DIRECTORS/COORDINATORS:
(General Description) Summary: This position will be
expected to exercise leadership and overall administrative

COURT EXECUTIVE 3B: Office of Trial Court Services, Probation Services Division, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a dynamic manager to lead the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) Probation Services division and to coordinate with and advise the Conference of Vicinage Chief Probation Officers on the development of strategic plans for and management of the delivery of Probation services throughout New Jersey. Duties: Under the general direction of the Court Executive 4 (Director, Office of Trial Court Services), the selected candidate will promote the welfare of children, families and communities in New Jersey by providing leadership in the enforcement of court orders, including major customer service initiatives regarding child support orders and payments; and in the supervision and monitoring of adult and juvenile offenders sentenced to a term of probation or admitted to an intensive supervision program including innovative initiatives such as the Outcome-Based Supervision Mode. The AOC Probation Services Division provides technical assistance to probation managers statewide, conducts research, implements pilot projects, and develops and implements policies, procedures, management systems, operational standards, performance measures, and staff safety protocols. This position entails extensive contact with the AOC and trial court officials as well as with Executive Branch agencies, including the Division of Youth and Family Services, the Public Defender’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Seven years of managerial experience, five of which shall have included responsibility for the development and management of budgets, staff, information systems and administrative operations; development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures, and for supervision of professional staff. A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience as indicated above. A law degree may be substituted for two years of experience as indicated above. COURT EXECUTIVE 3B: Appellate Division, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an innovative, service-oriented leader with strong analytical and managerial skills. The individual selected for this position will direct and manage all staff operations of the New Jersey Judiciary’s Appellate Division. Duties: The Clerk is responsible for the oversight and leadership of all operations in three major areas of responsibility: Case Management (7,000 appeals filed annually); Administrative Services (transcript production, facilities, personnel, information technology and budget); and Central Appellate Research. The selected candidate will be expected to develop goals and strategies for accomplishing objectives; analyze current case processing methods; devise streamlined and expedited workflow systems, and implement new processes while assuring a high level of quality control. This individual will effectively manage and develop approximately 200 professional and support staff; work directly with the judges in the exercise of their non-adjudicative duties; lead the Appellate Division staff in providing support to the 35 Appellate Division judges; serve on various management and policy committees; and assure excellent service to attorneys and litigants. The Clerk is appointed by the Supreme Court and reports to the Presiding Judge for Administration of the Appellate Division. COURT EXECUTIVE 2A: Probation Services Division, Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program, AOC, Camden, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a manager with strong organizational and team leadership skills to supervise the day-to-day operations of a regional office that provides intensive probation supervision to juveniles. Duties: The selected candidate will report to the Director of the Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program (Court Executive 2b), and will be responsible for: selecting, supervising, planning, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, training and evaluating the work of professional and support staff; communicating with judges, court staff, service providers, and community volunteers working with program participants; monitoring regional office compliance with established conditions, standards, practices, guidelines and procedures; monitoring the overall rehabilitative progress of juvenile participants in achieving established rehabilitative goals; conducting case reviews; monitoring caseloads, documentation compliance and reviewing statistical reports to ensure adherence to established standards, hearing, mediating and resolving complaints about the JISP program, program participants, their families, community volunteers, and sponsors; monitoring expenditures of funds; monitoring collection of court ordered fines and restitution; providing community protection by monitoring and enforcing compliance with court orders and conditions; devising work methods, procedures and workflow to ensure objectives of the JISP program are achieved; and performing other duties as required. COURT EXECUTIVE 3A: Office of Trial Court Services, Automatic Trial Court Services Unit, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a dynamic manager to manage and administer the operations of the Automated Trial Court Systems Unit (ATCSU). This unit assists the Information Technology Office (ITO) in the introduction of software enhancements for systems to the vicinages, including the requisite training for staff, state courts and federal agencies. The ATCSU also maintains a help desk for ongoing questions from the field and assists ITO development staff in the specification and design of new development and conducts corollary system testing. Duties: Under the general direction of the Court Executive 4 (Director, Office of Trial Court Services), the selected candidate will manage the coordination of all Superior Court judicial applications, training and implementation of all application areas. This individual will conduct field visits and evaluate Superior Court and Criminal Justice Practices; meet with Executive and Judicial branch representatives; manage the implementation and enhancement of existing software packages; coordinate activities with the ITO; supervise and cross-train professional staff; and work as a member of a team in the Office of Trial Court Services to implement priorities in the computerization area. MANAGER, BAY AREA/NORTHERN COASTAL REGIONAL OFFICE: AOC, San Francisco, CA. Summary: The Bay Area/Northern Coastal Regional Office (BANCRO) provides timely and relevant technical assistance to the trial courts within the region through experienced and respected personnel whose primary role is to partner with the trial courts in assessing problems, challenges and opportunities. The Manager of BANCRO will provide technical and consultative assistance in establishing and evaluating court programs and procedures, as well as provide localized assistance for BANCRO office programs to ensure the accomplishment of the organization’s goals and objectives. Duties: Serving as a technical court consultant to perform and coordinate specialized work in court operations, programs, administration and management; Developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the BANCRO regional office. Disseminating information to trial courts with an emphasis on how policy implementation would impact individual courts; Coordinate AOC divisions and trial court resources to provide comprehensive and consistent solutions to trial court issues; Communicate trial court issues, questions and concerns to the AOC and advocate for trial court interests via court site visits, participation in regional meetings, and conferences; Planning, organizing, administering, reviewing and evaluating the work of staff; Creating performance and development plans for employees; Planning, managing, reviewing and evaluating programs related to the regional office including a broad variety of issues affecting the trial courts such as legislative advocacy, budget administration, human resources, education and trial court policies and procedures; Developing, administering and monitoring the BANCRO budget; Partnering with trial court staff, judges and AOC management; Serving on various AOC committees to develop strategic initiatives, policies, and priorities; and Representing the judicial branch to both internal and external customers including the other California governmental agencies. Qualifications: Equivalent to possession of a bachelor’s degree and six years of experience in court operations, including a minimum of two years of increasingly responsible management experience; OR Two years in a supervisory-level professional class; OR Three years in a senior-level professional class with the judicial branch. Due to the nature of this job, the incumbent must be able to attend meetings outside of normal working hours, work occasional evening and weekend hours, and travel statewide as necessary. The ideal candidate will have a substantial background from a managerial position within a California court that has provided a broad and varied background in the areas of court operations and programs. CHIEF OF COURT IMPROVEMENT: Florida Supreme Court. Duties: This highly professional position is responsible for implementing, organizing, managing and evaluating court improvement initiatives for numerous types of court dockets in the trial and appellate courts. The Chief of Court Improvement oversees professional and support staff that performs complex analytical and statistical research, prepares detailed written reports and makes formal presentations and recommendations on a variety of court management studies and projects. In addition to the oversight of the unit’s general revenue budget, the Chief is responsible for overseeing numerous federal grants. The unit maintains relationships with other units within the Office of the State Courts administrator (OSCA), the Florida Supreme Court, judges, executive management within the Executive Branch and other professionals associated with the judiciary, primarily through providing staff support to numerous committees. The Chief of Court Improvement exercises considerable independent judgment and works under the limited supervision of the Deputy State Courts Administrator. This position is a member of the OSCA management team and assists with the analysis of pending legislation for program and fiscal impact. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a major in court administration, public administration, criminology, statistics, management, or a related social science, and seven years of professional experience in court or public administration including four years in a supervisory or management position, or in program management, in a court environment. A master’s degree in an area cited above may substitute for two years of the recommended non-management experience. DIRECTOR, BOARD OF BAR EXAMINERS: Supreme Court of Wisconsin. Summary: The Board of Bar Examiners, appointed by the Wisconsin Supreme Court to oversee admissions to the Bar and continuing legal education, has an excellent career opportunity for an individual interested in serving as Director. Summary: The position is primary staff to the Florida Court Education Council and responsible for managing the Florida Court Education Trust Fund. Duties: The Chief of Court Education directs work of fifteen staff, including attorneys, and other professional and administrative support staff. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 3: New Jersey Judiciary. AOC, Probation Services Division. Camden, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a detail-oriented individual with take-charge skills who enjoys working with people to join the state’s Probation Services Division, Intensive Supervision Program. Duties: Under the general supervision of the Regional Supervisor of IS”P or other supervisory personnel, the selected individual will supervise high-risk offenders, and assist program participants in attaining in identifying vocational, economic and psychological needs while monitoring participants for compliance with program conditions providing necessary programs and assistance. PROJECT MANAGER: The Administrative Office of the Courts, Santa Fe, NM. Summary: Seeking motivated applicants for one (1) full-time permanent Project Manager position. This is a highly responsible administrative position that includes the statewide coordination of the State Court Improvement Project (CIP) and the Tribal-State Judicial Consortium activities.
