EDUCATION PROGRAM MANAGER: Administrative Office of the Courts, Frankfort, KY. Summary: The Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking applicants for the position of Education Program Manager. This position develops, implements, and administers Judicial College courses and programs for court staff. Duties: This position is responsible for planning, developing, facilitating, and evaluating education programs for judges, clerks and/or court personnel; conducting education needs assessments for specific target populations; designing curriculum with appropriate planning committees; conducting Education Committee meetings and faculty development programs; preparing College and program announcements and all related print and electronic materials; coordinating event logistics with Education staff; and monitoring program and/or seminar progress in order to evaluate content, interactive teaching strategies and faculty performance. This position is also accountable for designing evaluation instruments to obtain participant feedback regarding programs; reviewing and analyzing evaluation results for purposes of future program planning; and, preparing and maintaining appropriate correspondence, records, reports and files, including continuing judicial education credits. The Education Manager attends workshops, seminars and professional meetings and participates in regional and national associations that relate to the program managed; serves on committees; serves as liaison with other state and national agencies. Planning and developing programs will include estimating costs, and monitoring expenses.  Manager reports to the Executive Officer of Court Services and the Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts. Qualifications: This position requires a either a Master's degree in education or closely related field, or a law degree.  Requires five years experience in preparing and delivering informational and instructional programs for adults, to include applying adult education theory and practice to curriculum development, course planning, and faculty development responsibilities. Candidate should demonstrate effective use of technological education tools and audio/visual equipment. An advanced degree (Ed.D., Ph. D.) may substitute for three years experience. Experience in a court environment strongly preferred. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills a must. Must be proficient with Microsoft software including MS Word and Outlook. Familiarity with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Access helpful. Ability to use the Internet as a research tool also helpful. This position requires both project and personnel management skills: proven ability to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and clients; ability to shift priorities and resources; and ability to manage a professional staff of eight. PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST: AOC, Idaho Judiciary. Summary: Reports to the Director of Problem-Solving Courts and Community Sentencing Alternatives and the Deputy Administrative Director of the Courts within the Administrative Office of the Courts. To carry out lead responsibility for assigned areas of operation and conduct complex assignments in the planning, development, and provision of operational support, guidance, and evaluation of problem-solving courts and other community sentencing dispositional alternative projects in Idaho.  Duties: To provide general oversight, planning, development, operational support and evaluation to specific assigned areas of specific problem solving courts such as DUI Courts, Misdemeanor or Juvenile Drug Courts or community sentencing alternatives. To identify and review relevant research and evaluation literature and compile relevant information on effective operations of problem solving court operations including community supervision, drug testing, related treatment and other rehabilitative services or of other community sentencing alternatives. To design, organize and conduct appropriate data collection efforts including data collection for annual reports. To update specific drug court and mental health court or other project implementation plans, monitor timelines, interact with personnel throughout the state to obtain timely information, and document implementation plan accomplishments. To design, format, compile and prepare data reports on aspects of Idaho problem solving courts or community sentencing alternatives and disseminate such reports as directed. To prepare materials to support work of the Statewide Drug Court and Mental Health Court Coordinating Committee, subcommittees, and special work groups established to guide the operations of drug courts and mental health courts. To facilitate the collection and reporting of information on the ISTARS system and its’ utility and propose improvements including identifying needed system upgrades, providing training and problem-solving for personnel in the field. To collect information to assist in development of statewide guidelines, standards and polices/procedures and to draft materials for such documents. To collect new information and update existing information on the Drug Court and Mental Health Court Website. To represent the Court in state level planning and coordination groups such as committees operating under the Interagency Committee on Substance Abuse. To collect and validate data for Statewide Evaluations, including participant data and data on comparison groups. To conduct evaluation activities, including data analysis using statistical analysis software, in relation to specific operational areas such as juvenile drug courts, DUI Courts and family drug courts. To document specific activities related to process evaluations for various grants for drug court efforts including requirements of the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) or other required data. To prepare written documents based on data in available databases. To answer questions from drug court personnel in the districts on aspects of data collection, evaluation, planning and operations within Rules, guidelines and standards.  Assist districts in submitting plans and requests for establishing new drug courts or other community sentencing alternatives. Disseminate information to districts on available grant opportunities. Assist in the planning and support of training events including the annual Drug Court and Mental Health Court Institute. Provide training to update and review principles of operation of problem solving courts or other community sentencing alternative activities. Provide training and support to others involved in special data collection efforts or local evaluations. To assist in the preparation of grants to support drug court activities or other community sentencing alternatives. To assist in the monitoring of work plans to implement grants that have been received. To assist in monitoring of expenditures under awarded grants. COURT EXECUTIVE 2B: Office of Attorney Ethics, Supreme Court of New Jersey, AOC, West Trenton, New Jersey. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary, Office of Attorney Ethics, Supreme Court of New Jersey is seeking a professional with strong management experience to work under the general direction of a Court Executive 3b and Assistant Ethics Counsel to direct and oversee the statewide investigation of complex attorney disciplinary investigations and forensic audits by investigators for the Office of Attorney Ethics. Duties: The selected individual will oversee the administration of the Trust Overdraft Program, direct others to achieve time goals for complex investigations, conduct complex audits including testifying at attorney disciplinary proceedings, administer pool vehicles and other internal programs. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: Judicial Education Division, AOC, Illinois. Duties: This highly responsible administrative position oversees the Judicial Education Division of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC).  Under the direction of the State Court Administrator, the Assistant Director develops, coordinates, and manages the administration of continuing judicial education conferences, advanced academies, seminars, and other judicial training related activities as prescribed by the Supreme Court of Illinois.  The duties include working with select committees of the Supreme Court and its Judicial Conference to develop annual and long term strategic plans for judicial education, assess training needs, develop new programs, prepare budget projections, and work with faculty to design and implement curricula. The Assistant Director supervises staff of the Judicial Education Division located in both the Chicago and Springfield offices. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 3: Probation Services Division, Juvenile Intensive Supervision program, AOC, Newark NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual with field and administrative experience who enjoys working with people to join the Probation Services Division, Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program (JISP).  Duties:  Under the general supervision of the Regional Supervisor of JISP or other supervisory personnel, the selected individual must be able to  handle a variety of technical and client support functions in addition to assisting program participants in attaining specific rehabilitative goals that facilitate the successful completion of the Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program. DIRECTOR, UTAH JUDICIAL INSTITUTE: Administrative Office of the Courts, Salt Lake City, UT. Summary: The Utah Courts have an excellent opportunity for an innovative individual with a strong background in judicial branch education. The Director of the Utah Judicial Institute is located in the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), reporting to the State Court Administrator, and serving as part of the Administrator’s management team. Duties: The Director of the Utah Judicial Institute is responsible for a statewide educational system for judges and court staff for all levels of court including Justice Courts. The Director provides leadership in maintaining and enhancing a comprehensive program of judicial branch education. The Director serves as staff to the Judicial Council’s Standing Committee on Education, and ensures compliance with mandatory educational standards established by the Judicial Council. In addition, the Director develops an annual strategic plan for judicial branch education which corresponds to the mission and goals of the judiciary. The Director administers the Institute’s budget, comprised of both general fund and grant monies, and makes recommendations as part of the annual budget process. There are six staff members in the Institute whose work the Director oversees, which includes responsibility for all aspects of performance management. The Director is expected to research and review literature for best practices and innovative programs in the field, including distance learning, and determines potential application to the Utah courts. COURT EXECUTIVE 2B: Office of Management and Administrative Services, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a professional with strong management experience to work under the general direction of a Court executive 3A, to direct statewide Purchase and Property functions. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking organized individuals with administrative experience to join the Probation Services Division, Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program (JISP). COURT EXECUTIVE 3A: Superior Court Clerk’s Office, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a professional with strong leadership and management experience to work under the direction of the Deputy Administrative Director, who has been designated by the Supreme Court as the Acting Clerk of the Superior Court. The selected individual will manage the operations and staff of the Superior Court Clerk’s Office. Duties: The functions of the Clerk’s Office include oversight and leadership of records management policies and procedures throughout the Judiciary, including management of archived case records in the Records Center of the Clerk’s Office and regular microfilming activities both through a vendor and on site; maintenance of the Civil Judgment and Order Docket that provides access to outstanding civil judgments throughout the State; data entry and records for uncontested Foreclosure cases on a statewide basis; and other duties as required. COURT FACILITIES MANAGER: Administrative Office of the Courts, Salt Lake City, UT. Summary: This is a newly established position. The incumbent, under the general direction of the Management Services Director, will direct the planning, development, and management of facilities for the state court system. Duties: The Court Facilities Manager duties include: Serves as staff to Judicial Council standing committee on facilities planning, implementing committee decisions, and overseeing administration of court facilities and planning. Conducts studies on need for new courthouse projects and oversees design/construction of projects. Serves as liaison to State Building Board, DFCM, the Governor's Office, and Legislature on justification for court development and improvement projects statewide. Prepares annual state court building list report and is involved in annual risk management building self inspection surveys. Reviews all development and improvement projects for compliance with design guidelines and standards, as well as, submit requests to standing committee on facilities planning. COURT EXECUTIVE 2A: Office of Communication, Administrative Office of the Courts, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a manager with strong skills in journalism; desktop publishing in a professional setting; grammar and editing; layout and design in a professional setting for both print and Web publication; and excellent customer service. Other knowledge should include professional printing and video production. Duties: Under the direction of the Court Executive 4, Director of Communications, the selected individual will oversee the development and production of Judiciary publications and educational videos. Responsibilities will include writing, designing and producing publications, including newsletters, brochures, and reports for internal and external audiences; and supervising video production from concept through script development to production and post-production. CRIMINAL DIVISION DIRECTOR: Twentieth Judicial Circuit, AOC, Fort Myers , FL.   Duties: The Criminal Justice Director administers and supervises the operations of the 20th Judicial Circuit, Lee County Criminal Division including probation, pretrial services and criminal felony and misdemeanor case management services.  Supervision is exercised over a staff of supervisory, professional and support employees.  The incumbent exercises considerable independent judgment and initiative. The Court Administrator evaluates work through conferences, reports, observation, and assessment. Position has extensive management and supervisory duties over the Criminal Division with extensive interpersonal contact with judges, judicial officers and other Clerk, Sheriff and Criminal justice agency department heads.  Serves as a senior court manager reporting to the Trial Court Administrator and the Chief Judge of the Circuit. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a supervisor to oversee a professional staff or business analysts in the Automated Trial Court Systems Unit. Summary: Director of Judicial Branch Education is responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education and training for judges and judicial branch staff. Qualifications: The successful applicant should hold a law degree or masters degree in education, communication, business management or a related field, supplemented with experience in the delivery of adult education. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a dynamic manager to lead the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) Probation Services division and to coordinate with and advise the Conference of Vicinage Chief Probation Officers on the development of strategic plans for and management of the delivery of Probation services throughout New Jersey. Duties: Under the general direction of the Court Executive 4 (Director, Office of Trial Court Services), the selected candidate will promote the welfare of children, families and communities in New Jersey by providing leadership in the enforcement of court orders, including major customer service initiatives regarding child support orders and payments; and in the supervision and monitoring of adult and juvenile offenders sentenced to a term of probation or admitted to an intensive supervision program including innovative initiatives such as the Outcome-Based Supervision Mode. The individual selected for this position will direct and manage all staff operations of the New Jersey Judiciary’s Appellate Division.
