INDIVIDUAL, MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPIST: AOC, Judiciary of Guam. Summary: This is complex professional family counseling work. Duties: Employees in this class perform the full range of complex professional duties which involves providing clinical treatment, including independent work in specialized areas of the profession. Qualifications: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or closely related field, and possession of a valid license in individual, marriage and family therapy issued by the Guam Board of Allied Health Examiners. Minimum Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of counseling. Knowledge of local laws relating to family matters. FAMILY COUNSELOR – MEDIATOR (DIVORCE AND SCHOOL PEER MEDIATION TRAINER): Mohave County Superior Court, Conciliation Court. Duties: Position is primarily responsible for the development, coordination, and facilitation of education training programs for divorce mediation and school peer mediation. May also assist in conducting divorce mediations. Qualifications: Ideal candidates should possess a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Family or Adult Education or related field from an accredited college or university (or willingness to obtain the required degree upon appointment); a minimum of 40 hours in a nationally accredited mediation training course or other relevant training organization and two or more years of progressive responsible counseling, mediation and/or education-related experience. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 4: Superior Court of New Jersey. Summary: Conducts Family Division mediation proceedings in a multi-county vicinage. Duties: The Judiciary is seeking a customer service oriented individual responsible for mediations and handling confidential social investigations for court and conducting interviews with clients of the Family Division. Specific duties will include maintaining accurate records, implementing legislative enactments and court rules relating to case processing and performing other related duties as assigned. Travel within the tri-county vicinage will be required. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social science, as specified in the Domestic Violence Hearing Officer Program Standards. Five years of professional experience including three years of experience in the areas of domestic violence or family crisis. ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST 4: Superior Court of New Jersey, Burlington County. Duties: The Judiciary is seeking a compassionate leader to mediate issues in abuse/neglect cases, involving the Division of Youth and Family Services, Law Guardians, attorneys representing the Office of the Attorney General, and parents. This position is also responsible for developing policies or procedures to ensure efficient operations; planning, implementing, and evaluating Family Division programs or projects; resolving disputes, conflicts, or problems regarding programs or services; facilitating discussion among state, vicinage, county, or local officials; and keeping abreast of current trends, laws, and rules. The position may serve as a back-up for other Family Division Programs and performs related duties as required. ASSISTANT GENERAL COUNSEL: Atlanta Housing Authority, GA. Summary: Reporting to the General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer, the successful candidate will provide legal advice to internal clients on a broad range of legal matters. Duties: Coordinate matters related to civil, administrative, and other cases to formulate defenses or to initiate legal action against other persons or entities. Manage the administrative hearing process including contracting full evidentiary hearings, preparing findings and documenting conclusions and/or recommendations. Provide regulatory and administrative guidance to the Housing Choice Program, including reviewing Administrative Hearing decisions. Analyze and coordinate monetary and other claims, including making recommendations for settlements, alternative dispute resolution, or judicial action. Monitor and coordinate with outside legal counsel in litigation and other assigned matters, including review of strategy, transactional documents, pleadings, and preparation of witnesses for testimony. Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to all AHA matters and confer with expert outside counsel on specialty matters. Provide regulatory and legal advice as it relates to housing and resident issues. Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and change orders. Qualifications: Must possess a JD and have a minimum of 10 years experience practicing in a top tier law firm, major corporate law department or administrative agency with expertise related to the substantive areas which impact the business of AHA, i.e. resident issues, landlord/tenant matters, corporate/government affairs. Requires membership to the Georgia Bar or must be admitted within 11 months of employment. Demonstrated experience as a mediator is a plus. Experience conducting administrative hearings is a plus. Must have excellent analytical legal research and writing skills, superior communication skills and the ability to synthesize information in an environment that is often very fluid and fast-paced. Must have the ability to customize the Department’s work product and/or advice to the needs of each particular client while juggling numerous issues ranging across multiple areas and disciplines. Summary: The Hudson Vicinage currently has an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to provide mediation in Children-in-Court (Abuse/Neglect, and Termination of Parental Rights), and Custody/Visitation cases. Summary: The Morris Vicinage currently has an opening for a highly motivated individual with excellent customer service and communication skills to provide mediation in Matrimonial and Custody/Visitation cases. Duties: Under the direction of the Family Division Manager and/or other supervisory staff, the successful candidate will use his/her knowledge of mediation, program management and matrimonial and custody/visitation to mediate cases between clients, resolve issues that are delaying the ultimate resolution of the case, arrange and schedule mediation sessions, record the results and keep up to date on mediation techniques. Candidate will also be responsible for the coordination and presentation of the Parent Education workshop, an informal program for parents involved in divorce. ADR SPECIALIST POSITION: Hartford County Circuit Court, MD. Summary: Hartford County Circuit Court seeks a part time contractual Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) specialist for custody and child access disputes. A minimum of 16 hours per week. Duties: Applicant needs to be willing to provide either mediation services or family assessment services. Qualifications: Completion of 40 hours basic mediation training. Additionally, completion of a Masters in Social Work or an equivalent Mental Health Field and 2 years full time experience working with families and children. COURT MEDIATOR/INVESTIGATOR: Country of Madera, California. Summary: Under direction, to mediate disputes involving child custody and visitation; to investigate complex cases involving child custody disagreements, step-parent adoptions, and probate conservatorships; to prepare a variety of court reports and recommendations; and to do related work as required. Duties: Provides guidance and counseling to cases referred by the Court; conducts child custody and visitation mediation. Meets with parties involved in custody and visitation disputes. Works through differences with involved parties and develops recommendations for the Court. Investigates allegations concerning child custody. Prepares written reports of recommendations for the court at the completion of investigations. Gathers relevant materials and develops recommendations concerning step-parent adoptions, guardianships, and other related custody matters. Interviews conservators and proposed conservatees for conservatorship cases. Explains conservatorship procedures and develops recommendations concerning the appropriateness of proposed conservatorship. Provides a variety of information about functions to others. Coordinates activities with community organizations, school authorities, therapists, state and local organizations, and other outside agencies. Prepares court reports, social case histories, correspondence, and other documents as necessary. Attends and participates in professional group meetings. Stays abreast of current legislation regarding custody evaluation, domestic violence, and related issues. Represents Family Court Services at conferences and meetings. Qualifications: Requires two years of responsible work experience in counseling or psychotherapy, preferably in a setting related to family conciliation for the courts and with a population similar to that served by the County AND equivalent to a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in psychology, social work, marriage-family-child counseling, behavioral science, or a related field. MEDIATOR (PART-TIME): Ninth Judicial Circuit, Orlando, Florida. Duties: This is highly responsible work mediating cases referred by the court. The Mediator advises parties of the mediation process, assists parties in resolving disputes, and prepares settlement agreements for review by the Court and incorporation into orders, as appropriate. The Mediator is also responsible for maintaining required statistical data. Working relationships are established with judges, court personnel, attorneys, and the general public. The Mediator exercises independent judgment and works under the supervision of a Mediation Program Coordinator or Dispute Resolution Director. Qualifications: Certification as a mediator in accordance with sections 10.100 and 10.110, Florida Rules for Certified and Court-Appointed Mediators. Supreme Court Family Mediator Certification is required. Special consideration for persons bi-lingual in Spanish. MEDIATOR: NY Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Child, in conjunction with the New York City Family Court, is seeking an experienced Mediator. Summary: This position will mediate child protective proceedings at the permanency stage and beyond on referral from the New York City Family Court. The mediator will conduct the program according to policies and protocols established by The New York City Child Protection Alternative Dispute Resolution committee, and will co-mediate cases with an attorney or social worker from the New York City Family Court. Duties: case development, outreach activities and administrative duties. Qualifications: The applicant must have successfully completed a New York State Office of Court Administration (OCA)-sponsored or OCA-recognized initial mediation training program consisting of a minimum of forty hours of instruction, completed an apprenticeship as a family mediator, and have mediated a minimum of twelve cases involving family issues. The mediator should have substantial knowledge of the child welfare and family court systems and will be expected to complete at least 15 hours of child permanency mediation training. Additional Qualifications: A certified social worker with experience in family therapy or an attorney with mediation experience is preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. (2004)

CONCILIATION
COURT COUNSELOR/MEDIATOR: The Superior Court
of
Pima
County
in Tucson
, Arizona .
Conciliation Court has three clinical staff vacancies.
Two positions are full-time and one position is
half-time, grant-funded. The
half-time position is for one year, without benefits, but may
become full-time with benefits and continue beyond one year
depending upon renewal of funding.
Duties: all positions include a combination of
child custody/access mediation, conciliation counseling and
custody/access evaluation. One
of the full-time positions will require skill in administrative
tasks such as ongoing coordination of family assessments with
attorneys and judges. The
half-time position is concentrated in custody/access mediation.
Qualifications: (minimum): for all positions are a
masters degree with a major in the behavioral or social
sciences or a closely related field (such as counseling,
counseling psychology or social work) and one year of experience
in crisis, marriage, divorce or family counseling.
(Additional relevant education/experience may substitute
for a portion of the aforementioned experience/education.)
Preference will be given to candidates with post-graduate
direct service experience in court-connected custody and access
mediation, custody evaluation, divorce and couples counseling,
treatment of domestic violence, child development and family
therapy. For one of
the vacancies, preference will be given to candidates who are
bilingual in Spanish and English.
Beginning salary for full-time positions:

CUSTODY/VISITATION

Qualifications: graduation from an accredited
