COMMUNITY RESOURCE SPECIALIST: Family Court Operations Division. Summary: This is complex case management work with administrative duties primarily pertaining to locating appropriate agencies and professionals for parties pursuant to specific judicial instructions regarding the facilitation and monitoring of referrals. Duties: Performs a variety of office administrative tasks and case management as necessary. Maintains appointment schedules; greets clients; composes correspondence based on knowledge of office policies and procedures. Facilitates intake of parties in order to ascertain relevant information for file. Facilitates referrals as required, locates appropriate providers and monitors compliance. Drafts documentation for the court as to parties' progress and compliance, provides correspondence as necessary, and distributes reports to parties and collaterals as appropriate. DEPUTY PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER: Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Boston, MA. Summary: The Supreme Judicial Court seeks an individual with excellent oral and written communication skills and experience in media relations, journalism, or public relations to assist the Public Information Officer with external and internal communications and outreach activities for the Massachusetts judicial branch. Duties: Assist with the strategic planning and implementation of communications plans and policies; Respond to inquiries and requests from the media and public. Act as court spokesperson as appropriate; Research, write and disseminate informational materials and press releases concerning the court system; Assist with the development of informational content for the court’s websites and the development and use of appropriate new social media platforms; Provide assistance and support to judges and court employees with respect to media and communications practices; Assist in the planning, development, and publicity of special events, law related education programs and projects; Assist in developing and maintaining constructive relationships with key external constituencies, including the media, bar, community organizations and government entities; Provide assistance with internal communications to judges and court employees; Perform related duties as required and assigned. PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER: United States District Court, Southern District of New York. New York, NY. Summary: The employee is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive program to assist the Court in managing a number of high-profile cases. The candidate is responsible for internal and public information projects and provides administrative support relative to public information on trials at the Court. Duties: Issue media advisories and news releases related to high-profile cases. Respond to media inquiries related to high-profile cases. Work with individual judges, upon request, regarding media issues. Develop and manage a public information program for assisting Court and media during high-profile cases (including management of credentials, seat assignments, etc.). Coordinate press briefings. Plan, design, and develop media relations training for judges and key court staff, as needed. Act as liaison to media, outside organizations and agencies related to high-profile cases. Summary: The CIO will be responsible for moving the Supreme Court into NIEM compliance and assisting Louisiana courts in establishing a common IT vision designed to improve information sharing, integration and efficiencies, linking IT and policy solutions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Systems and Decision Sciences, or a related field. 10 years experience leading, developing and managing a staff of IT professionals with varying specialties. 7 years experience successfully managing and completing multiple, large scale IT projects with high visibility and impact. Experience with the developing or re-architecting of applications in compliance with the NIEM information exchange framework. Experience with application lifecycle management, including the integration of multiple disparate systems into a common platform. COURT SERVICES MANAGER: U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan. Detroit, MI. Summary: The Court Services Manager reports to the Deputy Court Administrator and is responsible for providing administrative services to judges’ chambers, the Clerk’s Office, Probation Department and Pretrial Services Agency. The Court Services Manager has responsibility for all financial, procurement, space and facilities, and security services provided to the Court. Duties: Supervises and recommends personnel actions including appointments, promotions, disciplinary actions and terminations within the Court Services department. Finance: Supervises the Financial Supervisor who is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Financial Department and supervision of the Financial office staff. Responsible for the Internal Controls process for the Court. Responsible for reporting and accounting for all monies received in and processed through the Clerk’s Office in compliance with the Court’s Internal Controls procedures. Ensures that Court Internal Controls are accurate and audited on a regular basis. Makes recommendations for changes when necessary. Arranges for banking institutions to meet depository requirements for all funds not required by law to be transferred to the Treasury or other agencies. Develops local financial and accounting policies and procedures. Procurement: Supervises the Court Services Supervisor who is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the procurement functions and supervision of the Procurement staff. Responsible for the procurement of all furniture and furnishings, Information Technology (IT) equipment, general office supplies and equipment, telecommunications equipment and services, consumable supplies, printing, parking, moving services, temporary help, renovation projects, training and advertising materials. Ensures that efficient controls of equipment and commodity inventory levels to ensure availability without overspending or unnecessary stocking beyond Court needs. Oversees requests for quotation process, including requests for proposal (RFP), etc. to ensure AO guidelines are followed. Responsible to ensure payments for all funding obligations are completed in a timely manner following receipt of products or services. Space and Facilities Supervises the Space and Facilities Coordinator who is responsible for coordinating building maintenance service needs, space and facilities improvements, and safety or security corrections through maintenance, construction or renovation projects. Serves as senior liaison with the General Services Administration (GSA) and the Administrative Office (AO) with respect to the acquisition of additional space for tenant alterations and other reimbursable services by GSA. Security Serves as the designated official for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Theodore Levin Courthouse in Detroit and acts as the liaison between the District Court and the United States Marshals Service to ensure that appropriate personnel are informed of security related issues in a timely manner. Assists the Marshals in the development of security policies and procedures. Shares responsibility with the Marshals in the development and implementation of courthouse emergency evacuation plans, emergency operational plans, judicial security and crisis response plans. Assists the Marshals with coordinating activities of the District Court security committees and actively participates in building security committees. Serves as the Continuity of Operations (COOP) Coordinator for the Court. Serves as the primary security liaison for the Court to outside agencies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including at least 3 years in a position with executive level management experience. ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ASSISTANT: United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Arizona. Phoenix, AZ. Summary: The incumbent performs administrative and technical support to Administrative Services Department in support of all three offices, Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma. Assists with procurement and inventory activities. Assists in maintaining and updating automated inventory control tracking database. Duties: Assists with the organization and/or distribution of office supplies. Assists in the reconfiguration of furniture modules; troubleshoots and repairs furniture and equipment; responds to requests for products or services by conducting market research to obtain prices and reviews of available products. Performs as receiving clerk for supplies, furniture, and equipment. Assists disposal officer with disposal of equipment and furniture. Maintains related records. Assists with preparation and coordination of office reorganization and/or space moves. Provides administrative assistance to managers, supervisors, and other staff, as required. Must possess progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience requiring the regular application of procedures involving demonstrated ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, laws or specialized terminology. REPORTER OF DECISIONS: Michigan Supreme Court, Clerk of Court. Lansing, MI. Duties: Oversee the editing and publication of opinions and orders of the Michigan Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. Supervise and direct the work activities of attorneys and support staff; recruit and select new employees when necessary; provide orientation, training, and development of staff research and writing skills; evaluate staff performance; and resolve employee relations matters. Review draft opinions for errors. Make suggestions for changes as appropriate and submit to opinion author for approval. Prepare syllabus and headnote of points of law for each draft opinion. Ensure all changes and revisions made by the opinion author or at judicial conference are incorporated into the final corrected copy. DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION SERVICES: Information Services Division, Administrative Office of the Courts. Olympia, WA. Summary: Responsible for the overall direction and performance of services and activities of the Information Services Division. Duties: Carries out the overall strategic direction and operation of the statewide Judicial Information System (JIS) as determined by the Judicial Information System Committee (JISC). The JISC is the governing body established by the Washington State Supreme Court to provide policy, decision making and oversight for the JIS. The ISD Director provides professional expertise and consultation to the JISC in support of the Committee’s governance responsibilities and serves on planning and policy-making committees. Leads ISD staff (approximately 90 employees), who provide technology support for the statewide court system’s mission critical automation functions. General areas of responsibility within the Information Services Division include: Architecture and strategy, including solutions management and enterprise architecture. Standards and Policies, including quality assurance, portfolio management and the project management office. Operations, including service delivery, applications development and maintenance, and website services. Data center operations and public access subscription services. Infrastructure, including network and server and desktop maintenance, database administration, and related support. Acts as the official AOC representative with regard to information technology issues. Audiences include officials in the court community, as well as a wide range of stakeholders outside the judicial branch of government, including officials in the legislative and executive branch. Builds strong relationships and collaboration. Oversees and is responsible for other major areas of technology support in addition to the Judicial Information System which include direct infrastructure support to the agency itself and the four appellate court locations. These responsibilities include computing equipment, local area networks, servers, and help desk support. The division directly supports an extranet website that is the court portal for new services to the courts, including web-based case management systems. The division also supports a major public website that provides general court information, court forms, a number of subscription notification services, court hearing data information, and public date warehouse with court case-related data. As part of the Leadership team, participates in setting agency priorities, goals, objectives and policies, and developing information technology contributions to the agency strategic plans. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, public administration or closely allied field AND: ten years of management experience in a complex information technology environment, including managing and directing information technology professionals and leading change efforts. CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER: Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts, Kentucky Judicial Branch. Frankfort, KY. Summary: The CIO will report to the AOC director and guide the Kentucky court system’s technology program through an exciting transition. Duties: Provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing IT initiatives for the Judicial Branch. Provide strategic direction on IT and how it affects court policies, processes and budgets. Direct the planning and implementation of enterprise information systems to support the business operation of the courts. This includes long-range planning, development and maintenance of integrated case information systems, computer training, computer workstation and Help Desk support, facilities support and network solutions on a statewide basis. Oversee multiple, complex projects; system integration; application development and maintenance; computer operations and infrastructure support services; budget development and staff direction. Serve as liaison between court system and other state agencies collaborating on IT initiatives. Qualifications: A minimum of 10 years in information technology; six years in the coordination, oversight and implementation of IT projects and programs; and two years of supervisory experience. COURT EXECUTIVE 1A: Office of Professional & Governmental Services, AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a seasoned professional to work as the Legislative Liaison for the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b, in the Office of Professional and Governmental Services. Duties: The selected candidate will represent the Judiciary negotiating with the executive and legislative branches on legislation, budget issues and citizen concerns, recommending amendments where appropriate; evaluate and analyze all legislation impacting the courts; attend legislative committee meetings; testify on relevant bills and respond to inquiries; prepare analysis; assist in development of judiciary’s legislative agenda; receive, inventory, analyze and maintain bills introduced by the Legislature that impact the Judiciary; analyze fiscal impact of legislation; draft legislation to advance judiciary initiatives and educate legislators on the operation of court programs. PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST: United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit. Atlanta, GA. Summary: The Circuit Executive's Office has a position open for a Procurement Specialist I to discharge procurement responsibilities for the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Council. The Procurement Specialist reports to and works directly with the Assistant Circuit Executive for Administration. Duties: The procurement specialist performs administrative, technical, and professional work related to procurement activities for the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Council, which requires the highest level of quality and professionalism. Work, which entails supplying chambers and court units with supplies, equipment and services, must be performed in compliance with the appropriate guidelines, policies, and approved internal controls. CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER: AOC in Augusta or Portland, Maine. Summary: The Maine Judicial Branch is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO). This is responsible professional work planning and directing the Judicial Branch information program, including communication with the Legislative and Executive Branches of government.
