DIRECTOR OF COURT SERVICES: (General Description) Duties: Directs the provision of management consulting and technical assistance services to courts by involving studies of court administrative and justice system procedures and operations and identifies problems and solutions by designing alternative management techniques and business. Directs the conceptualization, planning, implementation and evaluation of statewide initiatives, pilot programs, and other court and justice system innovations which may involve complex, multi-agency collaborations. Directs the development of grant proposals and funding requests. Supervises court services specialist and research/evaluation manager and staff. Directs multi-discipline and multi-agency teams. Qualifications: 1) BS degree and approximately six years of progressively responsible experience in court administration, criminal justice, or a related field (Court Management Fellow, a master's degree in court/public administration; or a law degree may be substituted for one year of experience); 2) knowledge of state courts and of court administration literature and trends; 3) demonstrated ability to conduct reviews of court operations and to manage programs and projects; 4) ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; 5) experience in problem solving, including the ability to focus on specifics while maintaining a perspective of the organization; and, 6) excellent interpersonal skills.

DIRECTOR OF COURT SERVICES: Office of State Court Administrator, Denver , Colorado .  Summary: The Colorado Judicial Branch is currently seeking an individual to assume the responsibilities of Director of Court Services.  The director administers the Court Services Division in the Office of State Court Administrator.  Duties: The director is responsible for programs in alternative dispute resolution; child support enforcement; judicial performance; trial court operations, automated legal research; statewide jury system; facilities management; internal audit; operations review; management analysis; records management; forms design and management; and, special project management.  Qualifications: Applicants must possess a degree from an accredited college or university and have six years of administrative, supervisory and management experience, preferably within a court environment.  The salary range is:  $61,392 - $82,260, dependent upon qualifications and experience.  (1998)

JUDICIAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR FOR COURT OPERATIONS: Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County , Phoenix , Arizona . Qualifications: Position requires a bachelor's degree in business, management, public administration, or judicial administration and 4 years of experience as a judicial administrator in a court system. A master's degree in court administration or related field may substitute for one year of required experience. Prefer background in statistical analysis. Annual salary range: $35,714 - $44,637. TRIAL COURT SERVICES DIRECTOR: State Court Administrative Office, Michigan Supreme Court, Lansing , Michigan . Duties: Under the general direction of the State Court Administrator, coordinates and directs, through unit managers, all Circuit, District, Probate and Family Court activities of the Trial Court Services Division. The Trial Court Services Division is responsible for the analysis of trial court operations and policy, and legislation and court rules affecting trial court operations. The division provides management support and audit of trial court operations in cooperation with SCAO Regional Offices. Serves as principal liaison to trial court associations, legislators, state and federal agencies and other agencies regarding policy, legislation and other trial court related matters. Qualifications: Knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a master's degree in court administration, business or public administration or a related field. Five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible management or administrative work experience, preferably in court operations. Travel and possession of a valid Michigan driver's license required. Alternative qualifications that would meet these requirements will be evaluated on an individual basis. Annual salary range: $62,702 - $88,719. (1998)

JUDICIAL COUNCIL OF CALIFORNIA: Administrative Office of the Courts, San Francisco , has openings at several levels in its Trial Court Services Division. Assistant Division Director, Trial Court Services: Duties: Assists in directing a multi-disciplinary team of 65 engaged in a wide variety of trial court projects including trial court funding, court interpreters, court coordination, legislative development, judgeship needs, and other programs and activities. Management activities include program and budget development, staff selection, training and evaluation, and establishing division goals and policies. Qualifications: Minimally requires BA (or additional experience) and 8 years of professional experience in court management including at least 3 years of management experience. Monthly salary range: $7,001 - $8,510. Supervising Court Services Analyst: Organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews, and evaluates analyst and support staff. Minimally requires three years of professional analytical or managerial experience in court operations, administration, or management including one year of supervisory experience. Monthly salary range: $5,254 - $6,386. Senior Court Services Analyst: Provides lead direction, training, work review, organizing, assigning, prioritizing, and coordinating the work of other analysts and support staff. Minimally requires three years of professional analytical or managerial experience in court operations, administration, or management including one year of lead experience. Monthly salary range: $4,560 - $5,541. Court Services Analyst. Plans and conducts studies relative to assigned projects, prepares reports, reviews and analyzes legislation, prepares budgets and cost estimates, and consults with the trial courts. Minimally requires three years of professional analytical or managerial experience in court operations, administration, or management. Monthly salary range: $4,150 - $5,044. All positions require a bachelor’s degree or additional experience to substitute. (1997)

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, TRIAL COURT SERVICES DIVISION: California Administrative Office of the Courts, San Francisco , California . Duties: As assistant director of the Trial Court Services Division, assists in directing and organizing a multi-disciplinary team of 65 engaged in a wide variety of trial court projects. The incumbent directly manages the Court Program Services Unit that is responsible for state court funding, court interpreters, court coordination, legislative development and analysis, judgeship needs, and other programs and activities. Division management includes program and budget development; staff selection, training, and evaluation; and establishing division policies, goals, priorities, and objectives. Qualifications: BA equivalent and eight years of professional experience in court management, including at least three years of management experience. Preferred qualifications include strong leadership and management, creative and innovative abilities, excellent written and oral skills. Annual salary range: $84,000 - $102,120. (1996)
