DIRECTOR – JUDICIAL EDUCATION: Office of the Court Administrator/Vermont Supreme Court. Summary: A permanent full time opening exists for a Director – Judicial Education at the Office of the Court Administrator and the Vermont Supreme Court. Duties: This position will involve managerial, administrative and public information work, including the responsibility for planning, organizing, staffing and evaluating the Judiciary’s education efforts for judicial officers. The person who fills this position will be stationed in Montpelier, Vermont. Travel to other locations and overnight meetings may be required, with reimbursement at state rates. Although duties normally occur within a regular weekday schedule, weekend and evening activity may be necessary. This is an exempt Judicial Branch position that reports to the Court Administrator and is part of the senior staff. Duties: Work is performed with considerable latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. Specific examples of work include: Develops and produces an annual Judicial College for Judicial Officers as well as other educational programs throughout the year, provides orientation and mentoring programs for new judges, coordinates out-of-state judicial education programs, and arranges personal assistance for judges in substantive and technical areas of the law. This position works to meet the day-to-day training needs of judicial officers and to provide the knowledge and skills development that will enhance career-long personal and professional growth. Researches educational topics and identifies and obtains presenters for educational programs. Designs in-state educational programs and acts as a clearing house for out-of-state programs. Negotiates contracts with speakers, vendors and institutions. Reviews and evaluates all education programs. Prepares and manages the education budget and statistical, financial and management information. Identifies and defines individual and systemic educational needs, and meets those needs, utilizing existing monies and grant funds; monitors grant applications and follow up reporting requirements. Oversees the development and administration of employee education programs. Supervises the manager of employee education and an administrative assistant. Continually strives to improve the operation of the Judiciary on a county, regional and statewide basis by serving on various Judiciary as well as Executive and Legislative committees, as needed. Responsible for the courts’ language interpreter program, including the development of policies, procedures and training. Related duties are performed as required. Qualifications: Juris Doctor or Master’s Degree in Education or other related field. Two years of educational experience in a public or private organization. Two years of high level administrative experience in a public or private organization with the responsibility for the development and implementation of educational and training programs. Admission to the Vermont Bar may be substituted for the Juris Doctor Degree. An additional three years of broad and extensive experience in education or in the specific duties and responsibilities listed above may be substituted for the Master’s Degree. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with the Vermont or other judicial systems and their operation. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to analyze complex issues and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Salary: $60,000 - $70,000. (2006)

FAMILY COUNSELOR – MEDIATOR (DIVORCE AND SCHOOL PEER MEDIATION TRAINER): Mohave County Superior Court, Conciliation Court. Duties: Position is primarily responsible for the development, coordination, and facilitation of education training programs for divorce mediation and school peer mediation. May also assist in conducting divorce mediations. Qualifications: Ideal candidates should possess a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Family or Adult Education or related field from an accredited college or university (or willingness to obtain the required degree upon appointment); a minimum of 40 hours in a nationally accredited mediation training course or other relevant training organization and two or more years of progressive responsible counseling, mediation and/or education-related experience. AUTOMATION PROCESS ANALYST, SPECIALIST V: AOC, Arizona. Summary: Are you interested in working with a terrific team to provide quality education to court staff in Arizona? Duties: The Automation Process Analysts at the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) are responsible for designing and creating educational documents used in training court users on the current statewide court case management system called AZTEC, and in preparing to implement new case management systems. Training provided by Automation Process Analysts includes technical requirements of the case management software and business process procedures. A number of different educational formats are used to provide training to court staff across the state, including classroom training for up to 25 participants, one-on-one training at the court, and distance learning using the Centra on-line training tool. Qualifications: Our ideal candidate will have prior experience with AZTEC or another court case management system, knowledge of court processes, experience delivering group presentations and enthusiasm for providing quality service to court customers. Other required skills/qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to travel up to 50% of time, ability to analyze and evaluate information, prioritize work and meet deadlines. MANAGER II, JUDICIAL EDUCATION COLLEGE: Education Services Division, Supreme Court of Arizona. Summary: The Education Services Division is responsible for maintaining a statewide system of judicial education and overseeing compliance with judicial education standards in Arizona. The division conducts curriculum, program and faculty development and facilitates curriculum, program and faculty development for other groups. Division employees coordinate seminars, workshops, conferences, videos and teleconferences for judges court staff, and probation officers statewide. The Division’s Judicial Education College seeks a dynamic leader to direct an enthusiastic team of Education Specialists and support staff who develop educational programs for judicial officers. Duties: This position involves managing staff, processes, and products; developing and managing a budget; developing curriculum for judicial officers, investigating alternative delivery methods; projecting program formats; and working closely with judicial committees, other divisions, and staff using a collaborative team approach. This position also staffs the Judicial College Board and other assigned subcommittees. Other functions include conceptualizing, researching and writing proposals for new programs; negotiating faculty, site and vendor contracts; and developing policies and procedures. This position provides exposure to national and statewide committees which promoted education and training for judicial staff and offers the ideal candidate an opportunity to make a real impact on the Arizona judicial system by administering judicial education programs. Qualifications: The position requires strong management skills and experience with knowledge and skill in curriculum development and adult learning theory. Qualifications sought include a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Criminal Justice, or a related field and five years related experience including several years supervisory experience. DIRECTOR: University of Mississippi Law Center. Summary: The University of Mississippi Law Center is seeking nominations and applications for the position of Director of the Mississippi Judicial College. The Mississippi Judicial College (MJC) is a specially funded division of the Law Center. It provides training and continuing education for persons affiliated with Mississippi’s judicial system including trial and appellate judges, county court judges, municipal court judges, justice court judges, court administrators, chancery court clerks, public defenders, and court reporters. Annually, over 2,000 men and women attend the training and continuing legal education programs administered throughout the state by the MJC. Qualifications: Candidates must possess a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved institution or Masters in education or related field. Candidates’ experience and accomplishments must demonstrate administrative and leadership ability and the capacity to deal effectively with judges, lawyers, legislators, and other persons affiliated with the Mississippi judicial system. Three years prior experience with continuing legal education programs and administrative experience is required. Demonstrable ability to organize, lead, motivate and manage personnel and their tasks. Ability and personality to quickly develop relationships of confidence with public officials. Record of professional and personal conduct that will reflect credit on the University and MJC. (2006)

DIRECTOR OF JUDICIAL BRANCH EDUCATION: Supreme Court, Nebraska. Summary: This is professional staff work in developing and implementing a comprehensive education program for the Nebraska state court judges and employees of the Nebraska Supreme Court under the direction of the State Court Administrator and the Nebraska Judicial Branch Education Advisory Committee. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; considerable experience in the management and principles of adult education and curriculum design; and a demonstrated ability in working with a wide range of people and programs. An advanced degree and court knowledge is preferred. Salary: $4,143 - $4,687. (2006)

DIRECTOR, JUDICIAL COLLEGE: Supreme Court of Ohio. Summary: The purpose of the Director is to ensure that the Judicial College provides educational programs and services that meet the needs of those who are mandated to attend its courses, exercise initiative and autonomy in directing, planning and coordinating Judicial College courses and faculty. Also represents the Judicial College to the Board of Trustees and other entities in the Ohio judicial system as well as other branches of government. Duties: Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises operations of the Judicial College, directs activities involving faculty, courses, costs, locations, frequency of courses offered; prepares and submits operational budgets, makes recommendations to the Director of Judicial and Court Services regarding the operational need of the College. Plans, develops, facilitates, and evaluates traditional and teleconferencing educational programs for judges and magistrates and/or court personnel; conducts education needs assessments for specific target population (i.e. judges, attorneys, magistrates, court personnel, or other); designs and develops curriculum with appropriate planning committees; conducts planning meetings and introduces courses; selects faculty; selects sites; prepares announcements; estimates costs and monitors/manages expenses, grants and other financial resources, makes projections for future financial requirements. Meets with Board of Trustees, other entities in the Ohio judiciary as well as other state agencies or departments to explain departmental operations, budgets, grants, or other funding. Also identifies new courses, training/programs needed. Performs liaison duties with other state agencies, federal agencies, legislators, national organizations, public groups, and executives; has wide impact on public groups and individuals in important functional areas; initiates or responds to various correspondence from many diverse sources; speaks before various groups in order to promote activities; has final approval for release of information concerning policy procedures to news media or by direct verbal or written correspondence. Supervises staff; schedules and reviews work; provides ongoing training; handles disciplinary problems; prepares and communicates performance appraisals; maintains regular and ongoing communication with staff regarding work performance, professionalism, work priorities and deadlines and the daily operation of staff as needed. Qualifications: Requires the completion of undergraduate core program in business or public administration or instructional design, adult learning, education, instructional technology, or related field or equivalent. An advanced degree in social services, education, law or related field preferred. Significant experience and expertise in preparing and delivering informational and instructional programs for adults using instructional design model and analyzing performance needs assessments, or developing continuing education curriculum or access to educational partners/vendors providing continuing education is required. Ten years experience/expertise preferred. Experience in a legal environment also preferred. Demonstrated prior management experience is essential. Successful candidate must possess strong verbal, written and presentation skills. LAW OF JUDICIAL ADMINISTRATION FACULTY POSITION: School of Government, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Summary: Tenure-track faculty position to specialize in the law of judicial administration, which includes topics like the jury system, jurisdiction, judicial ethics, constitutional history, contempt, court system structure, and judicial official selection. Duties: Will research and write for, advise, plan and administer courses for, and teach North Carolina court officials concerned with these topics. Audiences include appellate and trial judges, clerks of court, prosecutors, defenders, magistrates, as well as executive branch and legislative branch officials, and the public. Work is centered in Chapel Hill, but requires occasional travel and consultation around the state. Faculty appointments are year-round (rather than for the 9-month academic year). TRAINING AND PERSONNEL SPECIALIST: U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Summary: As a member of the Administrative Services Department, the job incumbent provides a full range of human resources services to our judges, our management team, and our staff. Duties: Assessing training needs, designing and facilitating training programs. Planning, developing, and implementing personnel policies. Administering benefits programs by providing updated information to staff and responding to queries. Managing recruitment and selection functions. Advising managers on personnel-related issues. Serving as the court’s Employment Dispute Resolution (EDR) Coordinator. Processing personnel and payroll actions. Qualifications: We are looking for an individual with at least three to five years human resources experience, including training and development, computer proficiency in a windows environment, strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROGRAMS MANAGER: Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa. Summary: Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the person selected for this position will be responsible for the development and presentation of a wide variety of educational and training programs for judicial officers, managers and court staff. Duties: Designs and develops education and training programs and projects. Designs and develops curricula, course materials and education/training methods for programs and projects. Utilizes a wide variety of methods to present educational and training programs, including: in-person presentations, audio/visual, print, computer and internet/intranet. Conducts education and training needs assessments; interacts with judicial officers, managers and staff to identify, develop and plan the content of education and training programs. Analyzes education and training goals and objectives; Prepares cost estimates for projects and programs, and prepares cost/benefit analyses. Works with staff and user groups to coordinate technical training. Provides training on the methods and techniques of supervision and management. Evaluates training programs and recommends improvements. Establishes and maintains a network among educational professionals in the trial courts, the AOC, and multiple state and local agencies. Identifies, selects and oversees education and training consultants. Prepares correspondence and reports. Qualifications: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in education, business, public or court administration, or a closely related field. Possession of an advanced degree in one of the above fields is highly desirable. Four years experience designing, developing and/or presenting training and/or education programs for adults. Experience as a trainer, staff development specialist, or educator in a court or legal services agency and/or experience in human resources training development and delivery are highly desirable. OR: Any combination of education and experience that provides the candidate with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the Education and Training Programs Manager. DIRECTOR OF JUDICIAL BRANCH EDUCATION: Administrative Office of the Courts, Arkansas. Summary: Director of Judicial Branch Education is responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education and training for judges and judicial branch staff. Qualifications: The successful applicant should hold a law degree or masters degree in education, communication, business management or a related field, supplemented with experience in the delivery of adult education. Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills and experience teaching adults is desired. Background and/or experience working in the judicial branch is a plus but not required. Duties: Developing and implementing effective statewide education programs for judicial personnel; conducting programs for groups of judges and court support personnel; developing curriculum; developing needs assessments; conducting evaluations; teaching courses; monitoring out-of-state education programs for judges; working with various constituency committees to plan programs; recruiting and training faculty; writing, submitting and monitoring grants; developing and administrating education budget; and overseeing education employees and volunteers. JUDICIAL EDUCATION OFFICER: State of Hawai’i Judiciary. Summary: The Judicial Education Officer is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive judicial and employee development and training program for the State of Hawaii Judiciary. Duties: This responsibility involves participation in identifying short- and long- term Judiciary-wide training goals and objectives. The position is responsible for executing a program of continuing legal and judicial education for judges in collaboration and in support of the Judiciary Education Committee, including conducting legal research on various topics designed to assist judges in the resolution of community concerns; writing grants for judicial training and development; and managing special projects requiring legal expertise. The position is also responsible for developing and conducting a variety of Judiciary-wide employee development courses for supervisory, middle- and top- management personnel; and managing complex projects to assess the cost effectiveness of training. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school of law. General experience: Two (2) years of professional legal work experience in one or more of the following: legal research and writing, litigation, review of and drafting of legislation; advising administrative agencies, interpretation of policy to members of the bar and the public; development of policies, procedures and legal forms to implement new laws. Specialized experience: One (1) year of professional work experience which involved instruction, curriculum development and/or delivery of a program of employee development and training; or the coordination, development, and execution of a program of continuing legal education for attorneys or judges and their staff. Supervisory aptitude. Knowledge of court rules, practices, and procedures; various learning strategies; principles of motivation and group dynamics; instructional methodology; principles and practices of training for skill building and career building. Ability to conduct needs assessment; lead conferences and committee meetings; promote, organize, schedule and conduct conferences, courses, training sessions, etc.; evaluate programs; formulate and clearly articulate ideas orally and in writing; conduct legal research; deal tactfully and effectively with the public, public officials and employees; plan, organize and direct the work of others. Possession of a master’s degree in education from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of the required specialized experience. FACULTY POSITION, JUDICIAL ADMINISTRATION: School of Government, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Summary: Tenured, tenure-track, or fixed-term faculty position, depending on qualifications, to specialize in judicial administration and leadership. This person will work in the newly established North Carolina Judicial College to develop and deliver educational programs about court system management for NC judges, clerks of court and court administrators. Duties: Responsibilities include planning and administering continuing education, instruction, action research, advising, and publication. May also teach Masters of Public Administration students. Faculty appointments are year-round (rather than for the 9-month academic year). Work is centered in Chapel Hill, but requires in-state travel. DIRECTOR OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES: The Supreme Court of Virginia, Office of the Executive Secretary, Richmond, Virginia. Summary: The Director of the Department of Educational Services, reporting to the State Court Administrator. The Director develops and maintains a comprehensive continuing educational program for each segment of the judicial system. Duties: The Director plans content, identifies faculty, assists in developing presentations and training materials, researches, contracts with and supervises commercial meeting sites for all support requirements for educational programs. The Department is responsible for conducting or coordinating multiple major educational programs and training opportunities for judges, clerks, magistrates and other court personnel. Educational content is delivered both in traditional conference and seminar format and via distance learning technologies. Qualifications: In addition to demonstrable competence in the areas of responsibility, applicants should possess good organizational, management and written and oral communication skills and a sound knowledge of the legal system and principles of adult education. EDUCATION CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR: Office of the Circuit Executive, US Courts for the Ninth Circuit, San Francisco, California. Summary: The incumbent develops and monitors education programs for the Ninth Circuit Judicial Council Pacific Islands Committee. Periodic travel may be required. Duties: Performs a variety of activities to support the educational programs of the Pacific Islands Committee. Plans and administers the agendas of educational meetings and training programs. Determine training needs and methodology and instructional delivery for meetings, workshops, and conferences on a wide variety of court administration and legal topics. Develops courses, including on-line educational resources are technically feasible. Manages logistics of meetings, conferences, and educational programs. Consults on site selections, prepares requests for proposals, participates in contract negotiation, and prepares and approves budgets. Confers with training presenters, faculty, and/or consultants to determine requirements, travel arrangements, and fund allocations. Reviews and reconciles expenditures, verifies delivery of services for payment, and reviews and evaluates programs and site facilities. Provides staff support to the Pacific Islands Committee. Schedules and plans meetings to set educational priorities. Prepares agendas and reports. Compiles and prepares budgets for requested programs. Monitors implementation with contracts with education providers. Evaluates workshops, speakers, and program effectiveness. Qualifications: At least five years of experience in managing, consulting, or administering education and training programs, including experience planning and coordinating meetings and designing education and training programs. An advanced degree in subject matter related to instructional development or public administration is desired but not required. Salary: $43,000-$60,000. (2006)

ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 3: Superior Court of New Jersey, Union County. Duties: Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b (Operations Division Manager), would provide training to clerks and maintain transcription records and equipment, Will assist with records retention and facilities issues as necessary. Maintain database of transcription files and process them. Troubleshoot and install recorders throughout vicinage. Maintain tape inventory and provide accounting of location. Copy tapes as requests are made by attorneys and the public. Must communicate Judiciary Policy to litigants, judges, attorneys, court personnel, and outside agencies. Maintains confidentiality protecting the integrity of the courts and the best interest of both internal and external customers. Maintain good customer relations. Conducts training sessions and coordinates video recordings. Develops policies and procedures to ensure efficient court or unit operations. Plans and implements projects or programs as the need develops. Keep abreast of current trends, laws and rules. Evaluates program performance in accordance with established policies or procedures. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Three years of professional experience in the area of program evaluation, development or analysis, or program administration or administrative research. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute paraprofessional and professional experience for education on a year-for-year basis. JUDICIARY COORDINATOR 2: Superior Court of New Jersey, Passaic Vicinage, Human Resources Division. Summary: The Human Resources Division is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its team. The selected candidate, under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b (Human Resources Division Manager) or his designee, will be solely responsible for meeting the raining needs of the vicinage. Duties: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting annual detailed needs assessments; developing original training programs and/or making significant modifications to existing training curriculum; surveying and recommending training classes for certified courses; researching and networking to elicit trainers with specialty relative subject matter areas; recommending, developing and implementing training tools and technologies; developing and maintaining training database; developing and maintaining vicinage training library; building and maintaining a relationship with senior and middle managers, providing technical advice/assistance as needed; acting as internal consultant; participating in team development activities; evaluating program effectiveness; performing other related duties as required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Five years of professional experience in conducting training sessions or orientation programs, implementing projects or programs, assessing individual or group training needs, or developing communication plans within or outside an organization. DIRECTOR – BOARD OF BAR EXAMINERS: Board of Bar Examiners, Madison, WI. Duties: In this important role the Director has overall responsibility for the bar admissions and mandatory continuing legal education (CLE) programs, serves as counsel to the Board, acts as liaison between the Board and government agencies and law schools, and manages the Board’s office, budget and staff within established guidelines. Qualifications: Qualified candidates will possess a blend of legal and administrative experience, to include: (1) A law degree from an accredited law school and eligibility for admission without examination to practice law in Wisconsin; (2) Five years experience as a lawyer, legal administrator or comparable experience; (3) Demonstrated management skills; (4) Exemplary oral and written communications skills. Preference will be given to candidates with: (1) Administrative experience in a legal setting that involves multiple complex issues and (2) Familiarity with computer database systems and systems development. PROFESSIONAL TEMP-SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER: Mohave County Probation Department, Juvenile Detention, Kingman, AZ. Duties: Performs professional advanced journey level work involved in the planning and coordinating of special education program activities and developing group and/or individual education plans. Also monitors the special education program and ensures compliance with established federal, state and local policies, procedures, regulations and requirements with regular contact with departmental personnel, private and public agencies. This is a twelve month position. Qualifications: Requires current Arizona teaching certificate and Special Education Certificate or ability to obtain the same. Salary: $16.03 - $17.67/hr. (2005)

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, JUDICIAL EDUCATION: District of Columbia Courts, Washington, D.C. Summary: Incumbent is responsible for developing, managing and implementing a comprehensive program of education and training for the judicial officers of the D.C. Court of Appeals and the D.C. Superior Court. Duties: In conjunction with the Judicial Education Committee, performs assessment, analysis and regular updating of judicial training needs through the development and provision of educational programs provided by incumbent, by contract, or through programs of other institutions, identifies and utilizes outside resources as needed, including educational and judicial organizations, consultant faculty, invited judicial experts and consultants, published materials and technology, evaluates in-house programs and those conducted by other judicial training organizations nationwide to ensure excellence in delivery, design and content of the Center’s programs. Implements web-based and distance learning opportunities, provides assistance and support to educational and training efforts initiated by other staff within the Courts, as well as multi-disciplinary conferences and training that include judges, maintains knowledge of and provides timely information to judges and others regarding nationwide training opportunities, assesses changes in law, practice and administrative procedures for their impact on training and education needs, monitors judicial education budget, and assists in development and updating of bench books. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in education, court administration, public administration, human resources management or a related field, plus six years of senior level management experience in planning, administering and evaluating judicial education and training programs in a court or related adult education environment. SENIOR EDUCATOR: AOC, Olympia, Washington. Summary: Responsible for coordinating, organizing, and delivering judicial education programs and products to the Washington State Judiciary. Works under the direction of the Judicial Education Services Manager to develop, coordinate, and deliver judicial education programs and products. Holds decision making responsibility within the specific areas of expertise. Position may perform project or program lead responsibilities as assigned. Duties: Assigned to a senior advisory role to judicial education committees in planning, developing, conducting, delivering, and evaluating education programs and products. Coordinates education committee meetings and programs in cooperation with advisory committees, and the Administrative Office of the Courts. Provides support and assistance to judicial advisory committees in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of education programs consistent with established standards and requirements for judicial education. Develops procedures for judicial education programs and interprets policy and procedures to advisory committees and program participants. Develops, coordinates and evaluates curricula, courses, and educational materials using both traditional teaching methods and those available through ever-changing technology. Works with faculty to develop and deliver effective programs to the target audience. Provides consultation/instruction to advisory committees and contract faculty regarding educational theory and methods for inclusion in judicial education programs. Prepares reports, analyzes information, and conducts basic research as requested by the Judicial Education Services Manager. Assumes lead responsibility for special projects and programs as requested by the Judicial Education Services Manager. Maintains Judicial Education Services program files and records. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education or closely allied field. Five years of project or program management experience. Two years or more of full-time experience teaching/training adults. Two years or more of experience in curriculum development. Nine years or more of direct working experience in coordinating, delivering, and evaluating educational programs/services. Combination of education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge and global understanding of court business operations and/or JIS applications.

DIRECTOR, JUDICIAL EDUCATION: (General Description) (Position has state-wide responsibility) Summary: Directs the statewide administration of judicial education for both judicial and non-judicial staff. Duties: Plans, organizes, and directs subordinate personnel involved in developing, implementing, and maintaining court staff education. Assures adequate programming is offered for all court staff, directs program staff and budget to assure effective planning and implementation of educational events, staffs related committees, develops short and long term goals and advises management on educational trends and issues. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and eight years experience in the management of adult education programs. An advanced degree and court knowledge is preferred. Good presentation skills and thorough knowledge of adult education principles and techniques, curriculum development, and supervisory techniques and practices.

Summary: The position is primary staff to the Florida Court Education Council and responsible for managing the Florida Court Education Trust Fund. Duties: The Chief of Court Education directs work of fifteen staff, including attorneys, and other professional and administrative support staff. Qualifications: The position requires graduation from an accredited law school, admission to The Florida Bar and ten years of experience in the practice of law, including five years progressively responsible managerial experience. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: Indiana Judicial Center, Indianapolis, Indiana.  Summary: Applications are solicited for an opening as Executive Director of Indiana ’s center for judicial education, research, and training.  The Judicial Center serves as the staff for the Judicial Conference of Indiana and provides services and training to some 400 trial and appellate judges and over 700 probation officers.  The Center staff organizes conferences for judicial education, trains and tests probation personnel, conducts legal research for trial judges, staffs committees of the Judicial Conference for projects on court reform, and assists in legislative relations.  Recent legislation will prompt expansion of the Center’s functions.  The Executive Director oversees a staff soon to be about fifteen and a budget of approximately $1.5 million.  Salary will be in the high five figures, commensurate with qualifications.  The successful candidate will be a lawyer or judge with energy and ingenuity, demonstrated commitment to judicial education, and a high vision of the judicial craft. DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING: District of Columbia Courts.  Duties: The incumbent develops and directs the D.C. court's education and training programs for judges and court management; serves as liaison to judicial institutes and national training associations; develops education assessment strategies and surveys; and determines education and training objectives; plans, organizes, directs, implements, and administers education, training, and employee development programs for non-judicial court personnel.  Qualifications: include a master's degree in education, court administration, human resources management, law, or a related field and five years of senior-level management experience in planning, conducting, and administering judicial education and employee training programs in a court environment or related area.  Salary is $63,606-81,967 annually. (1993)
