Conducts Staff Training on Domestic Violence Workplace Policy
On March 21 and
April 4, the National Center held staff training on the new domestic
violence workplace policy. The training was conducted at NCSC
headquarters in Williamsburg, Virginia and a video conference to staff
in the Denver and Arlington office was arranged. This was a collaborative
effort by the Community of Practice, NCSC Human Resources, and
Virginians Against Domestic Violence Office. For technical assistance

Firearms
and Domestic Violence Live WebEx Course Held on June 3
On June 3, NCSC
conducted a live WebEx course, “Disarming Batterers to Prevent
Domestic Homicides: A Review of Federal Firearms Statutes and Their
Effect on Local Practices.” The course, taught jointly by Lynn
Levey, Research Associate at NCSC, and Danielle Van Ess, Staff
Attorney at the National Center on Full Faith and Credit, provided
updates to recent federal laws and discussed how those laws can be
used in conjunction with existing state laws. For more

NCSC
to Evaluate Pennsylvania’s Protection from Abuse Database (PFAD)
On May 1, NCSC
staff began a project to evaluate Pennsylvania’s PFAD. Working
with an advisory council, NCSC staff will examine statewide usage of
PFAD, measure the satisfaction of end-users, and document data
transmission and system integration. For more information,
