COURT SERVICES SUPERVISOR 2: Civil Division, Superior Court of New Jersey, Camden Vicinage. Summary: Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2B (Civil Division Manager) and/or other higher level supervisory officer, the successful candidate will manage and cooperate professional and support staff on case related or case management teams. Duties: This individual will develop/formulate procedures or practices to ensure efficient court/unit operations and case flow management practices; evaluate unit or team performance in accordance with established policies or procedures; mediate conflicts among staff or team members; recommend and/or implement personnel actions (such as hiring, firing, promoting, disciplining, recognizing and/or demoting); provide direction for achieving organization, unit or project goals to assure that time and quality standards are met; resolve leave time scheduling conflicts for employees; foster ongoing communication with team and team judges; analyze statistical data and/or case management reports; conduct formal work performance evaluations of staff or team members, and keep abreast of standard operating procedures, “best practices,” court rules, and changes in legislation. Also, this person must possess strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills as well as the ability to effectively manage multiple projects. Does related work as required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Three years of increasingly responsible professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in Case Management; Supervision; Calendar Management; or Program Administration including: development, analysis, implementation, administration or research. COURT EXECUTIVE 1B: Superior Court of New Jersey; Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties. Summary: Under the direction of the Court Executive 2b (Criminal Division Manager), is responsible for assisting in the direction and supervision of the daily operations of the Criminal Division in one of the three counties in the Vicinage. Duties: This self-directed and results oriented individual will manage supervisory staff (team leaders) who oversee teams responsible for all case processing. The individual in this position will be responsible for preparing supervisory staff performance assessments; mentoring and coaching plans; recommending disciplinary and/or employee recognition actions; ensuring overall that the team leaders coordinate the work flow handled by staff in their respective teams; reviewing court activities for compliance with laws, court rules and directives. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for prioritizing work; monitoring work for completeness and accuracy; participating in formulating and developing goals and objectives for the division; preparing and analyzing case processing statistical reports; creating strategies to reduce backlog within time frames as required by court rule/statute. Other tasks include the assessment of training needs and requirements to enhance skills and abilities of assigned staff; preparation and administration of budget; monitoring ongoing training on policies and procedures; participating in job/team applicant interviews; and managing casework. COURT EXECUTIVE 1B: Superior Court of New Jersey, Morris and Sussex Vicinage. Summary: The Morris/Sussex Vicinage is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist in the management of the Criminal Division located in Sussex County. Under the general direction of the Presiding Judge and the Court Executive 2B (The Criminal Division Manager) the selected individual will assist in the development of goals and objectives for the division. Duties: Specific duties will include allocating resources to meet the division’s needs; recommending to the division manager the effective hiring, firing, promoting, demoting, reassignment and disciplining of employees as well as conducting evaluations of staff and mentoring and giving guidance to staff; acting as liaison between the Presiding Judge, the division manager, staff, outside agencies and organizations on matters pertaining to case processing; overseeing mandated programs, keeping current on legislation, court rules directives and judiciary policies affecting the division; assessing staff training needs; analyzing Division statistics; creating and updating case flow procedures; serving on Statewide committees; assisting in creating a positive working environment; investigating complaints from litigants and attorneys; performing other duties as required. COURT SERVICES SUPERVISOR 1: Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen Vicinage. Summary: The Bergen Vicinage is seeking a well organized, articulate individual with good people skills and customer service skills to supervise paraprofessional and support staff on case related or case management teams under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b (Civil Division Manager), or other high level official. Duties: This person will manage, coordinate and oversee the diversified work activities of a team of clerical staff. The selected candidate will instruct, supervise and evaluate team members on work related matters, mediate conflicts among team members; regulate the flow of work; supervise the overall file management of Civil Division Cases; write monthly IV-D statistical reports and annual inventory reports; hold staff meetings and attend Records Management meetings and training. The appointee will perform related work as required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Three years of increasingly responsible technical experience, one year of which shall have included experience in a field related to technical, administrative or case processing competency being supervised. DEPUTY DIRECTOR, ADULT CASEWORK: Wheaton, Illinois. Duties: Inspires the creation of a shared vision for effective casework services; Directs and facilitates the strategic planning process to achieve the mission and to reach the vision; Supervises and directs Adult Division Supervisors, Officers and support staff; Develops partnerships with justice system, community resources, service providers and staff; Identifies and works with staff to employ effective case management strategies which reduce risk and improve offender competency; Creates an atmosphere where learning is sought, shared and supported; Maintains a departmental perspective and models true collaboration in all interactions; Coordinates the planning, operation, and evaluation of divisional services; Measures and analyzes performance results and implements quality assurance methods. Qualifications: The chosen candidate must meet the qualifications for a position as a Chief Managing Officer (CMO), as required by the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC). DIRECTOR OF CASE MANAGEMENT: Family Court of Delaware, Wilmington, DE. Duties: This position is responsible for the statewide administration of Family Court’s case management program, including the Court’s civil and criminal jurisdictions, and the areas of records management, forms management and statistical management. The incumbent serves a leadership role in the development of policies and procedures regarding a diverse range of complex case management issues and provides recommendations to enhance case management. The Director of Case Management supervises five analysts and reports to the Court Administrator. Qualifications: Experience as a senior level manager in the development, management, supervision, and analysis of case management systems as they relate to the jurisdiction of a family court, juvenile court, or other court or criminal justice agency is required. Experience in providing business system support in an automated case management environment, and experience in the interpretation and application of federal and state statutes, Court rules, policies and procedures related to the jurisdiction of a family court, juvenile court, other court or criminal justice agency is also required, as well as excellent communication and team player skills. The possession of a Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, criminal justice administration, public administration, business administration or a closely related field is preferred. Salary: Minimum - $41,902; Midpoint-$52,377; Maximum-$62,852. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 4: Superior Court of New Jersey. Criminal Division. Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren Counties of New Jersey. Summary:  The Vicinage 13 Judiciary has an exciting opportunity for a detailed and customer service oriented professional to work as an Administrative Specialist 4 (Drug Court Coordinator) in the Criminal Division. Under the direction of the Court Executive 2b (Criminal Division Manager) and/or other supervisory personnel, the successful candidate will coordinate the activities of the criminal drug court. Duties: Primary duties include but are not limited to developing and implementing plans for budgets, accounting, grant management, staffing, equipment, logistics, or other methods, procedures, or programs. This individual will also coordinate the substance abuse evaluation for drug court referrals, develop communication plans within or outside the divisions, and facilitate discussions among federal, state, vicinage, county, or local officials. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree required. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 3: New Jersey Judiciary. AOC, Appellate Division. Trenton, NJ.  Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary Appellate Division Clerk’s Office is seeking an individual with solid administrative skills. Duties: The selected individual will be responsible for performing the initial paralegal review of case initiating papers received by the Court to include notices of appeal, notices of appeal with motions for leave to appeal, and orders of transfer; preparing documents for Intake Unit’s data entry; analyzing and determining deficiencies in case initiating documents; and advising attorneys and pro se litigants of deficiencies and actively monitoring the deficiencies. Additional responsibilities will include: handling inquiries from judges, judge’s secretaries, attorneys, case managers, and pro se litigants regarding practices and procedures from filing appeals and motions for leave to appeal; completing master log of appeals filed and preparing status reports; and other related duties as required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree. Three years of professional experience in the area of program evaluation: program development, program analysis, program administration or administrative research. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. TEAM LEADER: New Jersey Judiciary - Middlesex Vicinage , New Brunswick , N.J. Summary: Under the general direction of the Civil Division Manager, manages and coordinates the diversified work activities of a team composed of professional, para-professional and clerical support personnel, providing direct service to the Judge. Duties: Each team member is responsible for performing all aspects for case processing from intake through disposition, including docketing, case preparation, calendaring, records management, adjournments and dismissals. Does related work as required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. Three years of increasingly responsible administrative experience in a public, private or court-related environment with responsibility in one or more of the following areas: development, planning, coordination or implementation of program activities. DRUG COURT CASE MANAGER: 26th Judicial District, Charlotte, North Carolina. Duties: Supervises an active caseload of 35-40 clients; screens and assesses prospective clients; performs case management responsibilities within established program policies and guidelines; coordinates and monitors continuum of service delivery including advocacy to increase the effectiveness of services; monitors and reports client's program compliance in writing, via telephone, or in person as required by the court or service providers; compiles data; prepares reports; and maintains professional working relationships with community agencies and members of the criminal justice system. Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university, preferably with coursework in Political Science, Criminal Justice, English, or Human Services and one year of experience working in the criminal justice system or in case management. Substance abuse certification preferred. Knowledge of court procedures and legal terminology is beneficial. Considerable working experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word or other database, spreadsheet, and word processing programs is desired. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and self-starter with strong oral and written communication skills. Annual salary range: $26,443 - $35,176. (1998)

ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR II (Civil and Criminal Case Flow Manager): The Fulton County, Georgia, Superior Court is seeking applicants for the positions of Civil and Criminal Caseflow Manager. Duties: Positions will require a wide range of administrative functions in support of department operations, crossing functional lines to perform a diversity of duties, such as personnel, budget, finance, purchasing, information and records management, issues analysis and special projects. Preferred experience includes knowledge of differential case management for civil and criminal cases, Pro-Se Litigation, strengths and weaknesses of various case assignment systems, how to achieve firm trial dates, how continuances endanger trial date certainty and trial starts, how to manage heavy criminal caseloads, how to define and use case management information, how to plan, implement and evaluate delay reduction programs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in public or business administration or related analytical field with 3 years of progressively responsible work experience providing issues analysts and recommendations in an administrative field such as personnel, finance, purchasing, intergovernmental relations or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CASE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST : Utah State Courts, Salt Lake City, UT. Duties: The incumbent will have statewide responsibility for identifying and evaluating current case management practices and assisting in the development of alternative methods to improve case flow and minimize delays. Requires a bachelor's degree in public or business administration correlated field and three years of case management experience or a graduate degree in judicial or public administration and demonstrated expertise in case management. This is a two-year, grant-funded project. Annual salary range: $40,000 - $45,000 DOE. (1998)

CASE FLOW MANAGER: Mohave County Superior Court, Kingman, Arizona. Summary: Performs work involving the management, coordination, administration, oversight and evaluation of calendaring and case flow management functions and activities. Qualifications: include a bachelor's degree in public, business, or judicial administration or related field and three or more years of management, administrative, or professional experience in a court or justice-related organization. A master's degree is preferred. Annual salary range: $32,323 - $43,160. (1998)

CRIMINAL CASE MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR: 26th Judicial District, Charlotte, NC. JUDICIAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR: (Operations and Case Flow Management): Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County, Phoenix, Arizona. Duties: plans, directs and supervises administrative functions of the Civil, Criminal and Domestic Relations case processing staff within the Court Administrator’s Office; assists in development of policy and implements policy changes; researches and drafts rule changes; supervises staff and conducts meetings; reviews and evaluates staff performance and development; consults with and advises staff; represents department with other court, county, state and other agencies and community; coordinates and liaisons with other court employees, judges, commissioners and divisional staff. Minimum Qualifications: a bachelor’s degree from an academically accredited college or university, preferably including a major in business, public or judicial administration or a closely related field and six years of professional level court related experience; a master’s degree in business, public or judicial administration or a closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Preferred Qualifications: the successful candidate will have a strong background with a general jurisdiction trial court in case flow management in civil, domestic relations or criminal. CRIMINAL CASE MANAGER/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY: Charlotte, North Carolina.  Summary: This is a statutorily established position charged with assisting the district attorney in preparing cases for trial and in expediting the criminal court docket. Duties: develop systems, policies, and procedures for office operations; coordinate support staff and functions; manage activities associated with criminal case assignment; track and calendar; and monitor and evaluate case flow management and overall office operations. Qualifications: Applicants should have professional management training, preferably at the graduate level, and direct experience in criminal case/court management. Salary: $27,158 - $29,918; salary range caps at $43,000. (1994)

PROGRAM COORDINATOR, DIFFERENTIATED CASE MANAGEMENT (DCM):Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage - Civil Division, Newark. Duties: plan, manage, and administer operations and activities of the DCM in the vicinage; act as program liaison to the court, the bar, and ancillary programs; and perform related duties as required. Qualifications: a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience involving the implementation and/or coordination of program activity, including administration of daily program operations. A master's degree in business administration, public administration, judicial administration, or related field may be substituted for one year of experience. Salary range: $25,200 - $36,750. (1994)

COURT DELAY REDUCTION COORDINATOR: Supreme Court, Columbus, Ohio. This position is funded by a grant from the Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Services and is an entry-level position. Duties: The incumbent helps trial courts improve case processing through implementation and evaluation of delay reduction programs. Qualifications: include three years of experience in the field of court delay reduction. Experience with training and familiarity with the court system is preferred. A J.D. is not required. Salary is $32,802-39,000 annually. (1992)

CALENDAR COORDINATOR: Essex County Superior Court, Newark, New Jersey. Duties: Under the general direction of the criminal division manager, the incumbent assigns, schedules, and maintains trial calendars; assist the presiding judge in ensuring an efficient, steady, and uninterrupted flow of cases to the trial judges; estimates completion of trials and ensures backup cases are ready for assignment; provides information on case flow; distributes court notices regarding case assignment; maintains records; advises presiding judge and division manager of progress, problems, and changes with the trial calendar; supervises staff and assigns work; and performs other related work as required. Qualifications: include three years of experience in the judicial system or a large private law firm with responsibility for preparing, recording, and filing of legal documents and make appropriate case assignments, one year of which must have been in a lead/supervisory capacity. Salary is $26,250-44,000 annually. (1992)

DELAY REDUCTION SPECIALIST: Administrative Office of the Courts, San Francisco, California. Summary: The incumbent directs the efforts of implementing trial court delay reduction programs in California’s trial courts. Qualifications: include a B.A. or equivalent; four years of experience in analysis, formulation, and implementation of operational policy recommendations in a trial court; and familiarity with word processing and PC applications. An M.A. in public or judicial administration or a law degree and a detailed working knowledge of the California trial court system and trial court delay reduction act is desirable. Salary is $4,216-5,124 monthly. (1991)
