COURT SERVICES CLERK: Clerk of the Superior Court. Bullhead City, AZ. Duties: Position is responsible for performing work of moderate difficulty in case processing and legal clerical duties for the Clerk of Superior Court. Under close supervision incumbents perform assigned routine/standardized or recurring job duties including, but not limited to, opening cases, closing cases, docketing, filing, scanning, appeals, and research. As experience is gained, incumbents work more independently on an expanded variety of assigned duties. Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED and one (1) year of general office or legal clerical experience excellent organizational, teamwork/customer service skills, and keyboarding at 40 words per minute OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Salary: $11.40/hr.

COURT SERVICES SUPERVISOR 2: Professional Supervisory Band, Criminal Division, Middlesex Vicinage. New Brunswick, NJ. Summary: Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b (Criminal Division Manager) or other high level supervisor, the selected individual supervises, monitors, coordinates, and oversees a team of specialized staff who perform data entry related activities; provides customer service, tracks cases for case management purposes, oversees special projects, reports progress and resolution of problems in achieving goals and objectives to higher levels of management. Duties: Conducts formal work performance evaluations with team members and recommends and/or implements personnel actions. Leads a case management team; develops and formulates procedures and/or practices to ensure efficient court/unit operations. Each team member is responsible for all aspects of case processing from intake through disposition, including docketing, case preparation, calendaring, records management, adjournments, and dismissals. Performs related work as required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. COURT EXECUTIVE 2B: Office of Trial Court Services, Municipal Court Services Division, Administrative Office of the Courts. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an Executive with strong, organizational, communication and customer service skills to manage the Municipal Court Services Division Automated Traffic System/Automated Complaint System (ATS/ACS) Support Unit. Duties: The position entails extensive contact with municipal court officials, representatives of the executive branch at the state, county and local levels and other public and private organizations. This position is also responsible for the coordination of ATS staff support assigned to Presiding Judge, Municipal Division Manager and various other municipal court committees and conferences. The selected candidate reports directly to the Assistant Director – Municipal Court Services in the Office of Trial Court Services. COURT EXECUTIVE 2B: Office of Trial Court Services, Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program, Probation Services Division, AOC. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a dynamic manager to lead the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program, (JISP) in the Probation Services Division. Duties: The selected individual will oversee and manage the daily operations of  the JISP while increasing public trust and confidence in the Judiciary by promoting community collaboration and appropriate services for juveniles adjudicated delinquent by the Family Court; develop strategies for improved communications with key external institutions and participants; build a concise customer-services oriented approach and encourage culture of interactions with participants and the public; select program personnel, listen to and resolve complaints regarding JISP and/or program participants; monitor the expenditures of program funds. In addition the selected candidate will lead and coordinate the implementation of approved strategic standards within required time periods; evaluate special programs from a unification budgetary and quality service perspective and participate in statewide initiatives to promote innovation and identify emerging best practices. COURT SERVICES ANALYST: Nevada, AOC. Summary: Under general supervision, Court Services Analyst 1 performs all or part of the duties below at the entry level.  Assists management in conducting fiscal, analytical, or statistical studies by compiling and reporting data. Duties: Conduct and/or assist in conducting a variety of financial, statistical, or investigative studies; research, compile and analyze data; prepare and present reports summarizing study results/ conclusions; may make recommendations regarding policies, procedures, the department's position on issues or future course of action, and the development of new programs or services based upon study findings. Review, write, revise, and recommend administrative policies, systems, forms, and workflow for the work unit and/or programs; issue oral and written directives in the form of policy statements and manuals. Plan, organize, and coordinate the development and implementation of revised operating procedures/methods for the work to improve effectiveness and efficiency of operations. Coordinate the development of new forms, work methods, and automated systems used to process information related to assigned programs. Review and recommend approval or modification to legal contracts regarding technical or business concepts. Develop various budgetary, financial, or research reports, prepare correspondence, and track program needs and expenditures. Collaborate with Justices, Supreme Court staff, and outside entity’s management staff on assigned projects’ scope, budgets, strategies, logistics, and planning. Assist in the preparation of legislative matters for the AOC and judiciary, as well as review, monitor, track, and research bills submitted to the legislature impacting the Court and Judicial Branch; inform management of possible implications; and recommend an appropriate course of action. Administer the ongoing operations of the statewide certified court interpreters program; develop, adopt, and monitor appropriate rules and regulations; administer testing for certifying foreign language court interpreters; assist in preparing budget and maintain personnel and financial records; and coordinate training on the use of foreign language interpreters, court proceedings, and ethics. Build legislative binders, bill and amendment delivery, checking boards for updated agendas, monitored sessions via the internet, data entry of bill information into our database and uploading this information each day to the Supreme Court website and transcribe legislative testimony as necessary. Provide staff support to the Legislative & Rules Committee, including scheduling weekly teleconferences, provide meeting binders to all committee members, post agendas, transcribe meeting minutes, and work as the liaison between the JCSN field team and the Legislative & Rules Committee. Oversee staff that collects and distributes legislation. Attend division meetings to report on assigned legislation. Prepare final reports when legislative session is completed. COURT MANAGER I: County of Humboldt, Superior Court of California. Summary: A Courtroom Manager manages one or more aspects of Court operations including but not limited to civil, criminal, traffic, family, juvenile, probate, appeals, and jury services.  This position also regularly directs the work of two or more subordinate Court employees, and exercises discretion and independent judgment.  This position is unrepresented and at-will. Duties: Supervise the court and legal clerk support staff in matters pertaining to civil, criminal, small claims, probate, family, juvenile and traffic actions as required by State code provisions, statute, rule or regulation. Explain policies and procedures relating to criminal, civil, small claims, juvenile, probate, appeals, traffic and jury service matters to the general public and attorneys. Supervise and oversee recordkeeping including data entry into computerized case management systems, collections and deposits of monies, preparation of indexes, direct retention, destruction and storage of court records. Conduct research to determine appropriate legal procedure when operational or other legal clerical issues or conflicts arise in the course of daily operations by utilizing legal books, computer programs including the internet, staff resources, management and policy directives or any other viable resources as required. Researching issues, developing policies, advising on special topics, drafting legislation and special reports, etc. Participate in the preparation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Court’s biennial budget and/or program budget(s).  Example of duties: estimate future expenditures; make projections for future costs; prepare and present the budget and/or justifications to the legislature; monitor fiscal transactions; and develop comprehensive narrative and financial reports for presentation to management, commissions, and other entities. Prepare, monitor, and report on grants for the division, department, and Supreme Court. Assists others within the court to obtain and prepare grants. Coordinate domestic violence grants and programs with the Attorney General’s office and other agencies. Collaborate with staff from federal, state, local, and non-profit agencies on various projects that impact the judicial branch. Knows mandates for federally funded programs. Performs other related duties (or functions) as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and one year of professional or paraprofessional experience in the research, development, evaluation, or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures, or administration of policies and procedures for a program or functional area; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience. COURT COMMISSIONER: Marin County Superior Court, California. Summary: The Court Commissioner works under the general supervision of the Presiding Judge, may not engage in the practice of law and must comply with the Canons of Judicial Ethics. The incumbent performs various judicial/quasi-judicial functions, as prescribed by law or assigned by the Court. A Court Commissioner may also exercise the jurisdictional powers and duties of a Judge with respect to infractions and small claims actions, and in other matters, pursuant to stipulation of the parties. Qualifications: A Court Commissioner must be an active member in good standing of the California State Bar for a period of at least five years prior to appointment; and demonstrate relevant legal knowledge and experience, as deemed sufficient by the Judges. The incumbent should have general knowledge of the California judicial system (including, but not limited to, criminal, traffic, civil, family, juvenile and probate law); relevant California statutes and codes, California Rules of Court and Uniform Local Rules of the Marin County Superior Court; and calendar management principles and court procedures governing the formal processing and timely adjudication of cases. COURT SERVICES ASSISTANT: Superior Court of Arizona, Mohave County. Summary: Performs work of considerable difficulty in case processing and legal clerical duties for the Clerk of Superior Court. This is a working/journey level position that works under general supervision. Work assignments may be in one or more case type areas including but not limited to front counter, distribution, child support, fines, restitution and jury. The incumbent applies judgment to diversified subject matter, selecting appropriate guidelines and in applying general policies and procedures. Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED and three (3) years of general office, legal clerical, or accounting related work experience, excellent organizational, teamwork/customer service skills, and keyboarding at 40 words per minute OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. COURT PROCESSING SPECIALIST: Superior Court of California, Marin County. Summary: Incumbents may be assigned to any of the court divisions including, but not limited to, criminal, civil, juvenile, traffic, family court services, jury, small claims, records management, administration and special projects. These positions require significant contact with the public, attorneys, court administration and the judiciary. The Court Processing Specialist II is distinguished from the higher level Court Processing Specialist III, in that the latter performs the more difficult work with more independence of action, and may train and provide lead direction to the Court Processing Specialist I/II. The Court Processing Specialist II is further distinguished from the Courtroom Clerk in that the latter works in the courtroom and performs activities directly related to court hearings and proceedings. This class reports to the Court Services Supervisor. Duties: Receives, examines and processes various legal documents such as court orders, traffic citations, judgments, calendars, petitions, motions, arrest and bench warrants and other legal documents. Reviews legal forms or court documents, identifies inaccurate, inconsistent and unclear codes or information, dates and court assignments; processes court actions involving arrest warrants, subpoenas, bail certifications, future proceedings etc.; certifies and photocopies documents as necessary. Prepares and maintains documents and exhibits; files legal documents and related case materials, retrieves and delivers files and documents to appropriate court personnel and attorneys requesting documents; assists in expediting files to the courtroom and processes special requests received from the courtroom. Verifies, codes, edits, enters and retrieves legal data and prepares reports using computer systems; may access confidential statewide data files. Qualifications: Possession of a high school diploma, or its equivalent and two years clerical office experience, including one-year experience in a court or judicial system environment. COURT SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR: Athens-Clarke County, Georgia, Superior Court. Summary: The purpose of this job is to provide a broad range of management and administrative services to the Superior, Juvenile, State, Magistrate, Probate, and Municipal Courts. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to supervising assigned staff, designing, developing, and monitoring case management systems for the Courts. Performs additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Court Administration, and five years administrative or supervisory experience in public sector management, court administration required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. A Masters degree in Public Administration is preferred or can be substituted with a successfully completed course of study provided by the Institute of Court Management, National Association for Court Management, National Center for State Courts or other accredited programs. CASEWORK COORDINATOR: 12th Judicial District, State of Michigan. Summary: Under the supervision of a Court Services Manager, performs a variety of tasks to assist the Court Services Manager in managing the casework activity of traffic, civil, criminal probation and collection cases. Coordinates the training of new employees. Provides counter service which includes receiving and receipting money and providing assistance on court matters to attorneys, law enforcement officers and the public. Types a variety of court documents, enters case information to the computer system and performs a variety of related tasks, including the reviewing, processing and filing of all documents related to a case. Serves as a backup court recorder. Duties: Coordinates the casework activity of deputy clerks and is responsible for reviewing work performed by deputy clerks. Coordinates the training of deputy clerks, including the submission of a training plan, conducting the training and monitoring the training plan. Provides counter and telephone assistance to attorneys and the public regarding fines and costs due, court procedures, forms needed, schedules and specific case information; often requires pulling case files. Reviews and processes payments for tickets, court costs, civil filing fees, enters information on computerized cash register and ensures that the proper case file is credited. Opens and processes a variety of civil matters including general civil, small claims and landlord/tenant cases and garnishments. Includes processing a variety of civil papers, typing forms, correspondence and legal documents, filing papers, collecting fees, entering case information to computer, and ensuring case scheduling and the service of process. Qualifications: High school graduation or equivalent with classes in office and business. Prefer advanced coursework in data processing, accounting or related area. Two to three years of experience in a court or law office providing knowledge of the processing of district court cases, including at least one year of equivalent experience to that of a Deputy District Court Clerk. Ability to type 50 wpm.

COURT SERVICES COORDINATOR: Superior Court of California, Marin County. Summary: The Court Services Coordinator is a mid-management class responsible for providing supervision and management oversight to a specialized support class series in the Judicial Support Division of the Court. Incumbents generally oversee generally the work of the supervising courtroom clerks and coordinate the activities of the courtroom clerks to ensure appropriate coverage of all court sessions and necessary support to the judicial officers. This class is distinguished from that of the Court Operations Manager, in that the latter is responsible for a major division within the Court required for support of judicial functions and supervises this classification. Duties: Plans, assigns, supervises, coordinates, reviews and evaluates the staff and activities required to provide courtroom clerk support to the Judicial Support Division of the Marin County Superior Court directly and through subordinate levels of supervision. Performs supervisory duties including interviewing and recommending selection of courtroom clerk staff; training staff and/or providing for the training of staff in work procedures; recommending and administering discipline as required. Monitors changes in laws, policies and procedures relative to division operations; advises subordinate staff of such changes; recommends procedural improvements and implements them after approval. Develops procedures and work standards for court support staff; ensures that work is performed in a consistent manner. Conducts organizational or special operational projects; prepares reports and makes recommendations for improvements. Qualifications: Equivalent to graduation from high school and four years of experience as a courtroom clerk or in work which will have provided a knowledge of courtroom and judicial support policies and procedures, including one year of supervisory experience equivalent to that of a Supervising Courtroom Clerk or Court Services Supervisor. COURT SERVICES SUPERVISOR: Superior Court of California, Marin County. Summary: This is the full supervisory level of the Court Processing Specialist series. This class is distinguished from that of the Court Processing Specialist III by having full supervisory authority and/or spending most of the time on administrative/supervisory work as opposed to being responsible for a specialized assignment. The Court Services Supervisor is further distinguished from the Court Operations Manager, in that the latter has responsibility for the administration of a division through subordinate levels of supervision, and supervises this classification. Duties: Plans, organizes and directs work of court employees; trains subordinates in the performance of their duties and reviews completed work as necessary; coordinates work flow and cross training for assigned unit; conducts performance evaluations and handles disciplinary actions for subordinate staff. Researches relevant legislation, policies and procedures and implements changes that affect the operation of their unit and monitors compliance with these changes. Reviews legal or court documents, arrest or incident records, probation reports, files and cases to identify inaccurate, inconsistent and unclear codes, dates and court assignment and for completeness and compliance with a variety of laws and procedures; makes corrections and resolves problem situations. Acts as liaison for unit or special assignment with other court units, public and criminal justice agencies, special districts, and state and federal agencies; resolves issues and problems as they occur; represents the court at meetings and conferences. Reviews procedures and forms for efficiency, develops and prepares new procedures or makes recommendations for change. Qualifications: Possession of a high school diploma, or its equivalent and five years clerical office experience, including four years progressively responsible experience in a court or judicial system environment preferably at a level equivalent to that of a Court Processing Specialist III or Courtroom Clerk. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 2: The New Jersey Judiciary, Appellate Division, Administrative Office of the Courts. Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a candidate to join a case processing team in the Appellate Division. Duties: The selected candidate will be responsible for the management of a caseload of appeals from docketing until ready for calendaring and post judgment activity; analyzing, monitoring, and processing appeals in accordance with court rules and established practices; setting priorities and organizing work to ensure efficiency; processing motions and issuing appropriate orders; maintaining the automated docket for all appeals; responding to inquiries from judges, attorneys, and other interested parties regarding appellate procedures and/or the status of appeals; completing the final review of appeals to ensure appeals are ready for the court’s review; and other related duties as required. OPERATIONAL REVIEW SPECIALIST V: Supreme Court of Arizona, AOC, Adult Probation Services. Duties: Under the general direction of the Program Services Manager, the Operational Review Specialist is responsible for planning, managing and conducting the operational review process for the fifteen adult probation departments statewide, which includes examining the adult programs and activities for efficiency, effectiveness, adherence to and compliance with the Arizona Constitution, statutes, court rules Arizona Code of Judicial Administrations (ACJA) administrative orders, funding agreements, contracts, policies and procedures, protocols and analysis and validation of data collection and performance measures.
