The National Center’s updated Web site
offers more information and it’s easier to use

Williamsburg, VA (April 11, 2002) The National Center for State Courts (NCSC) recently redesigned and broadened its Web site to create a single entry point to information resources that will allow courts everywhere to better serve the public.

Click on www.ncsconline.org to find more than 100 topics grouped in 18 main subject areas, such as:

  • Juvenile and Family Violence,

  • Juries,

  • Court Budgeting and Financial Administration,

  • Court Security,

  • Civil Litigation, and more.

Each topic area links to NCSC resources in breakout sections, such as educational programs sponsored by the Institute for Court Management, frequently asked questions, upcoming events, best practices, and publications.

The National Center’s Web site is updated regularly to include the latest research, information, conferences and educational opportunities – and it continues to offer its established links, which include: Survey of Judicial Salaries, Court Interpreting, Court Statistics, the Annual Report on Trends in State Courts, and Science, Technology & Law. The Web site also offers a feature that allows users to search for key words and phrases to locate specific information on upcoming educational programs, events, and news items.

In addition, The National Center has established a new Court Information Portal that provides a single point of access for court-related information, regardless of where that information resides. The new portal can be found at www.ncsconline.org/courtinfoportal/index.html. This portal links The National Center’s Web site with those of local courts, state judiciaries, court-related organizations, and other court-related sites, such as the federal Department of Justice.

The National Center welcomes suggestions about the type of information resources offered, accessibility, and topics the courts would like to see included.

The National Center for State Courts, founded by Chief Justice Warren E. Burger in 1971, is a non-profit organization headquartered in Williamsburg, Va. that provides leadership and service to the state courts with the mission of improving the administration of justice.
