COURT PROGRAM ANALYST: Office of the Administrator for the Courts, Olympia, Washington. Duties:  Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates judicially related programs that involve direct contact with the courts regarding program objectives; serves as liaison with the Superior Court Judges Association; responsible for staffing the Association Board and various committees, monitoring legislation and impacts on the superior courts; and managing other programs as deemed necessary. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in court administration, public administration, business administration, or related field AND three years' experience in court administration or program development. Additional experience in court administration or program development will substitute for education on a year for year basis. Please Note: The duties and responsibilities of this position require the incumbent to work one Saturday per month. Annual Salary Range: $40,644 to $52,044 (Range 58). (1998)

COURT SPECIALIST: Washington State Office of the Administrator for the Courts, Olympia, WA. This position will be filled at either the II or III level. Duties: Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates judicially related programs that involve direct contact with the courts regarding program objectives. Positions at the III level are responsible for completing complex or major projects, exercising independent judgment in managing programs, coordinating project and funding requirements and acting as team leader on special projects. Qualifications: Level II: Bachelor's degree in court administration, public administration, business administration, or related field and two years of experience in court administration or program development. Additional experience in court administration or program development will substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. A master's degree in court administration, public administration or business administration may be substituted for one year of general experience. Annual Salary: $35,904 - $49,512. (1998)

COURT SERVICES SPECIALIST: Minnesota Supreme Court, St. Paul, MN. Duties: Provides consulting services and technical assistance to trial and appellate courts. Assists in the analysis of court administrative and justice system procedures/operations and designs alternative management techniques and processes. Develops recommendations on case flow and jury management, domestic violence and child protection issues, specialized court calendars and systems, community and teen courts, restorative justice and early juvenile court intervention programs and other court matters. Works with the courts, other justice system government agencies, and social service agencies to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate judicial programs. Provides staff support to project committees or teams; support includes drafting rules, policies and procedures, drafting budget proposals, writing grant proposals and reports. Coordinates development of legislation, court rules and policies necessary for implementing judicially related programs. Qualifications: 1) BS degree and four years of experience in court administration, criminal justice, or a related field (a law degree or a master's degree in court/public/business administration may be substituted for one year of experience); 2) knowledge of state courts and of court administration literature and trends; 3) ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; and, 4) excellent interpersonal skills. COURT/SENIOR COURT SERVICES ANALYST Summary: California Administrative Office of the Courts, San Francisco, CA, has openings for Court and Senior Court Services Analysts to conduct policy and fiscal reviews in the Trial Court Funding Unit.  To implement recently enacted landmark state trial court funding legislation, analysts serve as budget liaisons to courts in an assigned region and serve as staff to the Trial Court Budget Commission.  Duties: include analysis of budget augmentation requests, analysis of statewide budget initiatives, and ongoing coordination with courts in the analyst's region.  Qualifications:  3 years of professional analytical or managerial experience in court or governmental operations, administration, management, or review and a BA degree (or additional experience to substitute).  Applicants for the senior level must additionally have 1 year of project management (lead) experience.  Salary:  $51,300 - $62,340.  Sr. Court Services Analyst:  $56,364 - $68,484. (1998)

LEAD BUSINESS ANALYST: DOMAIN PROJECT: Alameda County Superior and Municipal Courts, Oakland, CA. Summary: Alameda County is building a custom case management and decision support application (DOMAIN) for use by the municipal and superior courts in this county.  The Civil System is deployed in two municipal court locations. Roll-out to other locations and expansion to include criminal and traffic are scheduled.  The Lead Business Analyst provides direction to a team of business analysts whose primary duties are to gather, document and analyze business requirements for the DOMAIN application and to review, evaluate and streamline current court procedures.  Duties: Incumbent is a consensus builder whose goal is to promote court procedures that fully utilize the technological advantages provided by the DOMAIN system and to ensure that core operations are effectively supported by the system.  It is the responsibility of the Lead Business Analyst to ensure that each court location is trained and ready for new and upgraded features of the DOMAIN application as each release rolls out.  Qualifications:  In-depth knowledge of the legal process and court operations is required.  Experience in business process analysis and problem solving.  Knowledge of business re-engineering concepts and principles.  Experience in personnel management and supervision.  Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills. LEGAL ASSISTANT II (Unclassified): Disciplinary Review Board, Supreme Court of New Jersey, Trenton.  Duties: Under the general direction of the Chief Counsel, Disciplinary Review Board, prepares legal memoranda on complex ethics and discipline matters; analyzes facts, summarizes legal issues, conducts in-depth legal research, and advises as to the resolutions; drafts formal Decisions on complex ethics cases; independently drafts letters on behalf of the Board regarding ethics, violations, reviews; conducts analyses regarding discipline-by-consent and default cases; and other duties as assigned.  Qualifications:  Admission to the NJ State Bar. Two years of legal experience in a public or private environment.  Excellent research and writing skills are essential.  Annual Salary Range:  $52,628 - $73,182. (1998)

MANAGEMENT ANALYST II: Administrative Office of the Courts, Salt Lake City, Utah.  Duties: include collecting, organizing and manipulating data for use in policy development, forecasts, and special studies, utilizing statistical methods to sample, interpret, evaluate and analyze data, and assisting with the development and maintenance of the data warehouse.  Qualifications: a bachelor's degree with course work in research methods and statistical analysis plus three years of related experience.  Computer proficiency including Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and an understanding of SQL and database concepts also important.  Annual salary range:  $29,253 - $36,310 plus generous employer paid benefits.   (1998)

SENIOR COURT SERVICES ANALYST.  Judicial Council of California, Administrative Office of the Courts, San Francisco, Trial Court Services Division.  Duties: Provides lead direction, training, work review, organizing, assigning, prioritizing, and coordinating the work of other analysts and support staff.  Qualifications: Minimally requires three years of professional analytical or managerial experience in court or governmental operations, administration, management, or review including one year of lead experience.  Monthly salary range:  $4,560 - $5,541.  (1998)

MANAGEMENT ANALYST - PLANNING AND RESEARCH: Trial Courts of Alameda County, CA.  Summary: Performs professional-level analytical work in support of project and agency-wide administrative goals related to court rules, regulations, budgets, operations and administration.  Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration or finance or related field and two years of experience providing program or administrative support  with planning, research, and analysis of complex issues and development of related reports and policy recommendations or some combination of education and experience that shows required knowledge and abilities.  Monthly salary:  $3,995 - $5,204. Lauderdale, Florida.  Serving in the Trial Court Administrator’s Office, 17th Judicial Circuit Court.  Summary: This is professional work that includes general research, management analysis, and data collection and analysis.  Duties: include performing research, compiling raw and summary data, making calculations, and preparing reports; compiling and analyzing monthly court statistics, preparing periodic reports; producing forms, certificates, and programs brochures; and assisting in various court projects as requested.  Qualifications:  graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in criminal justice, public, or business administration is required; Master’s degree in judicial administration is desirable.  Experience working in court, government, or business, including research and computer experience, is highly desirable.  Annual salary range: $22,380 - $33,221. MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ANALYST II (COURT ANALYSIS):13th Judicial Circuit Court, Tampa, Florida.  Duties:  individually or part of a team, incumbent is responsible for conducting case flow management studies and operational reviews of court programs in a 45 judge, general jurisdiction, trial court.  Prepares and analyzes information and statistics related to civil, criminal, and juvenile case flow, jury management, and judicial resource allocation.  Also responsible for public outreach programs such as court tours, Law Week, newsletter, and producing informational materials.  Qualifications:  requires 4-year degree with major course work in public administration, criminology, political science, sociology, psychology, or acceptable related field with 2 years of experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of organizational systems, some of which included working in a court environment.  A master’s degree in judicial administration, justice or court management may substitute for the experience required.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as good deductive reasoning skills are also required.  Annual salary range:  $30,742 - $49,358. APPELLATE/SUPERIOR COURT SPECIALIST: Arizona Supreme Court, Phoenix, Arizona.  Duties:  Manages a wide range of complex projects that involve planning, researching and analyzing court operations, resulting in a more effective and efficient court system; analyzes court processes to identify problems, provides recommendations and reports; develops grant proposals; conducts analytical studies involving data manipulation; serves as an educational facilitator; and staffs committees.  Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree with five years of experience researching, analyzing, planning and writing in a court or criminal justice environment.  Prior supervisory experience in a court organization at the court administrative or deputy court administrative level preferred, as is a master’s degree or certification as a Fellow of the Institute for Court Management.  Position not covered by State Merit System.  Finalists undergo a background check.  Annual salary range:  $42,135 - $52,854, depending on experience and qualifications. COURT SERVICES ANALYST: Administrative Office of the Courts, Division for Court Services, Raleigh, North Carolina. Duties: incumbent serves as a liaison between the AOC and clerks of court in a geographic region by direct assistance to clerks in maintaining and complying with uniform recordkeeping systems, and identifying recordkeeping needs for the AOC. Provides on-site and classroom training for system users; provides on-site consultation and field assistance to clerks and others; and serves as a member of various system development teams for the judicial branch. Extensive travel is required within the anticipated geographic region: Winston-Salem to Charlotte, as well as periodic travel throughout the state. Qualifications: candidates must demonstrate through education and experience successful application of the following: creative problem solving, strong interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills, and computer skills. Requirements include a four-year college degree in business, public or court administration or related field, plus three years of experience in system, record management or court administration, preferably in a judicial or legal environment or equivalent combination. Annual starting salary range: $28,590 - $38,500 based upon qualifications. (1995)

COURT ANALYST: Court Services, Office of the State Courts Administrator, Tallahassee, Florida.  Duties: analyze information and data; implement data control measures; audit data collection for court case management reporting systems; research court policies and procedures; assist the design of survey instruments and data collection tools; and prepare reports of research findings.  Qualifications: bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in public administration, judicial administration, statistics, systems analysis, political science, criminology, or judicial administration.  A master's degree in an area cited above may substitute for the recommended experience.  Progressively responsible experience in court administration, research, or statistics may substitute for the recommended college education on a ear-for-year basis.  Salary: $2,160 - 3,348 per month. ASSISTANT COURT ANALYST: Seventh Judicial District, New York State Unified Court System.  Duties: provide professional assistance to court analysts and other personnel for projects involving personnel administration, resource allocation, budgeting and finance, and policy formation.  Qualifications: analytical and problem-solving ability, oral and written communication skills, and any one of the following: one year as a junior court analyst; bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; high-school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Preferred qualifications: familiarity with computers, including WordPerfect, DB Master, or Lotus.  Judicial grade: 16.  Base salary, $27,588. (1994)

COURT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST: Administrative Office of the Courts, Raleigh, North Carolina.  This is a professional-level position to coordinate a pilot project to provide support in case, jury, and resource management to trial court officials in selected judicial districts.  Duties: preparation and presentation of statistical information; documentation of existing procedures; problem identification; development of specific proposals to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of courtroom-centered operations; implementation of legislatively established programs (for example, court-ordered arbitration and mediated settlement conferences); training of judicial support staff on manual and automated case management systems.  Qualifications:  professional management training, preferably at the graduate level; excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills; knowledge and experience in court operations.  Salary range:  $35,000 - $46,000. MANAGEMENT ANALYST I: Fairfax County Judicial Center, Fairfax, Virginia.  Duties:  responsible for clerical, computer entry, and basic research working with research professionals to implement trial court performance standards in the Fairfax Circuit Court; collects, analyzes, presents, and disseminates data for use by judges, administrative office of the Supreme Court of Virginia, and the public; devises formats for reports; identifies sources of data for special reports; writes comprehensive in-house statistical reports; and prepares written comprehensive evaluation of each measure (a total of 75 measures are involved).  Qualifications:  graduation from an accredited college or university, prefer two or more years experience applying and presenting statistical analysis data, knowledge of trial court performance standards, experience with Dbase, Lotus, and WordPerfect, and knowledge of SAS, SPSS, or equivalent software packages.  Note:  this is a re-advertisement, it is not necessary to reapply.  This is a grant-funded position. Salary:  $29,865 - 36,302 Grade S19.
