DIRECTOR OF COURT SERVICES: (General Description) Duties: Directs the provision of management
consulting and technical assistance services to courts by
involving studies of court administrative and justice system
procedures and operations and identifies problems and
solutions by designing alternative management techniques and
business. Directs the conceptualization, planning,
implementation and evaluation of statewide initiatives, pilot
programs, and other court and justice system innovations which
may involve complex, multi-agency collaborations. Directs the
development of grant proposals and funding requests.
Supervises court services specialist and research/evaluation
manager and staff. Directs multi-discipline and multi-agency
teams. Qualifications: 1) BS degree and approximately
six years of progressively responsible experience in court
administration, criminal justice, or a related field (Court
Management Fellow, a master's degree in court/public
administration; or a law degree may be substituted for one
year of experience); 2) knowledge of state courts and of court
administration literature and trends; 3) demonstrated ability
to conduct reviews of court operations and to manage programs
and projects; 4) ability to communicate effectively, orally
and in writing; 5) experience in problem solving, including
the ability to focus on specifics while maintaining a
perspective of the organization; and, 6) excellent
interpersonal skills.
ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 3: Office of Trial Court Services, Probation Services Division, Interstate Compact Unit, AOC, New Jersey. Duties: The New Jersey Judiciary, Probation Services Division, is seeking an enthusiastic, professional individual whose primary responsibilities will include involvement in the day-to-day operation of the Interstate Compact Unit; assisting in training vicinages/divisions and other agencies on both Adult and Juvenile Interstate Compact Rules, regulations and state-wide implementation of the National Adult Compact Information System (NACIS); assisting courts, Conference of Chief Probation Officers, Judiciary Divisions, other signatories and stakeholders; representing the Judiciary on related state and federal interagency issues; and drafting correspondence and reports. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Three years of professional experience in program development, coordination, program analysis, program administration or administrative research. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute paraprofessional and professional experience for education on a year-for-year basis. COURT INTERPRETER – AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE: Office of Trial Court Services, Programs and Procedures Unit, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Duties: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking individuals who, under the general direction of a supervisor in the Language Services Section, will serve as official interpreter/transliterator in the sight, consecutive and simultaneous modes during court proceedings and other court-related events for deaf and hard of hearing parties and others; assist in promoting compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Law Against Discrimination requirements; collect information (e.g., specialized vocabulary) on cases to prepare for the communicative event. Qualifications: Positions will be filled at one of the following levels based on candidate qualifications and available position. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 3: AOC, New Jersey. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking detail-oriented individuals with take-charge skills who enjoy working with people to join the state’s Probation Services Division, Intensive Supervision Program. Duties: Under the General supervision of the Regional Supervisor of ISP or other supervisory personnel, the selected individuals will supervise high-risk offenders, and assist program participants in attaining specific goals that ensure the successful completion of the Intensive Supervision Program. The selected candidates will assist in identifying vocational, economic and psychological needs while monitoring participants for compliance with program conditions providing necessary programs and assistance. COURT SERVICES OFFICER 2: Appellate Division, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is searching for a candidate to join a case processing team in the Appellate Division. Duties: The selected individual will be responsible for the management of a caseload of appeals from docketing until ready for calendaring and post judgment activity; analyzing, monitoring and processing appeals in accordance with court rules and established practices; setting priorities and organizing work to ensure efficiency; processing motions and issuing appropriate orders; maintaining the automated docket for all appeals; responding to inquiries from judges, attorneys, and other interested parties regarding appellate procedures and/or the status of appeals; completing the final review of appeals to ensure appeals are ready for the court’s review; and other relate duties as required. PROGRAM COORDINATOR II: Administrative Office of the Courts, Court Administrative Services, Judiciary of Guam. Summary: This is moderately complex technical work involved in planning, developing, implementing or coordinating federally funded or local programs and projects. Duties: Employees in this class perform moderately complex technical duties independently and on an ongoing basis and participate in the full range of complex technical duties under close supervision. COURT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST: U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio. Summary: The incumbent is a member of the District Court’s operations team and provides services to the bench, bar and public. This position is located in the Cleveland office reporting to the Operations Supervisor, ultimately reporting to the Clerk of Court. Travel between offices in Akron, Toledo, and Youngstown is required based on the operational needs of the Clerk’s Office. COURT SERVICES PROGRAM MANAGER: Travis County, Austin, TX. Duties: Manages and assigns the work of the Juvenile Probation Department Legal Services Unit. Plans and develops policies, procedures and programs. Prepares reports and monitors department workload to ensure policies, procedures, laws and regulations are followed and goals are met. Conducts work flow analysis and establishes department systems to ensure the efficiency and quality of departmental functions and operations. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: Court Services Division, Administrative Office of the Courts, Illinois Supreme Court. Duties: Work involves managing the Court Services Division, recruiting and managing a diverse professional staff, who are responsible for a wide range of programs, projects, and activities; providing technical assistance to the trial courts and ongoing legislative support to the State Court Administrator, preparing summaries of pending and enacted legislation for the Chief Circuit Judges and circuit court clerks. Summary: Under general supervision of the Director and Deputy Director of Court Services, this position provides rural court coordination throughout the State of Nevada; operational coordination and administrative support for a multi-faceted division of court activities; serves as a liaison between the Court and external rural county organizations. COURT EXECUTIVE 2A: Probation Services Division, Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program, AOC. Camden, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a manager with strong organizational and team leadership skills to supervise the day-to-day operations of a regional office that provides intensive probation supervision to juveniles. COURT EXECUTIVE 3A: Office of Trial Court Services, Automatic Trial Court Services Unit, AOC, Trenton, NJ. Summary: The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a dynamic manager to manage and administer the operations of the Automated Trial Court Systems Unit (ATCSU). This unit assists the Information Technology Office (ITO) in the introduction of software enhancements for systems to the vicinages, including the requisite training for staff, state courts and federal agencies. The ATCSU also maintains a help desk for ongoing questions from the field and assists ITO development staff in the specification and design of new development and conducts corollary system testing. Duties: Under the general direction of the Court Executive 4 (Director, Office of Trial Court Services), the selected candidate will manage the coordination of all Superior Court judicial applications, training and implementation of all application areas. This individual will conduct field visits and evaluate Superior Court and Criminal Justice Practices; meet with Executive and Judicial branch representatives; manage the implementation and enhancement of existing software packages; coordinate activities with the ITO; supervise and cross-train professional staff; and work as a member of a team in the Office of Trial Court Services to implement priorities in the computerization area. GRANT SPECIALIST II: AOC, Phoenix, Arizona. Summary: This challenging, newly created position offers an individual an opportunity to work with Arizona courts by processing court grant applications for state and local monies and monitoring compliance to the grant requirements. Additionally, this position works closely with the court services division financial specialist and the courts to monitor and ensure compliance to Minimum Accounting Standards (MAS) annual checklist and external three year financial review. Duties: Working with Arizona courts to ensure the grant application is complete and meet fund requirements, analyze each grant application and develop recommendations for management approval, track grant data in the automated system and prepare management reports, implement a grant monitoring process to ensure compliance to grant requirements and stated goals, and create and maintain policy and procedures for processing grants. COURT PROGRAMS AND MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST: Raleigh, NC. Summary: The person in this position will provide court administration and management services to the trial courts of North Carolina through operational and policy analysis; program design, development and oversight; and technical assistance and consultation regarding case management and court operations. The person in this position evaluates program administration and court management practices that affect the function of the trial courts such as Family Courts, Drug Treatment Courts, Interpreter Services, Child Custody and Visitation Mediation Services, Court-Ordered Arbitration, and jury management. Summary: This position is an executive position within the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), a division of the Nevada Supreme Court. Duties: Under the direction of the AOC Director, this position is responsible for the Planning and Analysis division, and the Court Services unit of the AOC, their functions and operations. The incumbent will oversee the Uniform System for Judicial Records, Court Improvement Projects, Court Interpreters, Judicial Council Committees, Domestic Violence and other tasks and activities related to the general and limited jurisdiction courts. . Duties: As assistant director of
the Trial Court Services Division, assists in directing and
organizing a multi-disciplinary team of 65 engaged in a wide
variety of trial court projects. The incumbent directly
manages the Court Program Services Unit that is responsible
for state court funding, court interpreters, court
coordination, legislative development and analysis, judgeship
needs, and other programs and activities. Division management
includes program and budget development; staff selection,
training, and evaluation; and establishing division policies,
goals, priorities, and objectives. Qualifications:
BA equivalent and eight years of professional experience in
court management, including at least three years of management
experience. Preferred qualifications include strong leadership
and management, creative and innovative abilities, excellent
written and oral skills. Annual salary range: $84,000 -
