INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST 3: Supreme Court Clerk’s Office, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The Supreme Court of New Jersey is currently seeking an IT professional to work under the direction of the information Technology Department Manager. Duties: The selected individual must have excellent communication skills; and will administer office information systems; prioritize multiple project schedules; act as a lead worker to team members or other groups of non-subordinates in assigned tasks; provide programming, training or cross training to other IT Analysts and jury staff; install, configure, and support PC (Windows Operating System and in-depth Office 2003 support), network hardware and software; and perform related work as required. The selected individual will work in our local area network environment with the opportunity to use state of the art technology including Windows Server 2003 and XP Professional clients, Active Directory Group Policy administration. The selected individual should be able to deploy software using administrative methods, create test and deploy security enhancements using group policy objects and maintain and enhance a Windows 2003 Network. Knowledge of Active Directory is essential to this position. Duties: Under the general direction of the Administrative Supervisor 4 (Information Technology Manager), the selected individual will administer a Local Area Network (LAN); monitor communications and/or computer system performance; conduct diagnostic routines and analyze (troubleshoot) advanced information processing, system error conditions, and system hardware and software; evaluate computer system performance data; organize (tune) operating system and network software for optimum performance; implement information security procedures; install, configure, and maintain PC and network hardware and software; analyze (troubleshoot) system hardware and software problems; maintain computer and communication links between the Administrative Office of the Courts and the Office of Attorney Ethics; and perform other related tasks as necessary. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST 3: Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage. Summary: Essex Vicinage is seeking an experienced individual to work in the Facilities Management Unit. The selected individual will install, maintain, troubleshot and repair telecommunications systems and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to: diagnosing malfunctions in lines and equipment; distributions systems; programming software-controlled user features; performing site visits to develop solutions to user needs; and conducting scheduled preventive maintenance routines. SYSTEMS ANALYST-1: Nevada Administrative Office of the Courts. Duties: maintains existing systems, writes and maintains computer programs and provides technical support for computer users. Performs detailed analysis of Court and user needs for technology. Modifies, designs, develops, tests and implements programs, applications and systems specifications based on systems analysis to automate manual processes and to reengineer existing systems. Develops and programs applications and systems based on the systems analysis performed. Designs user input methods, system outputs, data and file structures, program modules, hierarchy diagrams and flow charts. Prepares technical and user documentation and training materials. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management or in a technical discipline and at least three years’ experience in programming, systems design, analysis or support, including client/server technology. SYSTEMS ANALYST-1/FIELD-SUPPORT: Las Vegas, New Mexico. Judicial Information Division (JID) of the Administrative Office of the Courts. Duties: Provide customer support and application user training. Position will also include the diagnosis and resolution of computer hardware, software and network problems in multiple locations with client-server WAN’s and LAN’s, local area networks, and stand-alone configurations; installs, configures, and maintains stand-alone and networked personal computers, servers, software and local area networks; and provides technical user training and assistance in using software, hardware and networks. Tasks may be performed on-site or remotely through telephone communication with users, with monitoring tools or with direction to on-site staff to perform diagnostic procedures. Travel throughout New Mexico is required. JUDICIARY INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN: Information Technology Office, AOC, Trenton, New Jersey. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an individual to work under the supervision of a Court Executive (Project Manager), or other supervisory personnel and, as part of an application development team, the selected individuals will participate in the support and development of on-line real time Judiciary case management systems. The selected individuals will have the opportunity to learn mainframe technologies and be exposed to microcomputer technologies including: Visual Basic, IDMS, COBOL, FOCUS, JAVA, C++, ORACLE, Windows 2000, Windows NT/95, JAVA Script, ADS/O, IBM WEBSPHERE. Other duties include updating system documentation, filing, and performing related duties. NOTE: This position is limited to a maximum of 944 hours in a fiscal year. Hours of work are a minimum of 20 hours per week and may not exceed 35 hours per week under normal working situations. Qualifications: Thirty credit hours from an accredited college including successful completion of a course in a mainframe or microcomputer application development language, e.g. C++, COBOL, Visual Basic, Java, HTML, and a course in introduction to computer science. PC ANALYST: State of New York Unified Court System, Ninth Judicial District. Administrative Judge’s Office. White Plains, New York. Duties: PC Analyst are assigned to courts, agencies, and administrative offices throughout the Unified Court System, where under supervision of local court, agency, and administrative personnel, they train employees in the use of PC software and hardware, and assist in the analysis, design, development, and enhancement of particular PC data processing systems in accordance with Unified Court System standards, policies, and procedures. PC Analyst resolve problems with the implementation and operation of computer equipment, software, and printers. PC Analysts may work under the supervision of Senior or Principal PC Analyst, and perform other related duties. Duties also include: Analyze, design, program and implement database applications specific to court activities in Supreme and County Courts, Surrogate’s Courts, Family Courts, City Courts, Supreme Court Libraries, Commissioner of Jurors Offices, Security and Administration. Frequent travel throughout the district will be necessary (Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester ). Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from an accredited college or university and two years of experience using software such as Paradox, Lotus 123 Macros, WordPerfect, GroupWise, Windows, OS/2, COBOL, and C++; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. SYSTEMS ANALYST: Indiana Supreme Court, Division of State Court Administration, Summary:  The Systems Analyst is expected to play a key role in the development, implementation, installation, and operations of information and functional systems for the organization. Duties: Include analysis of all systems involved in the JTAC project, which include local agency systems, appellate and country court systems, and several systems of state agencies outside of the judiciary. Other duties may apply as assigned to him/her by the Chief Justice, Chair of JTAC, the Executive Director, the Director/Counsel of Trial Court Technology and the MIS Director. Qualifications:  A Bachelors degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent; to four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Superior verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. PC SYSTEMS SPECIALIST: Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, Denver, Colorado.  Duties:  installs, administers, maintains, and repairs PC hardware and related peripherals; performs a variety of duties relating to the selection, procurement, installation, training, user support, administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all court hardware and software; participates in analysis, development, implementation, operation, modification, support, and enhancement of automated systems; and assists in the integration of PCs into national and local networks.  Some travel may be required.  Qualifications:  high school graduate or equivalent with three years’ general and three years’ specialized experience. INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER: Butler County, Hamilton, Ohio.  Qualifications: Two-year project.  Minimum B.S. degree in Information Systems or equivalent.  Experience with VMS and Windows/DOS systems and 4GL database environments (i.e., Unidata, Oracle, etc.)  Five years experience in systems management or equivalent experience required.  Court and criminal justice background preferred. DATA PROCESSING PC/COURT AUTOMATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST: Georgia Courts Automation Commission, Atlanta, Georgia.  Duties:  Implementation and ongoing support of SUSTAIN court case management software for local county courts; advisor to state-level help desk for field support of local county PCs and LANs.  Qualifications:  advanced experience with MS-DOS, Windows, WordPerfect and  thorough  working knowledge of SUSTAIN court case management software and companion modules.  Novell certification a definite plus.  Superior interpersonal skills, professional manner, and team player attitude required for this high profile position.  Salary:  $32,000 - $48,000. COURT AUTOMATION SPECIALIST: Administrative Office of the Courts, Phoenix, Arizona.  Duties: The incumbent coordinates and provides systems development planning and analysis, implementation services, training, and on-going support for an automated court information system in mid-range, PC, and LAN environments statewide; supervises technical and support staff; participates in and coordinates training and implementation activities, providing court operations expertise in requirements definition; prepares program and project plans to implement program goals and objectives; meets with users to determine effectiveness of supported programs; prepares written operations and training manuals; and consults with users to develop automation solutions to business problems.  Qualifications: include a bachelor's degree in information systems or a related field; ten years of combined education and experience; experience in court operations and management; and experience in systems development management, including supervisory duties.  Desired knowledge, skills, and background include mid-range systems (AS/400 and VAX), PC and LAN experience; background in systems and requirements analysis; strong planning, organizing and managing abilities; good oral and written expression; the ability to successfully complete multiple projects and tasks; and working knowledge of project planning software and principles.  Starting salary is $37,620 annually.  (1993)

SYSTEMS ANALYST II: Alaska Court System, Anchorage, Alaska.  This is a temporary position for up to one year.  Duties: The incumbent serves as a project analyst for various courts; is responsible for requirements analysis and design specs for continued automation of the appellate court; analyzes needs, procedures, etc., to determine content of design specs; performs other assigned tasks; and acts as liaison between the appellate court and technical operations.  Qualifications: include a college degree in CIS or business management with emphasis on computer science or closely related field, and four years of professional experience as a systems analyst in a large office automation environment.  Extensive court experience, two years of additional experience in developing and implementing systems designs as a project leader of major office automation, experience in UNIX or UNIX LAN and PROGRESS are preferred.  Salary is $46,624-49,861 annually.  (1992)
