Friends of the Court Profile

Ingo and Susan Keilitz were inducted to the Burger Society in October 2002, marking 20-years of personal contributions to the National Center. Ingo Keilitz, a former vice president of the Institute for Court Management, and Susan Keilitz, a former senior staff research attorney, recently discussed how they have benefited from participation in the Friends of Court program.

“For more than 20 years, we have had the privilege of working with and supporting the National Center for State Courts through the Friends of the Court program. By doing so, we’ve joined others who care about access to justice, fairness and equality, and a responsive and accountable court system. Through the years of our association, a lot of changes have taken place at the National Center. But one thing that has remained consistent is its mission and critical role as an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving this country’s court system. The National Center, quite simply, makes a difference and we all are beneficiaries of its good work.

“On a more personal level, as former employees of the National Center who have continued to work in the field, our participation in the Friends of the Court program has paid us great benefits. It has helped us to maintain strong ties with old friends and colleagues and to establish new ones with like-minded professionals on the National Center’s staff.”
