, members of the general public, judges and their staff, vicinage court personnel, sheriffs’ offices, and state and local agencies and perform other duties as required. ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR: Court Rehabilitation & Corrections Services, Lucas County, OH. Summary: The Administrative Director (AD) serves as a primary assistant to the Court Administrator (CA) and shares in the work of managing and administering the Court. The AD exercises supervisory control and management control over the four major components of trial court services operations (Adult Probation Department, Correctional Treatment Facility, Pretrial/Pre-sentence Department, Work Release Department) as well as the Human Resources Department. Periodically reviews all budgetary expenditures for all areas under direct supervision. Oversees preparation of annual report for all areas under direct supervision. Directly supervises 5 Department Directors; indirectly supervises all Court Services staff; oversees policy implementation to assure consistency across all Departments. Directly supervises the Applications Specialist position and oversees the work of the core group of employees planning and implementing the automation of the Court Services departments. Routinely communicates with Department Directors, providing guidance and/or direction as needed. Sets realistic, obtainable goals for all areas under direct supervision and monitors attainment of same. Prepares personnel evaluations for those under direct supervision. Acts as a back-up for the 5 Department Directors and may be called upon to function as an Acting Department Director as the result of an extended absence or vacancy. Responsibility for 24 hour operations may necessitate working irregular hours. Represents the Court as a member of various advisory boards/committees. Represents the Court and interacts with the Commissioners, County Administrator, and Office of Management and Budget on a regular basis. Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible administrative, supervisory, managerial or professional work experience. Minimum of 5 years in a Court or Criminal Justice setting. Summary: This senior court management position is responsible for highly complex, administrative and supervisory work related to daily Court operations in one or more of the counties within the Twentieth Judicial Circuit. This position works under the direction of Chief Deputy Court Administrator and serves at the pleasure of the Court Administrator. The main functions of this position are: daily management of court operations; liaison to Judiciary and local and state government and private agencies and organizations; supervision of Court staff in assigned area; and strategic planning for operations and case management.
