TRIAL COURT SERVICES DIRECTOR: Michigan Supreme Court, State Court Administrative Office, Trial Court Services Division, Lansing, MI. Summary: This position directs circuit, district, probate, and family court activities of the Trial Court Services Division, and oversees a variety of projects and programs to assist the trial courts in their operations. Duties: Directs and administers division personnel activities, including supervising the employment selection process, reviewing and evaluating staff performance, and responding to and resolving employee relations issues. Coordinates development of model and court-specific policies, procedures, and practices to assist trial courts in complying with statutes, court rules, and Supreme Court Administrative Orders.  Facilitates efficient trial court case processing and operational functions. Develops policies and procedures for the division and ensures that activities and programs are in compliance with the State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) policies. Advises the State Court Administrator on program and policy matters related to the management of the division. Responds to inquiries from Supreme Court and SCAO personnel, judges, trial court personnel, and others regarding technical aspects of trial court operations, practices, and requests for services.  Manages projects involving testing and utilization of various case management, docket management, general case processing techniques and programs, and application of technology to court proceedings.  Serves as principal liaison to trial courts, federal and state agencies, legislators, professional court associations, and others regarding legislation, court rules, and other matters impacting trial court operations. Prepares program and project proposals and progress reports relating to management assistance projects, impact of legislation and court rules, and other matters affecting trial court and division activities and programs. Ensures required records are maintained in accordance with federal, state, and SCAO regulations. Serves as faculty and program advisor to the Michigan Judicial Institute (MJI). Prepares training materials in conjunction with MJI for presentation to judges, administrators, and support staff. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Public/Court Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related area.  JD preferred.  Seven or more years of related and progressively more responsible management or administrative experience in court operations. JUDICIARY CLERK 1: Administrative Office of the Courts, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a candidate with office skills to provide a variety of clerical support and administrative clerical functions. Duties: Under the supervision of the Supervisor of the Billing Unit, assists with the Fund’s billing operation, with an emphasis on the billing of Pro Hac Vice (“PHV”) attorneys. The selected individual will process initial PHV admissions, checking for required documentation, copying checks for deposit, and running calculator tapes of account and check totals; assist in preparation of billing notices for attorneys admitted PHV in prior years; process responses to such billings, sorting them accurately into appropriate categories and posting correct responses; do initial sort of Fund mail and begin processing of PHV mail; assist in processing of lockbox billing receipts; and perform required photocopying, alphabetical filing, stuffing and sealing of envelopes for mailings, boxing and labeling of records for storage, and all other duties as assigned. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 3: Municipal Court Services Division, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking two Administrative Specialists that are motivated self starters with solid communication and writing skills to join the Municipal Court Services Division, Judicial Services Unit. Duties: Working under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b, responsibilities for the FIRST position will include, but are not limited to: responding to complaints from the public regarding Municipal Courts; organizing and developing a digital library on compact disc of past and future judicial education courses; maintaining a database of Municipal Court Judges; preparing reports on an as needed basis; drafting correspondence; assisting in the coordination of seminars and conferences; and performing related duties. COURT EXECUTIVE 2A: Municipal Court Services Division, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The Judicial Services Unit of the Municipal Court Services Division of the Administrative Office of the Courts in Trenton, NJ is seeking a highly qualified, highly motivated individual to serve as Assistant Chief of the Judicial Services Unit. The applicant should possess excellent verbal, writing and legal reasoning skills and would work under the general direction of the Court Executive 2B (Chief, Judicial Services Unit). JUDICARY CLERK 4: Office of Management and Administrative Services, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a highly motivated, well-organized, customer service oriented individual with office skills to provide a variety of clerical support tasks as well as administrative clerical functions fro the Purchase and Property Unit, Management Services Division. Duties: Under the direction of the Assistant Chief, or other supervisory official responsibilities include but are not limited to system administration and maintenance of the Judiciary Fixed Asset Management System (FAMS); update and reconcile Judiciary asset data on the Treasury LBAM system; utilize and perform data entry on automated systems; physical inventory and tagging of Judiciary owned assets throughout the state; modifications to inventory; verify receipt of assets; liaison between central office, vicinage fixed asset coordinators and other state agencies; train fixed asset coordinators; surplus of assets; moves; provide and analyze reports for distribution or action; compose non-routine correspondence; maintaining accurate records and files; central document processing; file and perform other clerical support functions in the unit. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISOR 3: Office of Trial Court Services, Probation Services Division, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated professional for the Probation Child Support Enforcement Services Unit in the Administrative Office of the Courts. Duties: Reporting to the Chief of Client and Central Operations, the Administrative Supervisor 3 is responsible for oversight of staff who provide support and guidance to Vicinage Child Support staff and other states’ Child Support staff as well as Child Support customers on a full range of issues including UIFSA inquiries, credit reporting, lottery appeals, passport denials, etc.. This position requires extensive contact with the vicinage and out of state managers and employees and the general public. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 3: Office of Trial Court Services, Probation Services Division, Intensive Supervision Program, AOC. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking detail-oriented individuals with take-charge skills who enjoy working with people to join the state’s Probation Services Division, Intensive Supervision Program. Duties: Under the general supervision of the Regional Supervisor of ISP or other supervisory personnel, the selected individuals will supervise high-risk offenders, and assist program participants in attaining specific goals that ensure the successful completion of the Intensive Supervision Program. The selected candidates will assist in identifying vocational, economic and psychological needs while monitoring participants for compliance with program conditions providing necessary programs and assistance. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 1: Office of Trial Court Services, Probation Services Division, AOC, Newark, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking organized individuals with administrative experience to join the Probation Services Division, Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program (JISP). Duties: The selected candidate must be able to handle a variety of technical and client support functions in addition to developing community mentors and teams, group and individual community service sites, educational, treatment and employment opportunities for clients. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT III: Office of the State Courts Administrator, Court Services, Tallahassee, FL. Summary: This is responsible work performing a variety of administrative, accounting, and fiscal duties to assist a non judicial officer in managing the daily business and support operations of a court administrative or program office. Duties: The Administrative Assistant III assists in budget preparation, personnel administration, monitors monthly SAMAS reports, audits invoices and travel reimbursement requests, obtains bids and prepares purchase requisitions, maintains inventory of property and supplies, keeps records of encumbered funds, and monitors court or office expenditures, including grants. The Administrative Assistant III may supervise a secretarial or clerical support position. The Administrative Assistant III collects data for statistical reports, and is responsible for creating and maintaining automated office systems, and providing information to court personnel and the public. Working relationships are established with judges, State Courts System personnel, staff of state and local government, vendors, and the public. Work is performed under limited supervision. The Administrative Assistant III deals with confidential and sensitive issues and uses independent judgment and discretion. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university and three years of experience in administrative support, fiscal, or administrative work. A master's degree may substitute for two years of the recommended experience. Progressively responsible administrative, administrative support or fiscal experience may substitute for the recommended college training on a year for year basis. Salary: $3,009.61-$5,718.26. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 2: Appellate Division, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is searching for a candidate to join a case processing team in the Appellate Division. The selected individual will be responsible for the management of a caseload of appeals from docketing until ready for calendaring and post judgment activity; analyzing, monitoring and processing appeals in accordance with court rules and established practices; setting priorities and organizing work to ensure efficiency; processing motions and issuing appropriate orders; maintaining the automated docket for all appeals; responding to inquiries from judges, attorneys, and other interested parties regarding appellate procedures and/or the status of appeals; completing the final review of appeals to ensure appeals are ready for the court’s review; and other relate duties as required. COURT EXECUTIVE 1A: Office of Trial Court Services, Family Practice Division, AOC, Trenton, New Jersey. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a highly motivated individual to represent the family division in the design and implementation of the new automated child support system (NJKIDS), The Child Support Training Institute and The Learning Management System. Duties: This Court Executive will also provide technical support to vicinage family division staff and central office staff on IV-D program policy and procedural issues.  Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2a, or other manager, the individual must be able to make sound, well-informed and objective decision and recommendations on child support issues and anticipate the impact of those decisions and recommendation on judiciary operations.  The individual must communicate effectively with the judiciary managers and judges, concerning the progress of current and future IV-D projects and any issues identified during planning and design discussions. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an executive with strong organizational, communication and customer service skills to assist in the management of the operations of the Automatic Trail Court Systems Unit (ATCSU). This Unit assists the Information Technology Office (ITO) in the introduction of software enhancements for systems to the vicinages, including the requisite training for staff, courts, state and federal agencies. The Unit is also responsible for program specification development, including web-enabling the converted applications, system testing, documentation, customer notification and training programs for all system modifications, new releases and interfaces. Duties: Under the direction of the Court Executive 3a (Chief, Automated Trial Court Systems Unit) the individual will assist in the management and coordination of all Superior Court judicial applications, training and implementation of all application areas. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Seven years of managerial experience, five of which shall have included responsibility for the development and management of budgets, staff, information systems and administrative operations; development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures; and supervision of professional staff. GRANT SPECIALIST II: AOC, Phoenix, Arizona. Summary: This challenging, newly created position offers an individual an opportunity to work with Arizona courts by processing court grant applications for state and local monies and monitoring compliance to the grant requirements. Additionally, this position works closely with the court services division financial specialist and the courts to monitor and ensure compliance to Minimum Accounting Standards (MAS) annual checklist and external three year financial review. Duties: Working with Arizona courts to ensure the grant application is complete and meet fund requirements, analyze each grant application and develop recommendations for management approval, track grant data in the automated system and prepare management reports, implement a grant monitoring process to ensure compliance to grant requirements and stated goals, and create and maintain policy and procedures for processing grants. Additionally, track, monitor, and notify courts of compliance to the MAS annual checklist and three year external financial audit. COURT PROGRAMS AND MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST: Raleigh, NC. Summary: The person in this position will provide court administration and management services to the trial courts of North Carolina through operational and policy analysis; program design, development and oversight; and technical assistance and consultation regarding case management and court operations. The person in this position evaluates program administration and court management practices that affect the function of the trial courts such as Family Courts, Drug Treatment Courts, Interpreter Services, Child Custody and Visitation Mediation Services, Court-Ordered Arbitration, and jury management. Duties: Provide analysis, workflow and management technical assistance, and assistance in implementation to trial court officials for statewide directives and local projects; perform workflow studies in clerks of court offices; assist trial court officials to design and implement Family Courts; provide statewide oversight and monitoring of specialty courts and specialized services; assist court officials and specialty court staff to develop local rules, and operating and/or policy guidelines; design and assist in presenting educational programs on case management and best practices models for specialty courts for AOC staff, court officials, and their respective support staff. The position requires frequent state-wide travel. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in court administration, public administration, human services, political science or business administration and six years of experience in court or related program administration; prefer a juris doctorate or master’s degree in court administration, human services or public administration, and five years of experience in court administration or related program administration. DEPUTY DIRECTOR, PLANNING & ANALYSIS/COURT SERVICES: Supreme Court of Nevada. AOC. Duties: This position is an executive position within the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), a division of the Nevada Supreme Court. Under the direction of the AOC Director, this position is responsible for the Planning and Analysis division, and the Court Services unit of the AOC, their functions and operations. The incumbent will oversee the Uniform System for Judicial Records, Court Improvement Projects, Court Interpreters, Judicial Council Committees, Domestic Violence and other tasks and activities related to the general and limited jurisdiction courts. Other related position responsibilities may include representing the AOC and Supreme Court to the Legislature and other government entities; developing and implementing policies of the AOC and Supreme Court; developing and administering grants; and representing the Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts in his absence; and other responsibilities and tasks as assigned. Qualifications: Equivalent to possession of a bachelor’s degree in a related field (criminal justice, court, business or public administration) and 8 years of increasingly responsible experience in a relevant field, including a minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible management experience. Experience in a related field may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. Court experience and possession of a post-graduate degree in an appropriate field is desirable.
