EXECUTIVE ANALYST: Communication and Staff Education Analyst, Oregon Judicial Department. Duties: Typical job duties may include, but are not limited to, the tasks listed below.  Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate work load and organizational needs. Independently perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to: Provide advice and consultation for ongoing professional development and communication activities, including regular education and communication on improving access to justice and enhancing public trust and confidence in the justice system.   Design, assess, create, deliver, and evaluate new and existing curricula for staff education programs from concept through evaluation utilizing concepts, theories, principles, and practices of adult learning. Facilitate groups with varied backgrounds, to initiate open dialogue and candid discussions, gather information and stimulate insight. Keep abreast of national trends in education in court-related as well as public and private sector environments. Qualifications: You must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work or life experience. You must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably with major course work in communication and/or education.  You must have at least three years of increasingly responsible communication and/or education work experience. A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience; a doctorate in education, law, public administration, or related field may be substituted for one year of experience. Applicants without the relevant educational background may substitute recent experience that demonstrates the above abilities on a year for year basis. Preference may be given to candidates with prior experience working in a court setting or developing and presenting education programs. Public sector (e.g. state, county, city) communication and/or education experience is desirable. You must be able to work effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds. PRINCIPAL COURT ANALYST: Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Court Improvement Programs, Cohoes , New York . Duties: With substantial independence from supervision, Principal Court Analysts work individually or as team leaders on projects that involve research and confidential analysis, planning, and other related work in one or more of the following areas: budget development and court finance; personnel administration; resource allocation; and court system management and administration. As team leaders, Principal Court Analysts supervise Senior Court Analysts, Court Analysts, and Junior Court Analysts assigned to a single study component of a large and complex project. SENIOR BUSINESS APPLICATIONS ANALYST: Burbank , California .  AOC. Summary: The Center for Families, Children & the Courts has a temporary Senior Business Applications Analyst opening in the Southern Regional Office of the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC). This Senior Business Applications Analyst position will work on the California Court Case Management System (CCMS), which is a statewide initiative to bring the courts together to use one application for all case types. Development began in 2002 and implementation is planned through 2012. The CCMS application includes Criminal and Traffic, Civil, Small Claims and Probate; and Family Law, Juvenile and Mental Health case types. Duties: Under the supervision of the CFCC Supervising Research Analyst and joint direction of CFCC and CCMS management, this Senior Business Applications Analyst will be responsible for working on teams charged with design, development, configuration, and testing of the CCMS family and juvenile modules as well as automated court services for self-represented litigants. This position will represent the needs of family and juvenile court business users and will serve as a functional liaison with CCMS project and information systems technical staff, and provide business functional analysis related to application development, maintenance and support. Qualifications: Equivalent to possession of a bachelor's degree, preferably with major course work in public administration, or business administration, and four years experience in business process analysis, functional operational system documentation, and workflow analysis, including one year of project management experience and one year of lead experience. BUSINESS ANALYST: Unified Judicial System, Pierre , South Dakota . Summary: This position elicits, analyzes, specifies and validates the business needs of project stakeholders, whether outside or within the UJS, by planning and coordinating Information and Technology-related business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. Duties: Duties include: serving as the conduit between the Information and Technology staff and other judicial staff to develop business technology solutions that ensure continuity of operations and improved and efficient services to staff and citizens; identifying and defining uniform business practice issues; monitoring, identifying, and interpreting legislative changes; coordinating systems user testing efforts to ensure that final solutions meet business needs; managing IT service request priority list according to IT Request Management Process on enhancements to existing applications; coordinating the implementation of business changes and identifying specific impact to those to IT; working with IT to identify, scope, functional requirements, test plans, and implementation schedules for court automation projects.   Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public information, computer science, management information systems or a related field is preferred, as is certification by the Institute for Court Management’s Court Executive Development Program or Court Management program. SENIOR COURT SERVICES ANALYST: Court Interpreters Program, California Judiciary San Francisco, CA. Summary: Become a part of a dynamic program supporting language access to justice in the most linguistically diverse state in the nation. The Senior Court Services Analyst in the Court Interpreters Program of the Executive Office Programs Division, Administrative Office of the Courts, will perform advanced analytical and consultative work on a variety of court interpreter related projects or services. Duties: Act as a lead on assigned projects, ensuring that individual and team projects are completed on schedule and within budget, and provide status updates to the CIP supervisor/manager; Provide lead direction, training, and work review to other CIP staff. Conduct and oversee studies and initiatives, including gathering data, analyzing findings, and preparing analytical reports and programmatic or policy recommendations; Gather, analyze and apply data to help formulate policy and programs that advance branch-wide strategic and operational plans. Lead in the development, initiation and monitoring of projects, including budgets, requests for proposal, selection of outside professional consultants, and preparation and management of professional services contracts; Explore and recommend strategies to improve current language access policies and programs, and related public outreach efforts focusing on minority language communities; Review completed projects, designs, and studies to evaluate desired effectiveness; Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in identifying and developing court access projects related to interpreters and language issues; Communicate with interpreter representatives, judicial officers, trial court administrators and staff on judicial branch policies, certification standards, and complaint resolution; Assist in staffing the Court Interpreter Advisory Panel and its subcommittees, including preparing written reports, agendas, meeting materials, proposals, and recommendations; and Respond to inquiries from the public, state and federal agencies, state and national professional organizations, and out-of-state courts regarding California’s court interpreters program. Must be available to work occasional overtime and available for occasional travel statewide as necessary. BUSINESS ANALYST SPECIALIST V: Court Services Department, AOC, Phoenix, AZ. Summary: This position provides support to courts through project management, organizing, planning, testing, rolling out and training new releases and modules of automated court case management systems. Duties: Essential functions include reviewing completed Remedy documentation and solutions provided about and for the court case management system which involve court operational procedures and ensuring that the answers and solutions provided are correct, taking corrective action when necessary. Assisting in standardizing the solutions portion of the systems.   In-depth research of problems courts encounter using court automation software. Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining operational procedures that will guide and assist courts in using court automation software, testing these procedures, and publishing them on the web for easy access. Other duties include assisting in table data definition, testing new versions of AZTEC, and recommending procedures to be documented for the courts. Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public or Judicial Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field, and five years of relevant experience or the equivalent. The ideal candidate will have professional level oral and written communication skills, be able to multi-task, and possess the ability to provide highly responsible administrative and technical work independently with minimal supervision. The position requires travel to courts and training sites within Arizona , overnight stays of several days’ duration may be necessary periodically. A good working knowledge of AZTEC or case management systems, court procedures, rules, and Arizona statutes, and experience with Informix databases, experience in using report writing software, ability to interpret legislation and policies, court automation experience, and the ability to exercise independent judgment in decision making are preferred. APETS SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST, SPECIALIST VI: Arizona Supreme Court, AOC, Adult Probation Services. Summary: Do you have five years experience in Arizona ’s court or probation system, knowledge of Arizona’s Adult Probation system, and a degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Social Services, or a related field? In addition, the position performs software testing and provides second-level application support to the probation departments; leads workgroups related to statewide automation policies, data quality requirements, integration projects and business analysis; and develops and maintains written manuals and other appropriate automation project documentation. The person will also assist Adult Probation Services Division staff in conducting evaluations and analytical studies. Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, social/computer sciences or a related field (advanced degree preferred) and have at least 5 years of experience in the field of probation, parole, courts, community corrections, or a related field. In addition, required skills include a demonstrated ability to lead, plan, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously; exercise sound, professional judgment in making independent decisions; demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; and the ability to facilitate workgroups and lead projects. ETHICS ANALYST: New Jersey Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Duties: The New Jersey Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection has an immediate opening for an individual to assist the Funds’ practicing lawyers with: legal and factual research; preparation of pleadings and other documents; and support for litigation in New Jersey’s state and federal courts. Qualifications: Satisfactory completion of one year of law school or current enrollment as first year law student with substantial legal writing experience. ETHICS ANALYST: Office of Attorney Ethics, Supreme Court of New Jersey, West Trenton, NJ. Duties: The Office of Attorney Ethics is seeking two individuals to perform legal research, and draft briefs and memoranda for complex, financially-oriented attorney disciplinary cases. The selected individuals will also prepare investigative reports and pleadings for pending ethics cases and will assist ethics counsel in preparing for oral argument before the Supreme Court of New Jersey and the Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Review Board. June through August: 35 hours per week. September through May: 15-20 hours per week. Qualifications: Satisfactory completion of one year of law school or current enrollment as a first year law student with substantial legal writing experience. Excellent writing skills are essential. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 2: Appellate Division, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is searching for a candidate to join a case processing team in the Appellate Division. The selected individual will be responsible for the management of a caseload of appeals from docketing until ready for calendaring and post judgment activity; analyzing, monitoring and processing appeals in accordance with court rules and established practices; setting priorities and organizing work to ensure efficiency; processing motions and issuing appropriate orders; maintaining the automated docket for all appeals; responding to inquiries from judges, attorneys, and other interested parties regarding appellate procedures and/or the status of appeals; completing the final review of appeals to ensure appeals are ready for the court’s review; and other relate duties as required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree. Two years of experience in case management involving gathering and analyzing case-related information which shall have included the exercise of judgment and discretion, reviewing cases to identify case management and discovery needs, coordinating with judges and/or attorneys to resolve case issues, and/or preparing reports of findings and recommendations. CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ANALYST: Administrative Office of the Courts, Fort Myers, FL. Summary: This professional systems analyst position is responsible for the analysis, development, and implementation of technology solutions that address the criminal case management system business processes for the Courts. Criminal case management entails all pre-adjudication and post-adjudication case processes, which include pretrial services, criminal trials, plea processing, criminal calendaring, criminal diversion programs, and County Probation supervision. The systems analyst is required to perform business process analysis, produce detailed specification and analysis models, conduct project planning, establish timelines, and meet deadlines for the development, implementation, and management of the Courts’ criminal case management systems. This position will report directly to the Court Technology Officer. ANALYSTS: (General Description) Summary: This position will be required to exercise leadership and analytical skills.  They will assist in the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures as well as analyzing research and data in order to evaluate existing programs.  Qualifications: This individual should possess in master’s degree in a related field and have at approximately three years experience in the particular field.

SENIOR COURT ANALYST II: Office of the State Courts Administrator, Court Services, Tallahassee, Florida. Summary: This is responsible professional work performing complex analytical and statistical research, preparing detailed written reports, and making formal presentations of recommendations on a variety of court management studies and projects. An employee assigned to a position in this class is responsible for research techniques and design, data collecting and selecting the methods of data collection and presentation. Duties: Recommendations may include an evaluation of existing court programs and making proposals for improving court management and the delivery of court services. A Senior Court Analyst II may also act as a project leader in developing and implementing new court programs, and providing technical assistance to the district and circuit courts. Program responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, jury management, case management, sentencing guidelines, judicial certification, court reporter certification, alternative dispute resolution, and interpreter certification. A Senior Court Analyst II also provides professional support to judicial committees, commissions, councils, and boards. Working relationships are established with justices, judges, court administrators, clerks of court, a variety of professionals serving judicial commissions, and other officers of the judicial and criminal justice system. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Research, Planning, and Court Services, a Court Program Manager, or a Court Administrator. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in judicial administration, public administration, criminology, research design, statistics, systems analysis, political science, or a related social science, and four years of professional experience in judicial administration, research and analysis, or program administration and evaluation. SENIOR COURT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST: Arizona Supreme Court, Phoenix, Arizona. Summary: This position administers a wide range of complex projects that involve planning, researching and analyzing court administration and operations in order to implement statewide strategic agenda initiatives. This position will provide high level support, perform research and provide information to committees as directed. This position will work in tandem with a second Sr. Court Management Specialist to coordinate the implementation of CourTools; work with the court community to implement programs that will guarantee the availability of qualified language interpreters for non-English speaking litigants; and staff a new state level committee on victim's rights. Duties: Some essential functions of the job include analyzing court processes to identify problems, providing recommendations and preparing reports, developing projects to improve court operations, researching and developing grant proposals, conducting studies involving data collection and analysis, developing statewide training curriculum, and serving as an educational faculty or facilitator. In addition, this position fosters and maintains cooperative working relationships within the criminal justice community and other governmental and private agencies in order to achieve general organizational and specific project goals. Successful candidates should have the ability to staff, coordinate and facilitate Supreme Court committees comprised of Judges, Court Administrators, Clerks of Court, as well as other criminal justice system stakeholders and the public. Qualifications: Advanced degree in a related field and graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a major in public or judicial administration, criminology, systems analysis, political science or a related social science. Seven years experience in a variety of court management positions, including three years experience in court administration, operations or consulting; knowledge of management planning and research principles, methods and techniques; excellent oral and written communication skills; and excellent project management skills and experience. Graduation from the NCSC Court Executive Development Program (CEDP); mid-to higher-level management experience in a general jurisdiction court; and knowledge of the rights afforded to victims in the court system. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 4: Office of Trial Court Services, Municipal Court Services Division, AOC, New Jersey Judiciary. Duties: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an individual to design reports and analyze municipal court data including data required under N.J.S.A. 26:2B-35; draft budgets and quarterly reports for grant administration; attend various committee and subcommittee meetings and prepare minutes as necessary. The selected individual will also respond to requests for technical information from Judges, Division Managers, court staff and the public; and assist with the design and maintenance of the Division’s Intranet and Internet Websites. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Five years of professional experience in program development, program analysis, program administration or administrative research. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience. RESEARCH ANALYST: Judicial Council of California, Office of Court Research, Executive Office Program Division, San Francisco, California. Summary: The Research Analyst position, in the Office of Court Research, with the Executive Office Programs Division, will work on a wide range of projects including studies of workload, the development of performance measures, data improvement, jury management, the utilization of court interpreters, and drug-court evaluation. In consultation with subject matter experts, analysts are expected to design research strategies, develop questionnaires and surveys, manage and evaluate projects. Duties: Research Design-This involves meeting with subject-matter experts to learn about policy questions currently under consideration and develop research strategies to address these questions. Research design requires creativity in constructing surveys to collect primary data and/or identifying existing data sources that can guide policy. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of different methodologies and working within tight timeframes is critical; Data Collection and Data Management: This includes conducting data collection via different qualitative and quantitative modes; providing training for court staff in data collection requirements, developing analysis plans, designing and managing specified databases, and establishing data quality control practices and procedures; Collaboration in the Development of Research - This involves working collaboratively with other analysts as well as subject-matter experts in all phases of research and requires the flexibility to adapt research strategies to take into account data limitations and time constraints; Project Implementation - This includes drafting reports, memos summarizing findings or progress toward completion of projects, and newsletter articles on research projects; giving oral presentations to a wide range of audiences; responding to questions; and providing available information and statistical data to management, staff, other governmental agencies, and the public. Qualifications: This position requires equivalent to possession of a bachelor's degree, preferably with major course work in social science, statistics, mathematics, or public/business administration with a concentration in research methods. Additionally, three years of professional analytical experience in conducting research and planning projects. Possession of a directly related postgraduate degree may be substituted for one year of experience.) or two years as a Staff Analyst with the judicial branch in professional planning and research. COURT PROGRAMS AND MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST: AOC, Raleigh, North Carolina. Summary: The person in this position will provide court administration and management services to the trial courts of North Carolina through operational and policy analysis; program design, development and oversight; and technical assistance and consultation regarding case management and court operations. The person in this position evaluates program administration and court management practices that affect the function of the trial courts such as Family Courts, Drug Treatment Courts, Interpreter Services, Child Custody and Visitation Mediation Services, Court-Ordered Arbitration, and jury management. Duties: Provide analysis, workflow and management technical assistance, and assistance in implementation to trial court officials for statewide directives and local projects; perform workflow studies in clerks of court offices; assist trial court officials to design and implement Family Courts; provide statewide oversight and monitoring of specialty courts and specialized services; assist court officials and specialty court staff to develop local rules, and operating and/or policy guidelines; design and assist in presenting educational programs on case management and best practices models for specialty courts for AOC staff, court officials, and their respective support staff. The position requires frequent state-wide travel. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in court administration, public administration, human services, political science or business administration and six years of experience in court or related program administration; prefer a juris doctorate or master’s degree in court administration, human services or public administration, and five years of experience in court administration or related program administration. SENIOR COURT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST: Arizona Supreme Court, Phoenix, Arizona. Summary: This position administers a wide range of complex projects that involve planning, researching and analyzing court administration and operations in order to implement statewide strategic agenda initiatives. This position will provide high level support, perform research and provide information to committees as directed. This position will work in tandem with a second Sr. Court Management Specialist to coordinate the implementation of CourTools; work with the court community to implement programs that will guarantee the availability of qualified language interpreters for non-English speaking litigants; and staff a new state level committee on victim's rights. Duties: Some essential functions of the job include analyzing court processes to identify problems, providing recommendations and preparing reports, developing projects to improve court operations, researching and developing grant proposals, conducting studies involving data collection and analysis, developing statewide training curriculum, and serving as an educational faculty or facilitator. In addition, this position fosters and maintains cooperative working relationships within the criminal justice community and other governmental and private agencies in order to achieve general organizational and specific project goals. Successful candidates should have the ability to staff, coordinate and facilitate Supreme Court committees comprised of Judges, Court Administrators, Clerks of Court, as well as other criminal justice system stakeholders and the public. Qualifications: Advanced degree in a related field and graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a major in public or judicial administration, criminology, systems analysis, political science or a related social science. Seven years experience in a variety of court management positions, including three years experience in court administration, operations or consulting; knowledge of management planning and research principles, methods and techniques; excellent oral and written communication skills; and excellent project management skills and experience. Graduation from the NCSC Court Executive Development Program (CEDP); mid-to higher-level management experience in a general jurisdiction court; and knowledge of the rights afforded to victims in the court system. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE: Virginia Supreme Court, Richmond, VA. Duties: working with project teams to develop statistical models of judicial sentencing practices, to identify risk factors associated with the likelihood of offender recidivism, to conduct impact analysis of proposed policy changes, to develop sampling, data collection and analysis plans for special projects, and to present qualitative and quantitative research results using various software applications. Qualifications: Proficiency in the theory and application of multivariate statistical analysis techniques and social science research methods, experience with the application of statistical analysis software such as SPSS or SAS, and ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, complex information to various audiences. An advanced degree in a social science discipline is desirable. Prior experience working with large data bases is also desirable. DEPUTY DIRECTOR, PLANNING & ANALYSIS/COURT SERVICES: Supreme Court of Nevada. AOC. Duties: This position is an executive position within the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), a division of the Nevada Supreme Court. Under the direction of the AOC Director, this position is responsible for the Planning and Analysis division, and the Court Services unit of the AOC, their functions and operations. The incumbent will oversee the Uniform System for Judicial Records, Court Improvement Projects, Court Interpreters, Judicial Council Committees, Domestic Violence and other tasks and activities related to the general and limited jurisdiction courts. Other related position responsibilities may include representing the AOC and Supreme Court to the Legislature and other government entities; developing and implementing policies of the AOC and Supreme Court; developing and administering grants; and representing the Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts in his absence; and other responsibilities and tasks as assigned. Qualifications: Equivalent to possession of a bachelor’s degree in a related field (criminal justice, court, business or public administration) and 8 years of increasingly responsible experience in a relevant field, including a minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible management experience. Experience in a related field may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.
